Interestingly I know nobody who has these problems except the leak of the roof and that's pretty much inherent to all wranglers. Easy fix: just take the top off - there, fixed it for ya.
I think it's much more common to have a leaking oil cooler - that's a very common problem on the 3.6l pentastar. It's also pretty common that your intake is gunked up and the MAP sensor is a black oily mess. Definitely look into that. The heater core gunking up is also quite common. Of course seals on those axles will fail sooner or later - that's just how it is. Luckily most of that is a cheap repair.

I just looked at a 2011 wrangler with 41000 miles on it. There was a lot of surface rust underneath and some oil on the #1 spark plug that could have come from a leaking valve cover gasket. I couldn't hear any ticking noise or see any smoke coming from the exhaust . Could that just be the valve cover gasket?

For 12-18 with the pentastar it is incredibly common for your oil filter/cooler housing to begin leaking through an o-ring seal or a stress crack. Some at incredibly low mileage. They are back ordered for all eternity. Keep a spare in the garage folks.

Funny, thing on the key issue, supposedly it will start and run for about a minute with the wrong chip then shut down. As for the exhaust manifold, according to the Engine design there is no external exhaust manifold, they are cast into the head assembly. Still, I love my Jeep…

ok I have an issue for you with my 2010 Jeep Wrangler. So turn the jeep on position go to start the jeep is start and runs for a few sec. sputters and dies. Turn the key to start it again dead no start wait a min or two try and start it starts runs for a few sec then dies. Ok I chased my tail for 3 days could not find anything like a wire broken. So took it to the dealer had them run electrical diag on the jeep. They say they could talk to the ECM/PCM and it seems that the TIPM is bad . Now I tend to think there is something else going on here . What are your thoughts on this one. I did not let the dealer replace the TIMP because 3800 to repair is just over kill I believe. I was thinking that just maybe a bad ALternator Voltage regulator and the tipm. I did have the Alternator wire going to battery short out about 4 months ago burn right thru the EGT tube had a tie wrap come apart and the cable slide down an touched the Egr tube causing a major short . What are your thoughts on this one?

I haven't had any of these problems with my 2007 wrangler, the problems I've had are no power, 3.8 engines are weak!, should've kept the 4.0, bad steering, bad gas mileage, excessive oil consumption, bad gearing, should've made 1st gear a granny, and bad break cable, had it fix once and it needs it again!. I like jeeps, but too many health issues!

Well, the 2007-2011 and 2012-2018 are different vehicles, mostly from a Motor and Transmission perspective, although both are “JKs”.
Top 1 problem for ‘12-‘18 - Oil Filter Housing Assembly
Top 1 problem for ‘07-‘11 - EGR Valve failure

I bought a jeep to replace my 2002 Nissan Xterra I had for two decades. My Xterra was a beast, and in twenty years the only major issue I had with it was a cracked radiator, costing me $570 to replace at the dealer.
I know I'm gonna get some hate on this. Jeeps look timeless, but they are garbage. Seems like every week it's something different. Clock spring one week. Oil cooler housing the next. It keeps going.

I just picked up this Jeep in a 2013 model with 108,000 miles on it. It runs great, but it really heats up the coolant fast, (and delivers heat fast to the heater). The heater starts pumping warmer air in .2 miles, (heat gauge just starting to move from cold), and the engine temp is almost to the middle of the gauge, (normal operating temps), after I only travel 1 mile. The gauge stays in the middle for the rest of the operation, and I get no warning or code lights, but it heats up about 3 times faster than any other car I had had since 1980. Could it be that my catalytic converters are getting plugged up, or is this somehow normal for the Jeep with the 3.6L TTV engines?

I have a 2014 with 109k miles on it and the gauge has been in the middle now after replacing the radiator/thermostat around 80k miles. maybe your jeep had similar coolant issues in the past and they replaced some parts, but it's otherwise been riding normal since.

Exhaust manifold leaking on Jeep 1985 CJ7 …..and it’s still happening? What is their problem, can’t they build these things right? After two years of getting 10 mpg I traded it in and I’ve slept better ever since. I love Jeeps but I couldn’t take all the problems and expense. I’m with Toyota now and won’t ever go back no matter how much fun they were to drive.

Here's another problem, oil on your air filter. Not unusual, it's from egr valve according to several Dealerships. That is until you have engine code, mine is P0016. Dealership says it's do to dirty engine. Oil and dirt in tube between air filter and engine. Chrysler not going to cover it under warranty. Either 6 year 60,000 miles warranty or my extended Chrysler Warranty. Jeep has been several even time since new at a Jeep/Chrysler Dealership.

Call the 800 number to the national customer service dept. Made a complaint about them refusing to replace a cat. Convertor it was only the 3 rd one! They wouldn't fix the o2 problem killing them. So I called and they made the dealership replace my convertor.

    • @1AAuto

+DumbledoreMcCracken Thanks for watching! The rust you see in this video is just surface rust, which does not compromise the integrity of the shaft.

Dum video, everything has seals. Dirt messes stuff up .
Best quality in a vehicle I've seen in a long time.
I bought mine at 120000 miles and feels like a new vehicle.
My old one has 300000 on it and still runs fine.

Extended warranty on that issue. Ten years / 150,000 miles. Just got new cyl heads at 149,000 on my 2012. Seemed like it ran fine. Took it in to ask and they replaced them.

Not at all. My 2013 has none of these issues. Still solid since purchased when new. As a matter of fact I’ve had zero issues with it. Don’t let this put you off from owning one. They’re real easy to maintain and fix when need be. It’s a real simple design that’s been around for a while. I guarantee you will fall in love with it.

I had a 96’ Tacoma - got it in 2007 and was the 2nd owner - never EVER an issue mechanically. It purred with 175K miles on it and was plenty capable off road before I sold it two years ago. To your point, I just bought a 2016 four-door JK with only 60K miles on it. And within a week the check engine light came on which was later diagnosed as a cylinder two misfire. In my case, it was the cam shaft that malfunctioned and had to be replaced along with coils, plugs, and other repairs which totaled around $4,500 in parts/labor/tax. I bought it because I moved up to Utah a year ago and wanted something for the trails. I sure wish I would’ve never sold my Tacoma! Or bought another Tacoma instead of this Jeep!! 🤷‍♂️

Good afternoon, you really missed many more failures of the jeep ... the ignition failure brings as consequences the failure of the parking switch, and other consequences in the computer ... you also lack one of the main ones, and that is since new ... they consume oil in the engine ... very serious failure ... and also of the gas return system of the gasoline tank, and the canister ... among others ... in other words the manufacturers were careless and they offer a very poor quality product ... thank you friend

Every vehicle that goes offroad has issues with axle seals. A Honda civic will. The wcm also is part of the ignition its called the WIM. Also the RFH is a known issue so is the cylinder head on 12s and burning oil in 07-11s. Your video is poor at best.
