    After driving 4 Month’s my 330e it consumes 2.7l/100km. Belgium highways (130km/h) Not The german😉 of course. This car is at its best for The fuel consumption in The city and on secondary roads (till 90km/h)

    Can't wait! Getting this beast next month, in the exact same color, but with white interior. All monochrome, except the laser lights and M sport break calipers :D
    I did miss the bit about charging from this shorter review version: Type 2 only, 6 hours from wall plug, 3 hours from a Type 2 3.5 kW station. So don't expect to charge this while travelling - the charging is only really suited for commuters that charge up at home or at work. But for that it is just perfect - no need to overpay for huge battery that you only use a couple times a month.

    I have this curiosity about hybrid cars: If you start driving and go slow only electric. After 20min if it would be using the combustion engine he would be at temperature already, but in this case it stays cold because you were driving slowly only electric. What happens when you suddenly accelerate hard? The combustion engine revs while still being cold. Can it damage the engine or is it being heated up another way??

    It is best To push The hybrid button twice (eco pro mode) and then when you loose The throttle The car doesn’t loose ant speed, it Goes freewheeling which is very economical

    What does the 330e sound like from the outside? I heared it sounds like the 320i/330i because it is the exact same engine. Of course in m-sport package.

    Interesting that the boot floor can be stepped to allow some extra depth but in Australia the petrol 330i M Sport does not have any space below the boot floor as the previous F30 did. It is totally sealed off.

    • @autogefuel
      @autogefuel  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s a new feature of the all new generation, the boot floor is always lower. You can only put it down in the PHEV Because it is significantly more narrow

    • @sergiojippys3838

      Yes, but then The fuel consumption Will be 30%higher, around 12l/100km do it isn’t interesting

    I have ordered this as a company car the M Sport maxed out car. However, I cannot charge the battery with a wall charger at home but can you tell me if the battery charges itself while driving ?
    Also, with 0% charge in the battery and a full tank, how long could I go on this one? Consider speed of 170-200 km/hr. I am generally driving from Frankfurt to Ingolstadt.

    • @autogefuel
      @autogefuel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The engine can charge the battery, but thats not effective

    • @sergiojippys3838
      @sergiojippys3838 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      At The german autostrades with speed 170-200 you must count 15l/100km. The car isn’t driving on electricity on The autostrade. You can when you put The electric mode on instead off hybrid. But The The electric speed limit is 140km/h and The battery Will be very fast empty and also slow electric acceleration above 80km/h

      Hey I already got this car for almost 10 months now. It runs around 40km in full charge.
      With an empty battery and a tank full of gas I get around 350 - 400 mms but depends on how you drive.
      If you have charged it to full and your tank is full, you get around 400 - 460 kms again depending on how you drive.
      I think if you really drive it sweet - max speed 120km/hr, you can also get close to 500 km.
      But I usually get 360 - 400 km as I do not have an option to charge it at my home (only with regenerative braking).
      One cool trick I found - I used to get less power as well as less mileage when I used to drive in adaptive or hybrid mode. But when I drive in sport mode with not much power, I get more mileage. Super strange but true.

      @@harshvardhanagrawal Thanks for The tip! I can do Max 53km on full battery but in Belgium there is many traffic So speed limit is often 70km/h, autostrades in Brussels 100km/h

    How long does it take to charge this battery to full? Can one do it from a fast charger?

    • @autogefuel
      @autogefuel  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      depends on your charging method, DC is not supported. But battery is small, recharging wont be your problem

      Thanks for your reply, seems like not very attractive powertrain. Need to use two different methods of charging/refueling for maximum efficiency. I suppose this technology still has a very long way to go

    The 3 series is huge now! Seems like it’s as big as that 5 series was a few years ago. BMW makes too many models I feel.

    I think in hybrid mode, it goes up to 120 km/h.
    I am just wondering: if you switch back and forward from combustion to electric, won't that hurt the engine ? I mean the engine does not really like to start/stop all the time..

    • @autogefuel
      @autogefuel  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I did talk with engineering about that, the phev engines have some stronger more durable parts, and research showed that they do not fail more often than their non phev counterparts, that what they said

    I can see that this PHEV might be attractive for someone who is nervous about making the jump to full EV, but seems compromised to drive this electric, while hauling around the big fossil engine plus fuel tank, exhaust system, etc. Model 3 would be a better choice for electric.
