On your statistics discussion, I always love how correlation does not equal causation. Fun fact-pot holes in roads are correlated to high teen pregnancy rates, but pot holes in the road don’t cause pregnancy. High rates of poverty are the linking contributing factor to both high teen pregnancy rates and increased pot holes in road.
Wish I had taken a course on how to read studies - I had to figure it out for myself. Often the conclusion is what the funder wants even if the data does not support it. "This product is harmful because it has arsenic in it." one part in 3 million is not mentioned in that conclusion. The harmful dose is 10 parts per billion, which they don't mention.
Critical Thinking (what a concept) - Stat. Class should be a high school requirement.
