I watched a similar video that Quadratec posted - they recommend cutting the tow top and two bottom tabs off the bracket and reinstalling it so you keep the dash trim secure. It’s the tabs that interfere with the new unit, not the bracket itself.
I have the same Wrangler and stereo. The stock stereo measures 8 1/8 x 3 3/4 inches. The Sony you installed and many other touchscreen stereos measure 7". Did you have to add additional trim or does the new stereo include trim to cover the gap?
