My child is fouling plugs every 1.5 to 2 hours as he inly puts along and never really hitting powerband. Should i adjust the needle to the second position like yours is and change iver jet sizes also to run a touch leaner? Just also noticed when I hop on it and go for a squirt... shes splattering on high rpm in powerband. Perfectly find prior to powerband though as soon as she comes to life it splatters. Will just adjusting needle position help or need both needle and jets?
Very very informative and helpful video.i was looking for this video in whole youtube but none of them were much informative and learnable.but i found your video and learned a lot of things.Thank you.
Hey Tim splutter at wide open is very common. Firstly If it has got worse after changing the plug make sure the cap is on correctly. You could try running a larger or smaller main jet. If you are currently running a 90 drop to an 85 and see what happens. If worse try a 95.
Hi James, thanks for the reply I ended up pulling the carb apart and the float had a hole in one side and was hanging off the metal like a loose tooth. Replaced this but had to order it in as no one holds this part but it’s running perfect now. Thanks
Hey mate I’ve put in the same jets as you put in, in the last vid, I haven’t adjusted the float as of yet though; the bike is running unreal but my idle fluctuates up and down, does the float affect this?
Hey there, firstly check your stator, I have a video for that one. It shouldn't be much to do with the needle clip position as the needle should be fully removed at wide open. I would also check your main jet and make sure your carb is clean
Hi James got a totally stock tc50 2020 model getting a lot of oil spooge out the rear exhaust running a fuel mix of 60-1 motorex oil Any suggestions Thanks
@@mikemx1544 yea maybe correct bro but same spec as the ktm init and aprilla if they still make there’s I’d use less oil slightly or up jet to suit she’s a premix bike isn’t she
i have a 2022 ktm50sx factory edition 98 main jet, 50 pilot. It sputters terribly at very start when we take it off the stand. sometime dies. once warm its fine.. ahhhh any help will save my brain
Hey Mike. I would firstly drop the pilot to a 48. These bikes will always fuel up when at idle, they need to be revved out with the back wheel off the ground before a race start situation. 98 main does also sound a bit large
Hey there, the needle sits in the main jet and slowly comes out as you turn the throttle. They both work together. The the higher the clip position the further it restricts the fuel flow

Hi James, I am getting a splutter at wide open throttle and it seems to have gotten worse after changing the spark plug. And advice ? Thanks

I’ve got all of these current settings but for some reason it’s not running unless the choke is on. All jest are cleaned and good

Hi No the float shouldn't make the effect. Have a play with the air screw, you might be able to get a steady idle with help from that
hi. great videos. my ktm50 2006 bogs down when hits full throttle, will this have anything to do with the needle position? or any other suggestions?

What’s the stock setting on these bikes? 2014?
