Arab Archery describes shooting 10 small arrows simultaneously (and does not describe feathers on the arrows) it is like a shotgun, you shoot so many arrows that it is not about precision, one of them probably hit !!!
Power from each arrow is very low but if arrows were poisonous (as many historical arrows were) then arrows hitting in the face or other unprotected areas could be dangerous.
Shooting fast 10 handfuls of 10 arrows are not described anywhere in historical sources, I tried to see if it was possible.
It was possible and whether it has any practical use, it is quite fun!!
Very much is questionable and can certainly be discussed.
Shooting multiple arrows simultaneously is historically controversial.
Is it a trick without practical use?
I doubt there is any historical idea in shooting 2 or 3 arrows at the same time.
If you compare shooting 2-3 arrows quickly one by one, then you get much much higher power and precision by arrow shot one by one, and it takes much longer to put several arrows on the string at the same time to be ready for to shoot.
So you can fast shoot the same number of arrows at the same time, with much higher power and precision, so why shoot 2-3 arrows simultaneously ?
10 arrows at a time is of course debatable too.
Very little power and you use a huge number of arrows.
But if the purpose is to spread as many arrows as possible, then you may only need, very quickly made arrows in poor quality.
Although I very much doubt it was widespread in history that archer shot several arrows at once, I thought it was a fun idea with so many arrows and would share it with others too.

I think that, these arrows were shot down from a tower or from fortress. The speed of arrows must increase due to gravity. If the arrows were shot correctly with an angle of more than 0 degree (to increase distance as the speed is low), they could deal a lot of damage. But this might not work while shoting a target above.
That's what I think. As during battle on fortress, enemy need to come from the battlefield to the fortress which must be quite a distance, and shooting moving target is already tough. This must be used to defend.

Just give Lars a stronger bow, shaper and lighter arrows to increase the momentum and range of each arrows

Ah yes, the "if I throw enough arrows at them, AT LEAST ONE of them will hit an opening" approach.
And for those without armor, the "death by a hundred needles" approach.
I think with that low draw weight bow, piercing cloth might be an achievement. Sure you could penetrate venerable area like eyes or mouth, but if you shoot a chest, even people with ordinary clothing might get slightly irritated and move on anyway. If a 120lbs warbow struggle to penetrate mild steel armor, and 60lb bow couldn't even damage a cloth armor, I don't think this bow could kill a person.
@@muhamadsayyidabidin3906 I dont think it would go through a linen gambeson, but to be fair he basically says himself it has little penetrating power and isnt historically accurate. It's just a 'for fun' piece.
You can strategically maneuver enemy soldiers through arrows in one direction. This would be the ultimate tool ^^

It’s a common skill of ancient arabian archery, you can learn it once you reach level 45.

I know a 30-50lbs bow can take out large game and or people, I know some poisons only need to be injected under the skin to be lethal. I’m just not impressed with the fake Hollywood, look at me BS. Especially with a bow my two year old can shoot.

@@lorekeeper685 yup, it this case the only empire that could pass that arrow Rain would be ottomans. Also ottomans use arrowheads carved in a shape to make a sharp sound when flying, too many enemy soldiers gave up mentally before the war begins

@@TheLegend-bk3ps the lighting is the same, they scaled one of them, and at the end he does the same hand movement and puts it up to his head in the same exact way. they scaled one and they cut it out so no one would notice it's the same clip.

The second one shot the first set of arrows before the third one but they both shot their second set of arrows at the same time. Which means that its 10 different takes(well those two are different atleast so im assuming that the rest are different also).

I would think this tactic was useful for breaking up/slowing down charges or that sort of thing. It's clearly not very powerful but if a line of archers shot 300+ arrows per minute it would definitely add some chaos at least

No it wouldn't. It would be a complete waste of arrows. Each arrow added to the same bow divides the energy of the bow more. Making the arrows harmless.

Historical Archery channel made a response video about this. He did some calculations and got a theoretical FPS is 1/3 of a single arrows’ speed. If this Grozer bow produces 150 FPS, then 10 arrows shot together is 50fps
