- Hi Lovelies 👋, starting your own foot care business, setting up as a foot health practitioner and knowing how to start your own foot care business can be pretty scary, i mean where do you start right!? There are a few things we need in place before we can start working as Foot health Practitioners or foot care professionals. Good Morning Jess, My name is Mel & I qualified this year as a FHP. I've not yet started as i still need to get an autoclave and ultra sonic. Do we just need the business indemnity insurance? AND do they all cover public liability within one policy? OR do you usually have 2 separate policies

Hi Maria, 👋 I think my advice would be to do your research and go to a reputable foothealth training organisation/institute. Word of mouth speaks volumes so see what others have to say. There are groups on Facebook that you could join. X

If I'm renting a room in an already established clinic building (where there are a number of other clinics already trading in the same building like a house), apart from what you mentioned here, is there anything else I would need? For example, like health and safety notes or needing to know First Aid and having a certificate for this? Thank you, kindly let me know :)
Hi, as I'm domiciliary I'm not clued up with working in a clinic as a private FHP. But what you've mentioned sounds right such health and safety, first-aid which us doms have to do also BTW. I can't really help you further as not my area of knowledge yet x
Jess do you give any samples to new clients and if so, what do you put into the pack on first visit
Yes, I usually give a heel balm and maintenance foot cream sample that I sell x

How long have you been a FHP for? Is it worth it? I've heard the autoclave is 1.5k. You mentioned on a previous video you only do this one day a week, so I'm guessing it is? Thank you ☺️
Hi Jim 👋 yes that's right, 1 to 2 days a week as my kids are quite young 😀 I've been a fhp since 2019 so started before I had my kids, works round family life perfect 🥰. Whether it's worth it, for me it was for the above reasons. It's different for everyone. I will definitely do a video on these questions you've asked as a few have asked the same. Regarding the autoclave. I have a video coming out today about my one. But different autoclave are different prices. But a good video topic to discuss 🤔. Jess 😊

Hi Jess, i've came across your video. I also have 2 young kids and looking for somethi g to work round school etc. Can i ask how you got into foot health care , was it a college course or a course you can pay for to become qualified if this makes sense?.

Regarding the course, most are online modules you complete as a distance learner which makes it so much easier when you have kids, after you pass the theory part, you will do clinical training which is usually 2 weeks practical at the training providers premises. It's the neat thing I've do e and can definitely say it's helps working around my kids. Feel free ro browse my videos as I have a lot of information. If there is something specific that you can't find, let me know and I'll make a video on it x x
