Thank you for this MX dad. My son topped up his tank with degreaser while I was out. This video gave the the confidence to start, and now its running again. I lived in SA for 20 years, so the accent was like listening to my teachers at school. Thanks a million for the class.
Thank you so much!!! I’ve had several issues with my sons 2014 ktm 50 and was told it was a stator. The ignition coil. The clutch. Needless to say I’ve spent a pretty penny trying to get it to stay running. I’ve watched a few videos on cleaning the carburetor and done it a few times. Your explanation of cleaning the carburetor has lead me to find the 85 jet completely clogged. After cleaning it and reinstalling. The bike runs like a champ again! Great explanation for the average dad needing help.
Love the videos. Keep up the good work. I'm definitely not mechanically minded but my boys KTM is just coming upto hours where it needs some checks/maintenance. These help. Any more videos of other things greatly appreciated.
The seepage through the carb gasket is normal I think. I have a 2021 SX and it does the same. I think the fuel saturates the gasket so regardless of how tight the screws are, it will still 'seep'.
Wow awesome videos! Just subscribed! Really hoping 🙏that you can make a video showing the replacement of fork seals and wipers! I have not been able to find anything on these KTM 50 Air forks.
Fuel seepage through the gasket is normal for these carbs, theres a thread on ktmtalk about it. I fitted an aluminium race bowl and it does the same. The black bits in the tank come off the production line. Our 2021 SX filled the manifold with fuel because the black plastic swarf prevented the float shutting it off. For the huge cost, youd think there would be some attention to detail.....

The KTM50, have a fuel filter on the fuel tap, in the fuel tank is self. .
Are you running the same fuel mix between the Husky and KTM 50:1?
It's there any particular reason to mix the fuel 50:1? I have been following the manual and it says 60:1. Thanks!
Some people prefer a richer mix which isn't a problem if you regularly service the bike. The older bikes run better on 50:1
You have inspired me to do vids with my daughter we both enjoy ur vids ur very knowledgable check my daughters page any feedback would be great
