    1- Seats; get a seat that would support you throughout the ride and cornering and of course safety.
    2- Harnesses; only recommended for track days and legal during tourist days.
    3- Roll Cage - Adds rigidity and of course safety is our number one priority.
    4- Suspension - minimum two way suspension. Adjusting compression and rebound.
    5- Wings - Chicken wings from KFC to be precise. More aero more stability. Don’t rice out the car.
    6- Engine Oil Cooler
    7- DSG Cooler
    8- Engine coolant pack
    9- Advanced brake cooling
    10- Better driver

    6:50 if the coilover is 2-way adjustable it’s usually the LOWSPEED compression and rebound that you can adjust, not the highspeed
    For highspeed (compression) adjustable you’ll need a 3-way

    The rear lip on a hatch and some passenger cars will help a lot even without a front splitter. Most cars are creating lift at such speeds and a simple thing like that or gurney will help a lot. It's enough for basic non-aero car.

    for most cars that dont have break cooling kits you can relatively easily build it yourself or have a someone build it for you.

    • @filip000
      @filip000 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Agree, especially because of the fact that a different antiroll bar can dramatically change the whole car. In my example, the stock 370z is set up for quite a bit of understeer from factory. Just by changing the rear antiroll bar for a stiffer one, the car suddenly has 0 understeer issues. It's just amazing what you can do with a simple and cheap mod.

    11:23 great point on every aspect of the car. Don't add a front or rear spoiler if you don't also do the other side. Don't do a front strut brace if you won't add a rear strut brace. Don't just do stiffer stabilizer front, but rear one as well. Etc. In front or rear heavy cars, the focus might shift a little bit, but it's still a good rule of thumbs to always implement improvements not just on one, but both axles.
    The worse "offense" in that regard is when you see an already front-heavy car with removed rear seats etc. Dude, you've just made your weight balance worse, lol. Like with this Golf, if you're at least going to use the feed space to add a cage, which also adds weight (balance) back, that's a good deal... but not with a front heavy car and a completely emptied rear.
    Further improvements for front heavy cars would be carbon or GFK hood and/or fenders, LiPo battery, etc. - I decreased front weight of mine by about 30, 40 kg, and while it's still front heavy, that was a MASSIVE improvement in driveability.

    • @neversettle7666
      @neversettle7666 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      One point regarding sway bars / stabilisers, this is certainly an acception to the rule.
      Same point for stripping weight out of a vehicle, this can be accommodated for with set up. Some of the fastest FWD time attack cars in the world don't have a 60/40 weight distribution, or even close to it. Your point around relocating items such as battery etc to the rear and adding lightweight front panels on a front heavy car is a good idea, and often overlooked on cars like the GTI.

    Is it really a good idea to fit the seatbelts for 2 people on an half cage, fixed normally with 3 M8 8.8 bolts per side on the rear wheelhouse? I never would use them. A full cage ok. And, for German street legality you need to take the stock lower mounting points for the belts in the rear.

    Hey Misha! This is great video and a great series, to be honest I was waiting for such videos! I've got a couple of questions about bucket seats, harnesses and cages/roll bars. Is it safe in your opinion to go with bucket seat and harness in case where original seat has an airbag in seat? Would the airbag system work i.e. other airbags would deploy during the accident if the original seat is missing? The case is car that is daily driver which is driven on track pretty often. Also another question about brake cooling like the pipes you've shown: if I haven't got access to 'fresh air' and I don't want to cut my bumper then would it make sense to place the pipes behind some cooler? My reasoning about this is: there should be airflow there, the air behind oil cooler will have higher temperatures, but still it would be lower than brake pad/rotor/caliper temp so it would cool down the brakes eventually, but not as efficient as 'fresh air'?

    • @thijss1272
      @thijss1272 ปีที่แล้ว

      correct me if i'am wrong. but you can remove the original seat+airbag but you have to add a resistor so the car thinks it still has seat airbags. if you have an error code none of the airbags will go off..

    • @Cybuch44
      @Cybuch44 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thijss1272 ye you can do that. On the other hand I'm afraid that I could mess something up or the insurer would found out about this after crash and could raise an issue to not pay for the damage, so I'm not sure if that's the best way to go?

    If all goes well, this year im coming for the first time to the track, but i won't be upgrading my car yet. Especially given the fact that i'm a bloody beginner and i will be babying around the track to get used to it and start learning the basics of driving. I think for the first few couple of dozens of slow laps i should be fine with my new Abarth, as long as i'm not pushing it anyway.
    However i would be really interested to know how i check tire pressure and if i should strictly go with manufacturer recomendations or have a bit higher or lower pressure. Also on this topic i would like to know if i need to have some sort of tool to check or even refill my tires right outside of the track or if i can go to a nearby gas station to do so.
