One of my favorite Christmas memories is bringing out the Swedish angle chimes. You lit a tealight at the bottom, and it would spin around and ring a bell.
Hi Rob and Dottie, glad you had a good Christmas with friends looks like you all had a nice time. Just got back home myself from a fine North Idaho Christmas with family. I thing sometimes its The Who we spend the holiday with that is the most important. I was just thinking on the way home tonight, that 20 years ago today I spent the Christmas of 2004 with my Mother, Grandmother and aunts and uncles and cousins. Now those people are mostly passed away, but I still have the memory of that 20 years ago Christmas with all of them. I sure am thankful for that memory, it makes the present ones all the more sweet. The people we spend time with are far more important than the gifts we get and give for sure. I always think I will forget what was given and got, but not who the time was spent with. Rob I sure enjoy your videos I have been watching for some time now, and I am going to be coming down to Quartzite for the first time in a couple weeks in my truck camper from North Idaho!!! So excited, I have been wanting to come down there for over 5 years now, finally its going to happen. Sure hope to see you and Dottie there! Chris in Post Falls
That guy at the tire place was awesome!! He made my day when he fixed my tire. You came to my rescue too Rob, thank you again😊 Thank goodness Cheryl also met up with a caring soul. Merry Christmas my Friends!🎄Miss you all💙
Thank you for your christmas stories and beautiful views of the desert! I Remember being 9 years old and deciding to out smart Santa by hiding behind the couch so I could catch him when he got to my house. I was being so sneaky! But somehow I fell asleep on the floor behind the couch and woke up in my bed and Santa had snuck in during the night!
I always love your stories, it helps to know you. I love it when you have Cheryl on as well. . I also like seeing you guys talk up closer like that. Sometimes it's nice to see faces. More Cheryl talks. Maybe Cheryl can tell a story some time! Can you please also say Merry Christmas to Michael, he watches all of your videos.
Merry Christmas! It's fun to reminisce about the past. One of the Christmases I always remember is when I was about 6 years old and I got a Patty Playpal doll. You held her hand and she walked next to you. Nice that you guys eat together to celebrate. Love the hat Debra!!!
Hi Rob….when I was little, me, my brother, and my Mom lived with her parents for about 10 years. One of those years we decided the night we were gonna decorate the tree to cook our dinner over or in the fire in the fireplace. My Uncle was there with his Keeshond (breed) dog….we decided on hotdogs and used long expanding forks…..my mom took her time cooking her hotdog to get it just perfect…..she turned her head to grab her bun….Misty, the dog, came up on her side and snatched that hot dog so fast! My mom turned around to put her dog in the bun and it wasn’t there….We would often talk about that year other years in the future.
The couple things i remember about xmas when i was young was the ribbon candy every year . ( I have not seen any in 60 years. ) Also the big string of lights that had a glass tube that once heated up had bubbles flowing through it. Those were a 1950 s thing . Neat to hear you were born and brought up , outside of Rochester , New York. I was also. Home of the Kodak cameras.
grew up in a small town in pa in the 60s every year people would meet in the square and sing carols together on the weekend before christmas ,one xmas i woke up to a red 10 speed huffy bike what a memory , happy holidays
Merry Christmas, Rob. I always thought it was TOAD, too. To be honest, I never understood what it meant. I thought it was an acronym but never could figure it out 🤣
I love that you had those Christmas memories. I honestly don't remember Dad reading those stories on Christmas Eve, but I love that he apparently did! One memory I have is not actually my own, but one that Dad had about me. Apparently in the very early 1950s there were dolls that looked like brides and baby (Tiny Tears?) dolls in the shops, and when Mom and Dad brought me to see Santa, I sat on his knee and asked for a combo "I want a bride doll that wet her pants." OMG!
Merry Christmas Rob. Yes I have great memories of our family Christmas that Started in the mid 1950s and it lasted to early 1970s. Our family would go to by Dads brothers house In Chino California all of my dads family including cousins on Christmas eve. And we would exchange gifts and have dinner. My Uncle who we had the get together passed away in 1971. So we started having Christmas eve get togethers at his sisters house in Lakewood California That went on for a few years then stopped almost all my dads family moved to different areas. I always looked forward to our Christmas Eve get togethers. We got together for BBQs and picnics during the years but Christmas eve stood out more. All of my dads family are dead including my mom and dad except my cousins. Every year talk to my cousin who's parents did the christmas eve get togethers I told him we need to start the tradition again. But everyone is spread apart. So it never happens. My second cousins don't know what they are missing. And my dad had one of those 8mm camera and he filmed some of those Christmas get togethers and the picnics. I cherish those videos and memories.
Hi again Rob….I forgot to tell you something I heard today about TH-cam…..A channel that I watch was live today and they were talking about the different things that can help or hurt a channel….thumbs up, comments, etc…..One thing they said that will hurt….when people fast forward or speed up the playback…..I know you said you’ll put on 2 x’s speed….when you do that, instead of the channel getting credit for the whole video being watched…..they only get credit for 1/2 or less…..So, please don’t be telling people to ff thru or play on faster speed, you’re hurting your channel’s viewing credits. When I heard that, I said, I need to tell Rob.

Merry Christmas Rob!
Thanks for driving my friend. Merry Christmas 🎄
I want to hear a Christmas story from you.
Gifts were so simple back then. At 54 years old some of these children's gifts are hundreds of dollars. Take care. I loved today's story, thank you.
Merry Christmas Rob & Miss Dottie & George! 🎄

I have to watch fully later I am at work 😅 I will comment again when I can watch it all the way through
Okay I was able to watch it through. Cool beans you won money for the buffet 😅❤
A tow behind vehicle is spelled “toad” even though it should be “towed”. That’s how you would google it if you want one.
Rob. Searched eBay for your “bird in a cage” Christmas Ornament but no luck as you described.
Toad is a play on words.
