    Hi there! Just a correction - I accidentally pronounced Farid Fata’s last name incorrectly in this video. Also, my apologies for the video quality of my talking footage looking rough. This was my third time re-filming this as I was having some major technical difficulties with the camera I was using. Anyway, it is currently Blood Cancer Awareness month and as a blood cancer patient myself, I’m glad to shed light on one of the most twisted cases of the blood cancer doctor who harmed and poisoned several patients. Hope you enjoy and let me know your thoughts on this case.🤎

      Hello! Fellow blood cancer patient here... I was diagnosed with MDS- Myelodysplastic Syndrome back in 2015, been going through various treatments & many blood transfusions since. It seems certain treatments get my blood counts under control, but their effectiveness eventually wears off & I'm back to needing frequent transfusions again. All in all though, I've managed to hang on much longer than I'd expected to. I'm fortunate to have the most amazing doctor at the Hillman Cancer Center in Pittsburgh, PA. His name is James Rossetti, & I absolutely love him & totally trust him with my life. He was my husband's doctor first... he had leukemia (ALL), back in 2005, & Dr. Rossetti & his team pulled him through, even though it was a very difficult case. It gave us 15 years we thought we wouldn't have. The "doctor" in this video is absolutely evil. I can't imagine a doctor treating their patients like this guy did. He deserves to rot in prison til his dying day. What was he thinking?? I enjoyed this video very much. You are very well spoken & your presentation was well detailed. I will subscribe. I wish you much success with growing your channel. 😊

    One diligent nurse noticed malpractice after ONE day on the job and swiftly reported him to the authorities. Unless all of his other nurses were new graduates, I don't understand why they would let him get away with this. This really makes me trust medical professionals even less, knowing how much they will keep quiet as patients are being actively harmed. The doctor who investigated him wasn't even going to report him, he was just going to quit and leave!

    • @PetalPalmer
      @PetalPalmer  ปีที่แล้ว +431

      For sure - I was definitely wondering more about the nurses. I’m for sure thinking a lot of them could’ve been recent graduates and were unaware that the doses were too high since Farid made it seem like it was a normal protocol but I’m not sure. I think I explained it a bit weird but Dr. Maunglay had actually already put in his resignation letter before he discovered Monica’s misdiagnosis. He was resigning due to Farid lying about enrolling the office in a program that they weren’t actually in and then it was after that when he discovered that in addition Farid was mistreating patients. And so he spent his last month trying to investigate some more and talking with the office manager so that he’d be able to gather enough information for a proper report it before he left.

      It's entirely possible he targeted new grad nurses only. And without any experience, a new nurse questioning such a known doctor would probably look and feel weird. I'm sure in hindsight, they suddenly understood.

      Hey there, I’m not that trusting of medical staff myself due to multiple instances where they’ve treated me horrendously. If you have an illness that doesn’t have a clear cut way for treatment or a cure, you’re usually in for a shitty ride, but saying that, I believe the lady (petal) mentioned that the asshole doctor mostly hired low paid international staff 25:45 and not even for important stuff. He would see up to 70 patients a day and would not let any other doctors treat them.
      I’m not dissolving them by any means, like I said this hush hush culture, especially with “celebrity doctor’s”, is disgusting, but I don’t know for sure if this was the case here.
      But you’re definitely right that alot of people have the attitude of just “not wanting to get involved “, and just wanting to leave, no matter what oath they took. SMH 🤦🏼‍♀️

Good for him for having the courage to tell the patient the truth, even going against his own boss - so many people wouldn't do that, they'd either be too afraid, or they'd be willing to go along with it to make money, etc. I really respect this doctor for actually taking his job as a physician seriously.

    I worked for one of the best cancer centers in my state. What bothered me so much was our oncologists knowingly could have saved more lives if they referred some of the patients to Duke. They knew there were treatments available in Duke, that we didnt offer, which could have saved lives of many of the patients who died! But like the doctors said, "everytime a patient steps thru that door, thats an automatic $12,000 bill." I find it sickening how lives mean nothing to doctors who have no ties or attachment to the patient

      I once worked at a hospital where a heart surgeon was making patients crash so he could "rescue" them. Administration looked the other way at first because he was bringing so much money into the hospital, and then word got out in the community that this hospital had a heart surgeon who was killing people. This place already had one medical serial killer (although he's not believed to have actually killed anyone there) so they really didn't need another. Last I heard, he's STILL PRACTICING!
      This doctor sounds like he may have had some version of Munchausen's syndrome.

      My mother died as a direct result from medical malpractice at 57 in Kelowna general hospital in Kelowna BC Canada. They made her suffer for weeks until she passed. You can’t trust medical professionals in any goddamn country. You just have to hope and pray that the one that you have is doing the right thing. I believe that every one of them will eventually answer for what they have done on the day that they die on judgement day. They will likely burn in hell for eternity just for the money they made here on earth.

    What Dr. Fareed did was downright evil.
    My grandma died after being treated for lung cancer that had metastasisized and spread to her brain. She was 85 and had already survived breast cancer 10 years before and open heart surgery only 2 years before. Her own parents died horrible deaths post chemo but her oncology advised she and my uncle and mother who were present that "today's [2016] chemo & radiation is much more advanced than the treatment back then so she will tolerate this treatment well."
    So instead of palliative care she was put on an aggressive treatment protocol. Before this she was mostly wheelchair bound due to Venus insufficientcy but was happy and still herself. She could read, go out with family, the month before being diagnosed she flew from Arizona to New York to see her cousin who she grew up with who was like a sister to her. Her cousin suffered from dementia but my grandma loved her so and kept in touch by phone until she couldn't communicate like that anymore and my grandma planned and took the last trip to see her. Her cousin couldn't understand much but my grandma sat with her and held her hand quietly, speaking occasionally in a soft tone.
    She didn't end it with goodbye, she said see you later.
    Then after that she went to Disneyland with several of her grandkids. Then the treatment started. She wanted to see the beach one more time but after the treatment began she deteriorated rapidly. She lost so much weight and could barely eat and went from plump to frail and looking like a skeleton in a matter of months.
    She always loved Starwars and the franchise had just been rebooted and I wanted to take her but work ruined my plans one night and after that it was too late because every night after that she was too sick. (To this day I regret putting work first. It was only one day but I feel like I lost so much).
    At this point her body was failing rapidly but then they started radiation and it was like they turned that up to 11 and stole her mind and joy as well. After radiation started she didn't tolerate it for long before they put her on hospice where she was delirious and in pain. Crying for her mother. I'd come to read to her and could tell that she wasn't really able to absorb what I was saying but I think she liked hearing my voice there anyway.
    Finally she died but not before being robbed of her dignity and joy and multiple final bucket list items (to see the beach, visit her cousin again, go see Starwars) all of which were attainable if she hadn't been put on a treatment that was inappropriate to start with.
    I don't know why they did that to her instead of putting her on palliative care except for to gain thousands from medicaid from the treatment that made her final months torture.
    It didn't have to be like that. She could have been put on a hospice plan and continued enjoying her life and family in her last year but that oncologist's greed stole that from her and our family.

      You brought tears to my eyes. I am so sorry for your loss and how things transpired. My aunt was diagnosed with lung cancer at 89. She never smoked but my uncle did for years. They ran all these treatment protocols by her and she flat out said no. She stayed in her home until she went into hospice.
      My father started having problems at 90. He had recovered from lymphoma seven years before but with deficits from the treatment that really bothered him. They started doing tests and one day he went down to the office in his assisted living and signed up for hospice. The doctors were all bent out of shape but both of them felt they had had a full life and didn't want the indignity.
      The doctors, hospitals and drug makers all make a fortune off bullying the elderly and their families into highly toxic chemo and debilitating radiation protocols. I've known much younger stronger people that were wiped out by this stuff. I'm really sorry she missed her bucket list items, she sounds like an awesome person I'd have been honored to know.

      Same thing happened to my dad, almost. He suffered ever since treatment. But his cancer was aggressive as well. Now my stepmom is stuck with $13,000 in medical bills which his life insurance will all go towards.
      I miss my dad so much. I’m glad he didn’t go through with the radiation. He was too weak and still they wanted to put him through it. The worst part was seeing him in all that pain. It was hard to tell what was from the cancer and what was from treatment.

No matter your role In health care - Whether a RN, MD, CNA, US…. Speak up ! It can be hard - especially with attendings and the surgical specialty particularly as they tend to be so dismissive and flippant and overall confident not to mention. It was too much.
    She's alive and cancer free nowadays, but she presents such an extreme degree of bone/teeth decay that always gets doctors/dentists impressed.

      For context, people are sent to places like this by a "queue" system stablished by the public healthcare. It’s some kind of partnership that happens between some private clinics and the public healthcare.
      Refusing this treatment would mean to be placed in the end of the queue again, wait months to be sent to any clinic/hospital that matched her needs and since the referrals are based on the place you live, she probably would be sent to this same "protocol" clinic.

    As a nurse this really makes my stomach turn, knowing what side effects these medications will cause. It saddens me how so many nurses didn't speak up or really did not understand how these treatments were unneccesary, but I can kind of see how it could happen. The thing is that treatment protocols really do vary from one institution to another a lot and it is nothing out of the ordinary. Then it's also very difficult to go against a person of authority who knows they are doing wrong, since they would be able to document the treatments in a way that would make them seem valid even to other professionals. Still, it should speak to you as a human when a patient is suffering so badly, it should make you question if this is the right treatment for them.

    We do our children wrong to tell them there are no such things as monsters, yet most of us do it in innocence...either we think it's best not to scare a child or we honestly believe it ourselves ...but it's still a dangerous, dangerous lie. Maybe we should teach children young that monsters, most of the time, look just like the rest of us. Then maybe, just maybe, when kids grow up to be adults, they will look a little (or a lot) closer into the history of their medical practitioners, therapists, service people, landlords, educators, etc...anyone they need to be able to trust. There is nothing wrong with trust coming on the heels of verification, is there?

    • @PetalPalmer
      @PetalPalmer  ปีที่แล้ว +14

      That’s so true. It’s so easy to feel like one could trust somebody like a physician, especially with all of the years of studying and practice they put into becoming one. But regardless of one’s career, there are evil people everywhere so unfortunately not everyone can be trusted even if they take the Hippocratic oath to do no harm. I think as times have now changed and we’re now in the internet and social media era, things should hopefully be a lot better as people are likely able to do more thorough research on their medical providers, landlords, educators etc. online and are able to communicate with several others virtually on their experiences with said provider.

The mother bear in the Bernstein bears is cutting up apples and shows her daughter an oddly shaped one. There was also another ‘doctor’ in Texas who committed the most heinous crimes against his patients. He and his wife were from Iran. They came to America later in life and he opened a huge cancer clinic with a hematology clinic, where he would work up his own patients instead of having to send them across town for bloodwork at the hospital. One day, a lady who had recently been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, was returning from a trip and fell over her luggage, breaking her leg. She was taken to a hospital close to her home. She was seen by a doctor who just so happened to work at the same cancer clinic of the Iranian doctor and he was comparing her chart from their cancer laboratory to the hospital lab results. She didn’t have cancer. The doctor was fixing lab work to show positive cancer. The doctor was shocked and he knew immediately his colleague was committing medical fraud. There were many people hurt by this cancer doctor. He and his wife fled back to Iran.

    My grandma died at 81 from metastatic stomach cancer. Her oncologist didn’t talk to her like a human being. He told everything to us and hardly looked at her. Great that you put forward this information. There seems to be a flaw in the system that allows one doctor to be involved in all the different levels of diagnosis , treatment, care, and then even hospice. There is so much conflict of interest when a psychopathic crook is given free rein to wreak such havoc. The medical establishment should be investigated. They too are out of control.

      don’t have endo as far as im aware but I’ve got fibro and holy shit. medical malpractice is so common amongst women. went in for chronic pain. had one blood test done. no referrals no nothing except suggesting going on antidepressants (I DON’T HAVE CLINICAL DEPRESSION.) got told I was nothing but sensitive. only via a physiotherapist did I learn just what the fuck was wrong with me. AFTER NEARLY TWO YEARS STRAIGHT OF BEING IN PAIN. can’t sue or do shit because it looks like nothing is wrong

      I second this. Took 8 years to get diagnosed because every gynecologist i spoke to refused to do the diagnosis hysteroscopy just because i was ‘too young’. Even though i’ve had chronic pain and uncontrollable periods for years. And the only thing anyone ever wants to prescribe for treatment are useless antidepressants and opiates (which are highly addictive, dangerous, and stop you from functioning normally in your daily life)

    • @fmazerolol
      @fmazerolol 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@EosinophyllisI suggest you read what medical malpractice means before throwing jabs at doctors for it.
      Im guessing by your statement that your disease is fibromyalgia (You say Fibro and endo as if a prefix suffices to explain which medical condition you speak of), which is a hard enough to diagnose disease in many, and just as hard to treat. Not every physician deals with patients with "Fibro" on a day to day, or even month to month basis, which is why its a disease that goes under the radar quite often. Some physiotherapists may actually have several fibromyalgic patients, so they may recognise the symptoms with more ease than most physicians.
      Also note that antidepressants ARE part of the array of drugs used to treat fibromyalgia. Antidepressants are actually used for several chronic pain related illnesses.
      So now that youve (hopefully) read up on the term medical malpractice, and understand a teeny bit more about your disease, are you still so sure yours was a case of malpractice?

    • @elizahope456
      @elizahope456 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@fmazerolol I see what you’re saying, and it is definitely important to understand the definition of medical malpractice, however, the rest of your comment was really dismissive and condescending. If a dr incorrectly diagnoses you, you could have a medical malpractice case. If a dr fails to order the proper testing, you could have a medical malpractice case, etc. Medical malpractice is not a one size fits all term, as there are so many different kinds of medical malpractice, you just need a good lawyer to be able to undeniably prove it. Also, Fibromyalgia is a very common condition to have, so it’s really not an excuse for a doctor to not “know” much about it. It is literally in their job description to be educated and aware of these things, and if they don’t have the answers, then their job is to refer the patient to another doctor who might.
      Historically, women have been given the diagnosis of “mentally ill” time and time again, have been diagnosed with some & their pain has been dismissed because of this. Women literally used to get diagnosed with “female hysteria.” To assume a patient is dealing with clinical depression instead of acknowledging that they are feeling real physical pain is irresponsible. It doesn’t matter if the treatment is the same or not, its negligent to be treat a patient without the right diagnosis.
      I suggest YOU stop judging people’s medical issues & situations based off of one youtube comment before making such condescending remarks.

    I had to get a few infusions for a non cancer condition. Even the lady at the front desk was willing to mention her concerns when she noticed the procedure was scheduled to take longer then normal. The reason was all the checks and balences the facility does before a needle gets anywhere near the patient. So if a desk clerk is willing to question the doctor theres no excuse for other doctors and nurses to raise concerns.

    …also, can we start including people like this doctor in lists about serial killers?? If they are found to knowingly harm another which leads to their death, how are they any different to serial killers who poison their victims for their own gain? They should receive the same types of sentences as them. There are plenty of medical staff with antisocial personality disorder (i.e plenty are psychopaths) out there, and they have easy access to means of harming and killing their patients. It’s ridiculous that there is not better oversight and stricter punishment to deter them from causing harm!

      The medical profession is a magnet for serial killers, because there's a pretty low risk of getting caught. It's a job where some of their patients are inevitably going to die no matter what, so odds are people just aren't going to notice a few extra. That's why it's a profession that needs a huge amount of scrutiny.

As a retired RN, I know first hand about the seemingly godlike hold doctors have on their patients. It takes a lot of effort to be heard when raising the call against these people. This reminds me of the pharmacist Courtney out of Kansas City that did the exact opposite and under treated cancer patients by deliberately mixing very low percentages of ordered chemotherapy amounts, so that he could "stretch" the drug he had purchased and pocketed the difference. I like your delivery style and the great research you did on reporting this complex case. Keep up the good work!.

    I need to pause this issue for a minute. Was the doctor the only one investigated/penalized?
    Initially I could write off anyone else’s involvement until two things were mentioned: no supporting tests/documentation that would warrant these tests/treatments. As well as the mentioning of the various insurance companies that were scammed.
    I used to be a certified medical coder. Ironically, my mom owned her own medical billing company. Though we never worked together .
    I can all but guarantee he had assistance from others who had to be aware of his scam.
    For every single claim filed to insurance must include the appropriate medical code in order for insurance to reimburse. Even back then! Insurance has obnoxious hoops you must jump through before they’ll even consider paying these types of prices. If there’s no documentation in the medical record to support the doctors actions, then there sure as shit isn’t enough to get an insurance company to pay for it! Someone had to code that stuff. If the documentation isn’t there, how the hell did it get filed/billed?!

    The way he kept patients away from other doctors is horribly familiar. My friend had a primary care doctor who used HIPAA to spy on her patients, and she contacted every doctor my friend went to. And since my friend was very sick - and the doctor was ignorant, irrational, possibly nuts, and apparently very persuasive - this turned out to be lethal. I wish she could have seen a doctor like Dr. Maunglay.
    I can't believe Fata was only accused of fraud. How about hundreds of counts of malpractice, theft, poisoning, torture, and probably murder.
    It's funny how the insurance companies just went along with him. These same companies have been known to do things like claim that a wheelchair is not medical necessary for someone with no legs. And they also prefer to prevent patients from getting essential tests for as long as possible. Their theory is if they delay the patient, then the patient will go away (i.e. die). And yet they handed tons of cash to Fata. Maybe fake cancer looks more convincing then real cancer. But why pay for unusual treatments? Bribery?
