Let’s start the Daytona boots. Excellent choice! Brilliant take aways. BMW knows the writing has been on the wall. They are no slouches. Competition’s offerings have made it clear what customer)# are wanting. It should take the guess-work out as to what it will take for BMW to keep the market share. They should know how to achieve that. I have a hunch, weight reduction, TFT screen with integrated GPS, rider blind-spot indicators, radar adaptive cruise, lean sensing LED lighting and backlit handlebar switches could be on the new Gen GS, or available as options. We’ll see in 23.

I currently own a GS. I recently rode the GT and Rally Pro back to back, I preferred the GT but loved the look of the rally Pro. The Tiger is a great bike to ride and the quick shifter is way better than the GS. For me what let's the Tiger down is the cockpit, the TFT is a real let down, the interface clunky with horrible switchgear. The welding on the Triumph headers is terrible and why do they insist on fitting cheap plastic brake and clutch reservoirs. That said the Triumph is a great bike, in many ways better than the GS. It feels different to the GS and that's a good thing. Tempted yes, will I buy it? not with a new GS coming

I test rode the Tiger 1200 GT Pro at the weekend, lovely bike but could not live with the vibration felt in the foot pegs. Was only out for 40 minutes and returned back to the dealer. Let's see how I get on with the GS this weekend!

I've ridden both and still stick to the GS. Can't see advantages for the Tiger in smoother transmission and I still feel better cornering with the GS, same I've a better feeling for the engine. But that's my personal view.

6:45 The pilots forget that the Gs comes with a front /back combi brake. In all the 3 yrs I have owned the Gs never once did I touch the back brake. And quick shifter down shift is super slick when approaching corners. This gives you enough time to lean in to take the corner. And yes there is a BMW factory in Thailand too. The tiger has come a long way from its single sided swing arm days. But nothing can match the RSA of the BMW especially when you want to overland

BMW quality control sucks. I own a F850GS, 40 year edition, full optionals. It’s a wonderful motorbike and the one I like the most. But I had to take it to BMW Motorrad service 5 times in less than a year: engine issues that BMW refuses to acknowledge (horrible noise as of a blender running beyond its admissible rpm). The straw that broke the camel’s back: I took it in for a service check as noise of bad assembled/unscrewed parts was coming from the front end of the motorbike. BMW official dealer workshop didn’t even checked it in, they just took a 3 min ride and gave it back to me without even issuing a working order certifying the inspection “the motorbike is fine”. Under warranty. When back home I went to a multi brand specialized workshop (Ducati, BMW…). After 2 meters! They told me that the nut of the upper plate that links handlebar and suspensions was completely loose and this could have caused immense risk to my safety while riding. I called BMW HQ and told them to immediately come pick up my motorbike and replace it with a new one. They’re now “investigating”….if they won’t replace the motorbike, I’ll leave it at their workshop for sale and will never, ever buy another BMW motorbike (it’s my second). Just a TOXIC experience for me. I really like the Tiger 1200 Rally Pro, but I suspect that the resale value won’t hold as well as BMW 1250 GS. Thanks for the review.

I do not understand why there is such an avoidance of criticism of the GS.
It is a well sorted barge with nothing like the manoeuvrability of the KTM, Ducati and now the Triumph.
The BMW clutch is ok but the quick shifter is awful, and that is how most riders change gear.
Noise. Really guys, noise is very bad for your hearing. The BMW makes way too much from the engine and you cannot escape it.
Theft: they are the most stolen motorcycles. Mine was stolen to order, from my forecourt, in broad daylight, with my daughter assaulted by the three Asian perps who broke down my 4 metre high gate.
    Never again for me.
