Right on time , thank PPG! 😊 This is my first time working with these tubers, so knowing up front it could be up to a month for them to “wake up” is greatly appreciated 👍 ..
I wasn't able to save my tubers last year but I'm inspired to get a packet. Gotta get out to the garden center. I didn't realize they had issues with being in too large a pot...that's a great tip!
They just are a bit of a goldilocks plant especially when they are first getting going. The soil moisture can’t be too wet or too dry. The smaller pot helps regulate that. I hope this was clear in the video. Good luck with your begonias and hopefully you can save them over winter this year.
That’s great to hear. The zones are really about how cold we get in the winter so gardeners around the world share many similar experiences during the growing season. It’s wonderful that we can learn from one another.
It depends if it is warm enough where you are. I’ve never planted lily bulbs in spring but I’m thinking they want to go into soil that’s warm. If you are putting them in pots and they won’t get frost, I think you are safe.
@@PrairiePlantgirl i just snowed 8" of wet snow. The plainting bug just went and im in Nebraska 5b zone . Thank so much for taking the time to repry. !v Your the real deal
You can always pot them inside in small pots while you wait for the weather to cooperate. Otherwise putting them somewhere cool and dark and check often for mould. I would pot them.

Begonias are not like potatoes, in that you absolutely cannot cut the tubers in half!
