Song for the Close of School 「仰げば尊し」の原曲 kathy

卒業式に定番の「仰げば尊し」が歌われなくなったのは、いつのころからでしょうか。お世話になった先生への「謝恩の唄」ですが、これと全く同じメロディの曲がアメリカにあるのを日本の研究者がつい10年ほど前に見つけました。1871年のアメリカの音楽教材に載っていたとのことです。
タイトルは Song for the Close of School 。
こちらは恩師への感謝の歌ではなく、学校生活を終えるにあたり、ともに学びながら成長したクラスメートとの別れを歌った「惜別の歌」です。
「卒業」の線ではつながっていますが...。

When did the classic Japanese song "Aogeba Tootoshi" stop singing at the graduation ceremony? It's a "thank you song" to the teacher who took care of us, but it was only 10 years ago that a Japanese researcher found a song with the exact same melody in the United States. It appeared in an American music teaching material in 1871, and the title is Song for the Close of School.
This is not a song of gratitude to my teacher, but a song of farewell to classmates who have learned and grown up together at the end of school life.
