The age group between 25-40 will opt for a Thar Roxx over a Creata if not for the long wait. Even point A to point B kind of driver will want people to perceive him as someone who is different.
Wonderful job by Mahindra for offering a Wrangler under a budget..but when u rave about 1.5 lakh + bookings in a hour..we should also realize ,that along with the exemplary demand...simultaneously, exclusivity is thrown out of the window...Hope and pray ,I don't see my milkman coming in a Roxx🙏
What I really want from Mahindra is to use the petrol engine and drive train of Thar Roxx and put it in a 3 door coupé which will give petrol heads in India an amazing RWD car( indigenous GT 86 maybe?). I think fellow petrol heads will agree.....what do you say? Thanks Autocar India for always giving us excellent content everytime to see!
I wanted to know how bad is the body vertical movement/ bouncing action when it encounters small bumps and undulations at cruising speeds? Is it a deal breaker, if one is prioritizing long drives on highways?
Hey need your opinion, I am getting a good deal for Thar AX(O) 1.5 RWD Ex. Showroom 10.10L. Since the arrival of ROXX, Thar is getting discounts. should I wait anymore to price drop even further or should I settle for this? ON ROAD 12.5L Pls suggested
@praveenshanmugham6422 If you want the 3 door thar, just get it now. Discounts will last ony till the current stocks last. And mahindra will be cutting down production of 3 door for roxx later.

this is to be understood as stated by hormus hormazd that in stricter norms and regulations coming in the shift will towards monocorque rather than body on frame or ladder F chassis i feel at least when BS7 kicks in the duration for diesel in NCR should increase from 10 to 15 years......and petrol from 15 to 20 years..........or else what ishe point of buying a overpriced diesel ...if you are a enthusiast or intent of buying that only then it is a different question altogether......this is not encouraging for customers and vehicle buyers ......nice analysis 👍
This podcast was very well presented regarding Mahindra Roxx. But my Request is to create a one of a Kind - An Exclusive Podcast on Tata Motors. A Three Part (1 Hour Each) Podcast / News - Honoring Sir Ratan Tata. Part 1 - The Origin Part 2 - The Challenge & Drive to "Make in India" Part 3 - The Future Ahead. I am sure, with your reach, From Chairman to all the Automotive Engineers this would be possible. Todays Bharat is a Young Bharat, And we don't know what is the "Drive to be a Patriot and Belief in Indian Capabilities". We all love Ratan Tata Sir. Topic 1: I would like to share one news bit between "How Tata really thought about the New Bharat Automobile Industry 8 Years ago" 1: Jaguar had those Rotary Gear which used to disappear. 2: Land Rover Discovery had Terrain Response Rotary Dial. One Dial but two different function. For the first time across Tata range in Nexon, Safari, Harrier, Punch and Curvv they implemented Rotary Dial with Drive Select Mode. Topic 2: JLR working with Ford Management vs JLR working with Tata Management is another reason for a turnaround. Topic 3: Do you know where the Caustic Soda is made, Its the Same Factory where Tata Salt is made. But do you know where it is ? (Answer: Mithapur facility of Tata Chemicals in Gujarat, India.) The story goes, During post independence India, a lot of people had faced the disease of Goiter, which was due to lack of Iodine, And Tata Salts were the first to Add Iodine to Salt. Such a Historic moment. Imagine a Travel program from Mumbai to going travelling back to the Tata Salt Factory. =========================== Ratan Tata or Tata group in general has such a forward thinking approach that today they deserve a special podcast on the history of journey of Tatas. By the way, Tata Cars should also focus on giving proper place for Coffee holder, Especially since they also own Starbucks. =========================== But my deep and huge respect to Tata again and to our Dear Sir Ratan Tata . We love you and India will miss you. =========================== With lots of love for both of you guys. Keep it up.
#Hormazd sir, Mahindra is still following those unethical practices with respect to the deliveries of its products. If you want the #TharRoxx then accessories worth Rs.52000 and PPF worth Rs.85000/+ is mandatory apart from waiting period. The same happened with #XUV700? Why is it so?
7:38 There's the Suzuki Jimny. Come on. Pound for pound, it is a technically superior off-roader and city vehicle, with greater build quality for longevity, as well as better suspension in safe speeds.
Dear: Brilliant Podcast - Just wanted to check, if these points mentioned below can somehow reach Mahindra or would they ever be addressed in their upcoming version of ROXX - What are your thoughts ? 1) No/Less Ride Comfort: Less Leg room and thigh support makes the drive side seat very uncomfortable. Space is not quite sufficient enough when the driver side door is closed. Your legs literally get squeezed. Very uncomfortable. 2) Space Issue: 2nd Row can't accommodate 3 Adults. 3) Space Management: No / Less place to accommodate basics stuff inside the vehicle. ## wires placement at the bottom of the door can be an obstacle to your foot soon. 4) Vehicle Protection: A safety protection cover/ plate below (Iron/Thick Plastic), to protect the vehicle from any unwanted damages.
It also says a lot about the mindset of the Indian car buyer where “road presence” takes precedence over anything else. No wonder Thar today is associated with “chaprigiri” and is just the KTM duke of the car market.
You do know it offers much more than presence. Only car with rear wheel drive, ladder on frame, 4x4 option, great engines, drives better than most Koreans and Japanese.. presence is just a sweet cherry on top. Many go for thar/scorpion for this combo and they’ll be happy driving these too! Like ktm, thar is fun to drive and not for the mundane 9to5 desk job guys who are afraid of being branded as chapri and give up on these amazing machines.
@@TheDarkdragon25Jimny has all these things? The ride quality on highways at speeds above 120 kmph is better in the Roxx, but it's better everywhere else in Jimny - and one's old parents don't have to 'ascend' the car to get into it to visit the hometown village.
Don't try be so pretentious. People in US buy 5+ meter "trucks" to go to Starbucks and work from home. It's not limited to mindset of "Indian" car buyer.
Yes Mahindra have nailed the gold formula for SUVs for those who don't mind little bit jiggle in drive. Tatas should bring back Sumo 4x4 which should look like Defender.. and see the sales chart.. The defender went through the monocoque route already..
five of us were discussing about this awesome looking wrangler like vehicle . I asked others if they know of any place nearby where we can do offroad. they were clueless. someone said a plantation 100 km away . that is the reality . I travel a lot , started in a hatchback in India which got stuck in only 3 occasions out of 115k km of driving in 4 years. Used AWD for 7 years , many trips , saved by AWD capability only 4 times two of those in snow situations. Use your money wisely . think about PMGSY started 25 years ago. ! you wont find may off road situations .
As always, wonderful discussion with lots of insights....Keep it up Sir and I also would request you to make a pod cast on Ratan Tata Sir's vision and Tata Motors initial products like Estate, Sierra, Nano. Same is also requested by one more gentleman in the comments.😊
You should do a full blooded comparo between the Thar Roxx and the Jeep Wrangler. On road and Off Road both. Let’s see for ourselves how they perform against each other as brothers from different mothers.
Hormazd, I have a question. M&M trademarked 7 names with Thar in them. Do you think that the word Thar is going to a prefix for lifestyle vehicles moving forward? Also, will they come up with new cars lets say in the Fortuner category?
Mahindra's currently testing an electric version of the 3XO, perhaps to be launched next year. Just wanted to ask whether they've scaled down the INGLO further for the 3XO EV, or is it some other platform? Because based on the reports, the new 3XO EV will probably be positioned between the Nexon.EV and Punch.EV.
Except the engine power on highway Jimny is not a lesser vehicle than Thar Roxx. In my test drive it impressed me lot. I think many of the customers of Thar Roxx will divert towards the Jimny if they try their hands on Jimny. It is half the price of a Thar 4wD. It is the best VFM 4WD car available. In the current price Thar 4WD is overpriced. My best bet is Jimmy’s sale will see a upward trend.
Sir Improved dynamics / Ride & Handling space ,features of THARR ROXX is too good for MAHINDRA. This should definitely have an option for the buyer to choose between 5 and 7 seats as they have it in the XUV 700
Velusamy and his team , anand etc good. Waitng for BE series velu.
Superb podcast 👌👌….. Really in depth analysis. One should never miss any of these podcasts.

Adding jump seats like Scorpio classic as optional in Thar ROXX would have made it better choice for rural markets
Exactly
They would be redundant due to the tail gate.
Why Reviewer forgot to mention about the Body on frame Marazoo, while saying about the Innova, an underrated gem in the budget.
Nice podcast as always, thank you for that. I too feel that the initial euphoria is one thing, but the Roxx is not for everyone.

What is the difference between Monocoque and body on frame vehicle? @Autocar India
It might look different but will it an year from now, with the 2Lakh of these on the road?
This podcast has become best part of weekend.
Roxx is realy game changer even foreign countries would love roxx as long as it is affordable

Thar Roxx is car of future , perfect when Humans will colonise Moon and Mars .
Thar Rox cannot be called off-road suv due to sunroof, by the time they deliver it will be 3-6 months 😮

Thar Roxx will kill sales off Thar 3 door , which will put again Mahindra in 4th spot again 😂😂😂
If it is fuels efficient then more people can buy. People can afford Thar but with that low mileage can't maintain
What is happening to Stellantis and Jeep? whats new?
A podcast with Nitin Gadkari sir please.
If Mahindra can takes care of after sales service , it will zoom
On a funny note, Thar is way better to take on water logged roads. Ride through floods, which other cars cant do
You guys seem to have forgotten the Force Gurkha entirely 😢
Please review the THAR ROXX PETROL MANUAL....DOES Mahindra HAS ISSUES WITH ELECTRICALS
Is brezza getting dress up with 1.0 turbocharger as I heard of it
The "craze" is purely about the looks... The typical Indian mentality of showing off...... Although saw the Thar not performing upto the expected levels ,where it's supposed to be best at "off-roading"
Anyday mahindra best company
Same here
Thar in Car is RE in Bike
People want saturated technology having EV’s from Mahindra asap.
Thar EV is perfect for urban office goers.
But Poor after-service is still haunting Mahindra suvs especially here in Kerala
You have completely forgotten the effects of global warming on our cities. Flooding in cities means off roading capabilities are required within cities for close to 10 days a year 😊
A creta customer will eventually upgrade and become a Thar customer
I don’t trust Mahindra they are the ones who gave us the KUV 100 which I got suckered into buying. Lost Rs 200000/- when I sold it after a year. Promised 19 km / litre , delivered 10 km / litre. Copy cats lifted the Jeep Wrangler design.
If the ride is sorted, this is the best Mahindra. Because the Scorpio, ScorpioN and Thar has some of the worst rides I have ever came across.
Get a video on Kia also
Roxx will have it's own customer base. It will cannibalize Thar a lot. Please dont compare Jimny with Thar or Roxx. Jimny is a well refined, small go anywhere car, except that it is pathetically speccd.
Tata motors is happy upgrading 1.2 ltr Mpfi engine petrol engine to Tgdi in the meantime,Tata motors future looks bleak
Dealers are booking in the name of unaware customers, some who had gone to mahindra for just a query..no effort from mahindra to stop such black marketing obviously cuz it helps them
Hope it doesn't perform like the first batch of Mahindra Scorpio , it was not upto the mark mechanically .

Before buy a mahindra car check the review of the dealership from where u r buy mahindra car.
My experience is too bad. They harassed me. My recommendation is don’t buy Mahindra from Uttrakhand.
Thar roxx rocks because of its the copy of jeep wrangler at cheaper price. Is there any product from mahindra that there own❓
To make a Thar as refined as global brand is the trick. It can come only with innovation and localisation😂
It’s horrible to drive …Mahindra just killed DNA of THAR
Lol 😆.. u need bolero or alto
How??
U first drive it.
Can you elaborate ? Why do you feel like that
You mean that the car now turns when you move the steering unlike the old thar?
