      Yes make sure you ONLY used the Honda DPF2 fluid. Anything else will squeal. If after a couple changes with Honda fluid the squeal is still there - then Element or newer CR-V diff will work. Element diff is beefier, but engagement time is the same. Newer CR-V diff is not beefier, but spool-up diff engagement is A LOT quicker than 1st gen CR-V or the Elements.

    The loops under the front bumper are not recovery points they are lashing points for securing the vehicle when being transported like on the back of a flat bed tow truck and were not made for recovering the vehicle. A tow bar at the rear is much more suitable for recovery as are recovery loops that come through the grill in the bumper. Not sure where to get the front ones but I'm making a set for mine. Over stressing the lashing points can cause them to fail which is dangerous. I recommend getting a tow bar for the rear of the CRV before getting a snorkel for the Pilot, I'd hate to see a vid of your rear Lashing point fail and the clevis go through the windshield of the Pilot. Saw it happen to a Jeep once and the driver got it in the face with a chain that took half his jaw off.

      It depends on what you are looking for. The crv has a timing chain, gets better mpg, and is generally cheaper to maintain. The Pilot seats up to 8 people and has a better awd system.

    Pretty amazing for those old CRVs. Are the places you attached the shackles to rated for recovery? Just checking because if they are too weak they could snap off and hurt somebody when under a load. Some of those things are just made to hold the vehicle down while in transport.

    • @GotterAdventure
      @GotterAdventure  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you have the AWD model then it is very similar and probably better. The main thing to watch out for is clearance.

    • @acephantom903
      @acephantom903 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is a slightly upgraded "4WD" AWD system if it is equiped. Very similar in performance except in situations where you have only 1 tire with traction in which it can give a percentage higher torque. And the nice thing about the 2015 is the air intake is higher sitting on top of the radiator plastic cladding. The main concern you will have with any off-roading is that the lowest part of the vehicle is the oil pan. You'll have to be mindful of it as anything you might do to protect it will rob you of ground clearance.
