you don't know how happy I was to see that bubble. I have tried to figure it out, over chilling my cake and under chilling my room. not chilled cake etc. I could never really understand and sometimes it happens hours after I've done decorating. but I will def try the pressing down method to expel more air to make sure, maybe that's the bit Im leaving out. really nice job thanks.
Very sleek and beautiful cake! I have used your marshmallow fondant recipe and it’s great! Thank you for sharing the problem part too, it’s great to see a pro solution to it. Love the tutorials!
You make this look sooooooo easy….im sure the fondant has much to do with the application…will have to look for a tutorial from you…love your work …t Never thought of flipping it!thank you for sharing…❤️
Thanks Liz! Love watching your tutorials, I always learn so many useful tips! I’ve been asked to do my niece’s wedding cake next year so picking up as much as I can from you! I’m scared though as I’ve only ever done 2 tiers not 3 😬 so the thought of assembling tier 3 on site is daunting. Sending big waves from chilly Essex England xx
I learned more on this video than like 4 classes of cake decorating . You are awesome. Thank you for sharing. I just noticed I'm on my sons TH-cam acct. Oh well he can learn too hehe. Thanks again.
Beautiful marbeling! And great tips Liz, as always👍😍 Just mist your little helper at the end 😁 Have a great day, and lots of love from the Netherlands Tamara!
How many people does a cake that size typically feed? I’m going to make my parents a 50th anniversary cake. I bought all the tools after watching your videos. I’m so excited to bake! Thank you 👩🏻🍳🎂🥰
Thank you for showing the stacking of the cakes 🎂. No one else has ever ever explained about the venting hole or not putting a straw back in it. What exactly are the milkshake straws and where do I get them 🤔 ? Are they like the bubble T straws ? This is just one of the many reasons that I love your tutorials you show and explain the reasoning behind everything you do. Thank you for sharing and keep on caking
I loved it! You answered so many of my questions in this video. Thank you I am excited to do this now. My only question is how deep are your cake pans? My two tier are not that high. Or are you using more layers? Thanks
Are your cakes frozen chill or just left in the fridge for a couple hours? Before coving a cake with fondant? And so when icing them too are they frozen chilled sorry don't know if I asked the question right.. have been watching your videos and they are amazing only reason I am back to cake decorating.
The top cake, you don’t need to take the bottom board out? I wanted to do a wedding cake but kind of scared if I’ll mess it up. Anyway, your videos helps so much just curious about the bottom board for the top cake.
If I took the board off then what would the cake be sitting on? The board is there to support the weight of the cake. Very important, especially in wedding cakes :)
Why did you use Renshaw fondant instead of LMF for this cake? I would have expected you to use Wilton fondant if you just wanted a ready-made. Is Renshaw better?
hi again :) quick question if i make the fondant covered cake in advance for a wedding. should i refrigerate it? or keep it at room temperature? and if so how many days in advance can i do that ? tia!!
Sugar Geek Show yes but if i was told that fondant gets ruined in the fridge. i want to make the cake a day in advance and wanted to know if refrigerating it will really ruin it
@@mk4u123 No, refrigeration does not ruin a cake. You might get some condensation when it first comes out of the fridge but it doesn't ruin it. I refrigerate every.single.cake
raymen soin most of my cake recipes work great under fondant! I specifically love the white velvet buttermilk cake for wedding cakes. Here’s a link to my blog where you can find all my recipes: sugargeekshow.com/cake-recipes/
Hi I love your tutorials, however I have only 1 advice. Please do mo touch your hair and then keep touching cakes. I have noticed it in some other videos. Just cover the hair and keep working
You’re the reason I wasn’t afraid to use fondant! Anyone I know who starts cake decorating I send them your links.
Aww thank you so much! I truly appreciate that!
Never knew about the turning the cake upside down to create a sharp edge trick! So helpful!
I always opted for ribbons to hide the space. Learnt a lot just from this single tutorial. Thank you
Yes thankyou!!! Definitely wish I'd learned that trick 10 years ago;D
This is the best way of marbling fondant I’ve seen - and it works🤩😄💕

I loved it! You answered so many of my questions in this video. Thank you I am excited to do this now. My only question is how deep are your cake pans? My two tier are not that high. Or are you using more layers? Thanks
Thank you so much Pam! I actually use three layers. My pans are 2" high. I like really tall cakes :)
Do you t take customers for wedding cakes? If so, how do I place an inquiry?
What pan size did u use for this please? How many layers each?
Anyone know what material that piping bag was?? Or a link to them?
you're amazing thank you
Do we need to put a cake board under the six inch cake before put it on the straw base or any fondant paste to make it stick firmly

Just chilled, I don't freeze my cakes :)
Most of the time the cakes are very heavy special if they are 14” or 16’ , so how you can work with the fondant?
Work well done well👍👍👍
How do you avoid the fondant tearing at the top edge when it stretches over the edge?
Excelent!!!!!😍😍
Looks amazing. How many servings are in this wedding cake?
72
Lovely cake and your work is amazing.. can you help me with the buttercream.. I have a cake Saturday 😞🤗

Great video. Do have a recipe for homemade fondant? I think mine has more shine than yours. And not as stretchy as the one u have there
cutflower yes it’s on my blog. It’s called LMF
@@SugarGeekShow thanks

Yes I prefer Renshaw fondant because it tastes amazing and works very much like LMF but I didn't have to make it.
Hi , how many days in advance should I cover my cake in fondant?
❤️❤️❤️ it!
hi again :)
quick question

I always have problems covering cakes with fondant. It tooks me tooooo long
Maybe I missed it, but she said the cake was hard. Was that because she froze it first?

You don’t “glue” the top tear onto the bottom tear?
No I don't but you could if wanted that extra security
Thank you! And just noticed I said tear instead of tier *facepalm*. Great videos. Very educational. Thanks!!
@@kristimckee1330 I knew what you mean lol
What cake pan size do you used?
She uses fat daddio's 3" in height and the cake looks like it's a 6" and the bottom is a 8"
OMG. I have been wasting my time doing it wrong all these years. You have ALL the tricks don’t you?!
How can i do with bigger cake?
Same exact way, just use bigger cardboards. I used to use plastic cutting boards for support :)
I never cover a super cold cake, causes air bubbles
That's the biggest air bubble I've ever seen! Lol popped like a pimple.... Gross I know... But that's where my mind went...
🌹🌹🌹❤❤❤❤

I love this, but please... don't tuck your hair behind your ear then go back to the fondant lol.
No one's eating this cake but me :) It's more of a cooking show for entertainment. You don't see hosts on Food Network wearing hair nets :-D
Hi I love your tutorials, however I have only 1 advice. Please do mo touch your hair and then keep touching cakes. I have noticed it in some other videos. Just cover the hair and keep working
Elfride Osepa no one is eating this cake besides me, otherwise I would def pin back my hair and wear gloves :) this is just for TH-cam
