I’ve seen this before when I was a kid, I always thought it looked so badass and the design seemed so advance that if no one recognized this bike before Chrysler can come out with this very bike again and cause the same if not more hype especially because it looks so modern
Watching your video brought back good memories from 2003 when I read about the Tomahawk in Cycleworld. I remember in the article "0 to fatality in 2.6 seconds". The editors were impressed with the concept. But told how the test quadrocycle would idle in gear at 25mph. And the test rider accidentally tipped it over because Chrysler techs forgot to unlock the quad steering so it could pivot when turning. I've been riding 19 years. I've never been a Chrysler guy. But I'll always remember the Tomahawk. And hope someone make quad cycles more common place and functional.
The range criticism is absolutely valid as far as I am concerned; I had the same criticism for most of the Orange County Choppers custom bikes (as I recall, so did Jesse James). For me, the ride "begins" at 100 miles. I don't want to have to stop for gas 3 times to get there. I think the Tomahawk is best defined as a "curiosity" - that is to say I am sure it would be fun to try it out on a closed course, but it's not practical enough to warrant purchase.
I remember seeing one of these at the Chrysler museum on the Chrysler world HQ grounds as a kid and it blowing my mind that it was a 4 wheel motorcycle let alone had a Dodge Viper engine. If you are ever near Auburn Hills MI I'd highly recommend going. From the Tomahawk to one off prototypes to M4 Sherman tank radial piston engines that museum is exilent.
I remember seeing it here at an auto show and was in awe just seeing the concept. But not sure if it's me getting older now, but when seeing it's side profiles, it doesn't really look that good anymore. Yet when the photos shows it at a 3/4 angle seeing both front/back and side, it still look amazing. Maybe just me.
I first came across the Tomahawk somewhere around 2009-2010, & thought it was one of the coolest things ever! It almost looks like one of the bikes from Tron, & I've always loved aggressive, futuristic designs. Speaking of, could someone who knows more about this sort of technical stuff explain to me why they went with the 4 small wheels, instead of 2 larger ones which would've made it even more like the Tron Lightcycle?
Great example of an engineering feat. To have that much H.P. under you, they better have the frame holding you in the seat because the thrust would leave you standing there as the bike flies out of your grip and down the road without you.
I don't know why they didn't just put single wide wheels in the front and rear. Doing so would have made it far more maneuverable as well as street legal. They could have outfitted it with a drag radial in the rear and marketed it as a drag bike. Regardless, gotta give them props for building this concept.
I'm thinking keep dual front & have a single, wider wheel/tire in back. dual front for the 4 calipers on 2 rotors + the hydroplaning mitigation benefit & ofc then, 2 tires in front..drag bike, indeed but top speed record bike, as well.
Since the bike was revealed I have been waiting for someone crazy enough to actually do a top speed run. I guess that is never going to happen. I would do it but I don’t have access to one 🤷♂️.
Saw several of these being built at RM Motorsports in Wixom, MI. They were allowed to build about a dozen of these .. the last few sold for over $700K.
That thing is awesome! if it was perfected though years it would be awesome. And not so expensive it probably would have sold more. Can you do a video on the 6.2 hemi sc hellcat motors?
I remember when this concept came out and I was in elementary school, praying that dodge would make this so I could have it as a daily by the time I could drive in high school(I also thought I'd be Richie Rich Rich by now too) 🤷🏿♂️ Sidenote: this inspire the VRod
Ok there must’ve been at least one that was road legal because I’ve seen one driving on the street about 10 years ago in Port Perry Ontario Canada and the bike was being driven extremely fast. As cool as this bike is, it’s too crazy for me to want to ride.
The Dodge Tomahawk is a concept vehicle powered by a Dodge Viper V10 with a motorcycle-like appearance Showned in 2003 North American Internacional Auto Show in Detroit
I loved it when I first saw the concept photos back in 03' and would've bought one myself if I could. Screw the feds, I would've thrashed it on & off track. Only cops that would stop you are ones that would want to ride it. 50 miles of range is perfect for track use. No wasted fuel storage, just enough to have fun for an hour and then refuel. I totally thought about the Alibaba-Hawks too. I think they look incredibly dangerous and super fun! I want the Carver Trike though. Best non-car ever!!!
Forgive my ignorance, but can someone please point out to me where the exhaust fumes come out? The specs seem to suggest twin rear facing pipes but I can't see any. I'm guessing it doesn't just come out of the vents on the side to burn and choke the rider!
There is no way the Tomahawk could reach 300 mph with a rider aboard. Without some type of cowl, the rider would be blown off the bike well before 300 mph. It would have to be operated via remote control.
What if dodge remodeled it and improve, well H2R will be on 2nd place. Btw i never knewthat tomahawk was cancelled and knowing that my expensive dreambike was the fastest production bike in the world, tnx to u 😉
this was cool back in the day like a lot of chrysler’s concepts but its easy to see why it would never have made it to production. its performance (outside of the supposed top speed) is not much better than a liter bike, and with that much power it would never be street legal without a major redesign. it sure was a great PR tool though, which i think was chrysler’s main purpose with the concept
I just love the outrageousness of Dodge to build this beast! Also, Hot Wheels released a 1:64 scale casting of this bike, as well.
I have one
@@maxusgintus8160
I want one.
same, i too have one
I have one in black as well
I just got one in black. It’s really awesome.

This bike is awesome and I agree. Pretty sure it would sell like hot cakes today.
I can't believe dodge made a motercycle concept with a viper v10
Guess that’s what happens when business is booming lol
@@MarspeedCars which means since business is boomin’ right now, toss a hellephant at it 😂
350 mph super bike I want it
They didn't build a motorcycle. It is a car.
@@knight0334 I know, the motorcycle was a concept
I love what Dodge did in the late 90's and early 2000's, and the Tomahawk is no exception!
Never knew Dodge made a super bike... nice!
I never looked much into it but glad I finally did!
You didn't know that?.😧
Whaaat I use to dream about the tomahawk lol
I remembered this bike on Car&Driver magazine back in 2003 I was 10yrs old.

There are some chineese clones out there.
This is an engineering marvel for a concept vehicle. Sounds like it needed some revisions but it is beautifully designed and built.
hell yea! appreciate you for not forgetting this special, beautiful work of art! . . . Chrysler ME-412?
Thanks! ME-412 video was done already! I linked it at the end of this vid 👍🏼

I would ride that bike 😎 i think its awesome that Dodge built this
Vary creative engineering exercise. Makes all gear heads smile. thanks Chrysler.

Imagine if they made this in 2020 and actually put a lot more time and effort into
Now’s the perfect time to bring it back, limited release of like 50 and make it street legal!
Hell going by dodge trends it will have a hellcat motor like every other dodge car lol
@@repnatl bro imagine a hellephant with something that light around it. It would be the most American bike ever made
Would have been named some fiat name and been retarded. U guys have no idea. This was chrysler's last celebration
You can buy a chineese clone.
Great video! The Tomahawk was truly a boss!
*fuel tank capacity 3.25 gallons*
That wouldn't be enough to get the bike down my street😂🤦🏿♂️
Thank you sooooo much for doing a video on the tomahawk! Awsome video!
i heard the revving in the beginning and thought i was gonna hear "rev up your engines!"
Great example of an engineering feat. To have that much H.P. under you, they better have the frame holding you in the seat because the thrust would leave you standing there as the bike flies out of your grip and down the road without you.
Saw this in Carlisle in early 2000s looks badass in person
Remember when it was released on the world stage, Go I wanted one for fun of blowing cars at the lights

Epic! Id buy one... That thing is just brutal. I can see it in the future to be built...
Perfect bike for the Terminator.
How does dodge just make the fastest bike ever. Easily wiping experienced motorcycle brands.
thats bad ass but if you fall with that bike you aint getting it up 😂
Saw it at the Peterson Museum in LA, was a crazy sight for sure.
I totally forgot about this bike!! Great video!!
I got one of these in my back yard collecting dust right now. My kids crashed it back in 07
It feels like it's almost there.
Extreme engineering at it's best!!!! Those that made negative comments are just jealous!!!! 😝😝🤣🤣👍
Very cool Video thanks for putting it together
Most gorgeous bike ever made favorite since I was a kid
Breathtaking machine
I love the Tomahawk even though in one of the quotes mentions that it has "chunks of V-Max in it's stool." As I am a VMax owner.
I remember this but I completely forgot everything about it besides it being powerful and the look. Of course i was young though
Lol, I'm here after watching an instagram reel with an Ali Baba Tomahawk, and I thought to myself, "whatever happened to the Dodge Tomahawk?"
Cant believe i never seen this bike ever before thank dodge
Your engine has a nice motorcycle
...there is only a few vehicles in the world that
flat out terrify me..
here is the top beast on that list.

It's way to cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Marspeed can you PLEASE do a video on the STRATUS

Good ole Jay Leno owns one as well. Not sure which one but I’m sure he was probably one of the two private owners that bought one.
I bet it would have made it if the price was reasonable and was a trike style design. That price is so far fetched it's above supercar status !
it simply is what it is

Fun fact: Gran Turismo Sport named their own car a Tomahawk, but it’s a car that go can go 300+ mph.

HOW fast?
You should do the Jeep Hurricane.
wow
They should come back with a hellcat bike.....
It’s probably possible now
And then they built the Dodge SRT Tomahawk
Do a Jeep Wagoneer video!
