  • This is an overview of an HP EliteBook x360 2-in-1 convertable notebook PC. In this video we'll cover the hardware features, specs, design as well as what I like and dislike about this notebook.
    This laptop was provided to me by my former workplace, however it is no longer in my posession as I left this job in September 2022. I filmed this on my last week of working there.

    Excellent Review!!
    That privacy feature is called "Sure View" and I'm glad you explained it so well, cause I didn't find this model with Sure View covered by many tech review sites apart from one called notebook check which tells it has a very slow response time of may be 74 ms which is worse than the 98% they've tested. So, for multimedia or office use or even casual gaming, the Hp Elitebook 1030 G3 might turn out to be the better deal.

    I really love your video; great analysis and review.
    You showed great expertise in this system and more.
    With that, could you help me sort out these problems with the system:
    1. How can install an application or apk outside of Microsoft store? The system (operating on windows 11pro) doesn't install any apk file or online app i download from a site and these apps are kot present in MS store.
    2. Two days after getting my HP EliteBook 1030, the f3 and f4 keys for adjusting brightness levels stopped working. A dialogue box showing "hotkey support" will pop up on the screen whenever i press either keys. How do I return the keys to original functionality?

    Great review! Do you suggest it for a fashion design student? Does the digital pen support drawing? Is it accurate enough for professional work?

    • @JackStavris
      @JackStavris  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The pen does support drawing, as far as I know it is a Wacom style pen so it should work with anything that supports those. However I’m not familiar with the accuracy of then pen.

    Looks like HP laptops evolved alot but i'd personally still get a Lenovo or a Dell if i had to buy a new laptop. I used to have a Pavilion from around 2015 that had an i7 5600U,16GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD,bought it with no preinstalled OS brand new in the store because i already had a Windows license then the fun started. Right after i installed Windows i had the luck of going to HP's website to find that there were no drivers for that particular model yet,and Windows didn't even have generic ones for it either. It took one whole month for the drivers to appear on HP's website and then it was fine,until i found out the WIFI was so bad that it only picked up 1-2 signal bars with the router in the same room while my old Lenovo N200 picked up full signal even outside the house. Battery on it was fine but if i left it unplugged for like 3 days fully turned off the battery would be completely dead for some reason. I know this is an Elitebook and they're a better class than the Pavilion but after those experiences it's still pretty hard for me to buy an HP again. I used non business grade Dell,Acer and Lenovo laptops and they weren't as bad as that Pavilion either. I was actually more happy when i sold it than when i bought it

    • @JackStavris
      @JackStavris  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think those issues are specific to HP, rather they're just issues related to cheaply made consumer grade junk. You're better off buying a used or refurbished business class laptop regardless of manufacturer. It might be a bit more money, but the quality is so much better.

    I'm late to this video i don't know if you still find my comment but as a nursing student this is one of my options to buy and i used it pretty much to make reports and presentations, but i was wondering if i can use it for studying instead of buying ipad pro because i really can't afford that, nursing doesn't have much work as medicine but it still needs alot of work, so do you recommend this one or if not do you know better options?

    • @JackStavris
      @JackStavris  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd say keep the HP, unless you need something specific the iPad can do, but otherwise these are still decent laptops. Keep in mind the iPad Pro doesn't come with a keyboard nor the pen whereas this does as it's an actual laptop.

    Why is the ram DDR3? For an 8th gen laptop shouldn’t it be DDR4? Also some people told me that this laptop’s screen often develops an issue…like there’s a slight yellow shade or tint and it’s not fully white. Did you experience this issue and would u recommend this laptop?

    • @JackStavris
      @JackStavris  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      8th gen chipsets can support both DDR3 and DDR4, as the RAM in this laptop is soldered I assume the DDR3 was a cost cutting measure by HP.
      I never experienced the yellowing of the backlight when I managed a fleet of these, so it may not be that widrspread. It really depends on what you’re looking for in a laptop and the price, but these are a good laptop but not perfect by any means.

      @@JackStavris i will be starting my undergrad in cs so need it for that. Can you recommend me a good laptop which costs about the same as this hp one? It has to be at least 8th gen i7 16gb ram and 256 ssd. Whats the best laptop i can get? Touch and x360 is preferred but not necessary.

    • @JackStavris
      @JackStavris  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Probably a ThinkPad T480 or T480s, can't really beat that one for the money tbh, not sure if touch was standard on those but is an option. The T480 series had upgradeable RAM, SSD and batteries as well as 8th gen processors (mostly) so they're a good value for the price.

    • @haisumharoon
      @haisumharoon 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@JackStavris btw then why is the t480s cheaper than this elitebook if it’s better? Ik price tag isn’t everything but still.

    • @JackStavris
      @JackStavris  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You just answered your own question. Lower price does not equal worse.

    • @JackStavris
      @JackStavris  ปีที่แล้ว

      Which one did you mean, the EliteBook 830 G6 or the EliteBook x360 830 G6? Both exist however the x360 version has the 360-degree hinge and can be used in tablet mode.
      I haven't used either model, however we did buy EliteBook x360 830 G8s towards the end of my time at that job, and my current one we have a small fleet of AMD-based EliteBook 835 G7s, both are nice laptops so if the G6 is like those I'd say it's decent.

      Should be suitable for most workloads just as long as you have a minimum of 16GB of RAM

      Not sure, what would your needs for it be? Things like RAM can't be expanded so if you need more than 16GB of RAM than maybe not.
