      Hi! Glad that this was helpful ☺️! They are really easy to grow indeed! However, keep in mind that Begonias are not frost-resistant, so the bulbs should be planted outdoors in late spring or you can plant them indoors in late winter and transplant the young plants outdoors when the risk of frost has passed 🌸 Good Luck!

    I've never known much about begonias...like they grow from tubers. Nice tutorial. 👍 I can see adding begonias to our garden in the future.🙂 They are so beautiful! 😃
    I'm doing pretty well at growing more flowering plants...most from seed. Your garden is very encouraging! Be well!🙂

    when they are dormant over the winter, do you also water them?

    • @17m2garden
      @17m2garden  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, they are best kept dry overwinter otherwise they may rot.

      @@17m2garden I heard they are not bone dry but slightly damp either in sand or paper bag. I mean very very slightly. This is inside

    What about begonias that you buy as a grown plant? Is it possible to cut it at the end of the summer and retrieve the tuber?

    • @17m2garden
      @17m2garden  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If it's a tuberous Begonia then yes, absolutely! But there are many different types of Begonias and not all of them have tubers.

      @@17m2garden ok and how do you know?

    • @17m2garden
      @17m2garden  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chevrollierlaurence907 If you prefer to buy them as plants then simply ask at the garden center for tuberous Begonias and they will surely show you the good ones ☺️ You can also write the variety name in Google and it will also tell you wether it's a tuberous one or not. Or - by the end of season dig the plant out and simply check if there is a tuber or not 😉

    Too much water, they will rot!

      Nah...You should water abundantly after planting pretty much any bulb/tuber to get them started and then water only sparingly until they produce above ground growth. I have never had a single tuber rot. This is an old video, you can watch my summer videos from that year and see them thrive 🌸
