4:17 Should it be on the compression stroke or does it not matter? I just did the assembly and realized that the three marks just line up wenn I am not on the compression stroke.
My Grandson and I disassembled my old 1972 CB450K5 last year, and will be starting the rebuild in a month. Do you have a source for the cam chain tensioner sprocket, as I cannot find just that. Mine is roached out completely round, and I really would like to replace the sprocket alone(rather than the entire tensioner) due to cost. If you can point me to a source for this sprocket, any pointers on removing and replacing the flare pin that holds it on would also be greatly appreciated! Subbed as well guys, excellent series you have created here! PS...I went to your provided link above, but I didn't see the part I need.....The sprocket I am referencing is here 16:37
I hear you talk about Phillips screw heads.. They are JIS and not Phillips.. That's why you have trouble removing or installing them if you don't have the correct tools.
I am confused here as to why what appears to be the oil pump assembly keeps getting referred to as the oil filter - I do not see a filter element in here at all.
Looking at picking up a basket case 1982 CB450SC. It's what my dad had when I was in high school. I learned to ride a street bike on that thing and got my motorcycle license (back in 1987). Are there a lot of differences between that motor and the earlier CB450's?
All 5 parts are all so well done it brings tears...Wish I'd still have my 450 1970..This would make a great project ..
Thanks so much for completing this series! Very detailed. Much appreciated. Cheers
Glad we could show the process!

i may be wrong but shouldn't there be 2 washers in copper?
4 the rest great video's !
Great videos! How did you get the parts so clean?
How did you get everything so clean and shiny? I'm getting ready to tear apart a 74 CL450 an can't imagine it ever looking that clean!

Just a slip up! We use appropriate JIS bits and screwdrivers to remove them. The trouble comes from the age, thank you for pointing this out!
@@Common-motor Just wanted to let other people know too, so they might have an easier time if/when doing this themselves. :-)
I have no mark on the intake cam is there a trick to lining it up
Did the cases need to be opened up to get the cam chain in?
Where can I purchase a new wheel for the cam chain tensioner? And how do you replace it?

Do the tick marks on the camshafts have to be dead on or can one be slightly out ?
great videos to try and make the old hondas live again. any chance that you could do a transmission assembly video ?
Which bike are you looking to have rebuilt? Tell us we are always open to it!
@@Common-motor a 1971 or 1972 CB or Cl 450 .
We'll keep it in mind!
Save yourself some trouble with the cam chain, turn your engine upside down!

Yes, they are completely different animals. 450sc is based on the cb400t. Tough to get parts for.
@@Common-motor Oh, that's too bad. Well, I enjoyed the videos anyway! Keep up the good work.
Where'd you get the nice engine bolts at?
