  • Swapping out the ole 'button & analog clock' radio in a Jeep Wrangler JK to the touch screen you always wish it had. Now that a few years have passed, you can scoop these bad boys up on ebay on the cheap. (about $200)
Takes about 10-15 minutes. Pick you up some automotive panel tools for a couple bucks on amazon as you see me use. They will come in handy here and down the line for ya.

I would guess that it worked after you got the code right? Going bang this out soon.

so I installed this radio in my 2012 Wrangler, and I have a “Image Not found” error with the navigation. not sure what it is and forums haven’t been too much help.

I think you hit ‘menu’- then ‘display setting’ - select ‘auto color mode’

@@BrianEaly I did that and it didn’t work. Where is the sensor? I know on my f150 , it’s on the dashboard. Wondering if my wrangler is wired for that?

Searched a forum- found a bunch of the same question and a bunch of the same answer… they say on the turn signal lever, ( left lever on steering wheel) you will see a rotating dial furthest down the shaft with an expanding white line. The higher the setting on the white line, the brighter the interior lights will be. These people say if it is not backed one notch off the highest setting, it will stay 100% in day and night mode.
Gonna play with this tomorrow to see if it’s true… curious now. 🤔

This is Awesome!!! ? Does your new deck support Apple car Playor Android Auto? Can you give us any other details on your new deck? I ask because there are other upgrades that will support Apple and Android to make them even Better. I like the Factory decks as much as the Aftermarket decks Thanks for this Video!!!.

The series 430 radios do not support Car Play or Android Auto, sadly.

Did you ever end up getting the code if so how so , through dealership? i heard you have to give them the old vin of what the radio was off of , unless it was brand new radio, if brand new why didnt it have a code provided, and if needed a code without vin did it cost anything ?.. sorry to shove all the questions in one, i have the same radio, having the same problem , i did have the code at one point lost that piece of paper, then i ended up wrecking my car so i gave the radio to my father and its locked lol

I had the vin of the original Jeep the seller took it out of and the dealer still wouldn’t give me the code. I ended up using that www.radiocodes.co - paid for the code. Website worked fine, only thing is- they said it takes 3 minutes to get your code. I didn’t get mine in an email until the next day. Best of luck!

Yes. One of the hookup wires is for nav… I was curious too, and it works just fine. So setup or anything required. 👌

The jeep I have did not have gps. This stock radio was gps capable… the harnesses and everything were already there hanging in the Jeep dash, just plugged it in. Works perfect.
Had a little headache getting the security code the seller didn’t send, but it is well worth it for sure. Find one someone is selling with the code, or you’ll have to pay about $50 to a company to send it to you. Thanks, take care.
