Manticores recently got a lore update, they were caravan guards in the lands of Zerrikania, until the day an enormous fire elemental attacked a caravan they were guarding (the caravan had most of the Zerrikanian royal family and their entire court) the Witcher fought hard but a beast that size required siege equipment to bring down. They eventually killed the beast but with most of the royal family and half the court dead along with most of the witchers. For this, they were shunned and cut off from royal funding.
In the books(SoS) dandelion refers to cat school witchers as "failed mutations" which i found interesting. No idea how correct he is but still. For those who dont know only wolf, griffin and cat school exist in the books, the rest were created for the games. My personal favourite is Manticore lol i love my bombs.
I wore the viper armor to make myself feel like Netflix Armor cuz i don't have next gen yet, so basically now I've mastered the alchemy of the viper armor and I'm a perfect witcher now
I once homebrewed a Witcher School for a Friend called the Dragon School, which was secretly backed by Dragons who played Xorrvintal, the great Game in Order to get more mortal pieces that can score on their board
As from what i gather, i suit the wolf school best, i like to remain a jack of all trades as often as possible, its better to be good at everything than great at one or a few things
I think there should be court Witcher knights/ bodyguards for kings and all nobility with a fiefdom and one Witcher school in the future. That’s just my little fan fiction future for the witchers. Another idea I have is to find a group of islands and have each witcher school on a different island l and when someone comes to destroy the witchers they come together to protect the islands. The schools under a witchers counsel and each grandmaster sits on the seat of the council who make decisions for the overall group of islands and schools.

School of the bear armor is my all time favourite! It just looks so freaking badass and genuinely something I would love to wear myself 😂

There's also fox and lynx, lynx was started after the events of witcher 3 by Lambert and keira, haven't done much research into fox yet
And then there's the School of the Lechen, wich should definitely be made canon.

nah i think witchers are more interesting when they're neutral enough to refuse continual service to a monarch
