You’re psyching yourself out by saying “I don’t like loose rocks”! You need to be saying, “I love these loose rocks, they’re tough but they’re fun. Love it!”. Glad you’re having a blast on your new Tiger!
good on you for being so honest about the fear. It is something to be thought about for sure. but having confidence comes from repetition. Keep practicing the clutch control - its key. Slow races are a great skill builder, as are hill starts with minimal/no throttle.
A man facing his fears is a beautiful thing! Great video, I just took delivery of a new Rally Pro 1200,your inspiring me to get out and challenge myself!
Thanks for the support. Everything is well. I just don't have a motorcycle at the moment. I sold the Tiger. It was too tall and top heavy for me. I'll have another motorcycle hopefully soon and I'll get back to posting videos.
@jesseonamotorcycle understandable, went the 1250gsa route myself after the local triumph dealership went kinda flaky on me, glad I did, remarkably not top heavy, air filter access doesn't require tank removal, and rear wheel removal doesn't need 7 different tools, has its flaws for sure but is far better thought out hope whatever the new bike you are getting is, it works awesome for you.
@@advidaho8643 good choice! Congrats on your new bike. You are right about the air filter. Once I found out I had to remove the tank to get to it I knew I needed to sell it lol. But the Tiger was an awesome bike. It can be a great bike for some people but just wasn't a match for me.
@jesseonamotorcycle I was willing to put up with it if the dealership hadn't flaked out on the deal we had agreed to, but for sure it is a major drawback. Btw if you get another adv, consider motoz tires, WAY better than Karoos
Try and look further ahead and not at what underneath you. This will give you a chance to pick your line. Soft sand scares me with the weight of the bike and I'm not an expert off road. Hard packed dirt roads are pretty reliable for grip even with loose rock on the surface try not to focus on individual hazards, keep the throttle steady and don't be scared to power through obstacles. You will find that you pass them without worrying about them. I would take my Harley on that track, however I am a lot more competent on it than my 1200 Tiger. I bought the same model as yours, a Rally Explorer to use in the Australian out back on extended camping touring trips. The biggest issue I have is the seat height, I have short legs!! I love the fuel range and power. I have ordered a lower seat. Keep up the videos I enjoy seeing you trips around your area. Thanks
Appreciate the support Douglas as well as all the great tips and advice 👍🏼💯🙏🏼 #teamtiger I’m only 5’7 so I understand the height problem when it comes to this bike. Just means we need to go about things a little differently. Ride safe buddy.
@@jesseonamotorcycle Cheers mate. Another good thing to practice is like when you went to your family property try to do figure eights. Steering each direction going close to lock to lock trying to get progressively tighter circles. Try it sitting and standing up on the pegs, maintaining a constant throttle. The seat height is my biggest problem, even at 5'9. I lowered the forks in the clamps about 5mm which lets me get a better contact on the ground but I still can't flat foot it. Should be better with the lower seat. Enjoy your bike and keep putting out great content, thanks!
Way to go!! Respect to you conquering your fears and your honesty!! I just bought the exact same bike 2023 Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally explorer!! I’m from Canada, only have 400 kms on the bike and looking forward to riding soon this spring!! This bike is new to me and have a lot to learn about riding this amazing bike!! Your videos are inspiring!! Well done, I thank you!! 👍😎
Thank you. Appreciate the comment. You are going to love that bike! It’s an awesome bike! It’s very versatile, you can do a lot with it. The quick shifter is butter smooth and one of my favorite things about it.
Looking on from the U.K. I own a GT Pro, these bikes aren’t light and top heavy - I admire your determination but feel they aren’t really suited to off road work (even the Rally) . Fair play to you for risking it and winning out
*_Nice Ride. I didn't know that the dirt road coming off Bixby Bridge was the Old Lost Coast Highway. They had it all coned off the last time I went through there. Did you say you are running the new Karoo 4 tire? And that they are quieter? I didn't hear what tire you said you were running before. Thanks for bringing us along._*
Yes that is old coast road and yes the Karoo 4 Tires absolutely run quieter. Surprised myself. That’s the first thing I noticed. I had the stock street tires on the Tiger before. Thanks for watching and commenting 💯👍🏼
No definitely not, but did sale the Tiger. I’ll eventually come out with a video on why and what my next bike is going to be. Thanks for the support though 👍🏼
I appreciate the support. What bike do you want ? I don’t have a bike at the moment. But I plan on uploading a video soon. I sold the Tiger. It was just too tall for me.
Quick question from the UK. Why don't your vehicle's in the US come with LED indicators like most other countries? Seems like a strange downgrade. Great video and lovely bike 👍
Quick question, I noticed your coolant level was just above the 'low' mark. Have you found that is where it seems to stay? When I got mine, the dealer had the level about midway between high and low but now its at the same level as yours. Is this Triumph normal? Hope the good weather sticks around for you 👍
After my first long distance ride I actually had to add coolant because it went under the minimum line which I thought was very odd. But i didn’t add much maybe about 4oz if that. This is my first triumph so still learning the bike. Never had to top off my Kawasaki or Ducati after buying a new bike so soon. Congrats on your new bike. Ride safe. Thanks for watching.
@@jesseonamotorcycle Interesting. I put 50ml in, about 1/4 cup to bring it to the middle. Being my first brand new, brand new bike I was getting a bit paranoid. Thanks 👍

My advise, more speed, it gives you the energy to not tip. Just power up the hills in a crouched or standing position.
