God forbid someone consider things like strategy and synergy. Hmm, this guy has a Pokémon with high special defense and special attack. Maybe instead of trying to blast it with hydroblast 50 million times i could just, you know, throw out my speed boost blaziken and kick it to death before it has a chance to breathe.
To be fair, I didn't know Glare was a 100 accuracy move before looking it up and Ancient Power actually is a 10% chance. So if you don't even know that ditto doesn't copy status ailments from a pokemon, seeing a status move hit three times in a row could easily look like bs luck alongside the actual lucky boost.

With good techniques you can increase your odds which means there is an element of skill, I'm not going to say there is no RNG cuz that's a lie but if one player knows their way around different Pokemon and moves they're going to be more likely to win then someone just whipping out legendaries with high damage attacks

I never understand how people get so confident when fighting a seemingly weak team in high elo. If anything you should be *SCARED* when you come upon a weak team in high elo. Because a "weak" team in high elo is a testament of great strategy making. I'm gonna be much more wary of a player with a team of low base stat pokemons than a player who just uses a full team of legendaries.
While playing the actual games, that's exactly how I felt after landing over Ultra Ball league.

@@BigShrimpin_ yeah but he's 1200 elo so he probably sucks. I can take pretty much any team to ~1200 elo. I used to occasionally test my draft league team created to counter only specific Pokemon in OU and I'd get to 12-1300 even though it doesn't anticipate most OU threats at all

Funny enough, I felt flattered (I'm autistic) when he called "autism" in response to the face of the heavily contrasted strategic competence. I know that "autism" has the same meaning as "retarded" when used as an insult but to me it just translated straight to "this person is PARTICULARLY gifted at pokemon team building" ... which is actually a common autistic trait-- having specializations in very specific things... so despite his intentions, it did make me laugh a little on the inside knowing that he had SO many different insults he could have chosen and out of all of them, he chose *that* one.
