      Yes, I would! You have more fun, let other cars behind you on every traffic light and the sound is the same like the 330i since they removed the popping via an update. So I would go for the 330e.

      PHEVs in my opinion as the best middle ground as in the uk I don’t feel the infrastructure is ready for a large number of EV cars but they are certainly getting there

    My question is, does this car recharge whilst running on petrol? Or is the only method from plugging it in? I've heard previously that about 1% typically can be generated by the regenerative braking, but otherwise can you regenerate from running the petrol engine like in a Prius?
    I'm in the market for a new car next Summer and I'm really fancying the 330e. I currently have a diesel Audi A3 that I'm just simply not running the miles into like I used to when I bought it, therefore typical DPF blockages. My journey to work is 1.2 miles away, and then most of my other journeys of the day involve a lot of traffic/stopping and starting. So my logic was to run these journeys on electric, I feel like I'd save a fortune. I have no access to a socket at my home but there are chargers at work.
    Although every so often in my job I can find myself needing to make longer motorway journeys, or day trips with my girlfriend, trips to see friends etc. This is where I'm curious about the recharging

    • @DamoDrives
      @DamoDrives  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It will recharge BUT if you are not charging the car at all it might not be the best choice. The car is heavier so when you are using just the petrol you are lugging around another 200kg of batteries not doing anything. If you are going to charge it at work and the short distance you are travelling it is a good choice

  • @carlosrumbero9515

    Nice car. I can tell since November that got mine. Just one thing, Owners manual states that you shouldn't use an extension cable for charging.

    • @DamoDrives
      @DamoDrives  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I suppose the current is going to be really high. Do they suggest what you should as the nearest plug socket is 10 meters away 🧐. I reviewed the 320d last year and did not feel any different to drive

    • @joseluislopes3956
      @joseluislopes3956 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      They don't recommend using an extension because they want to avoid liability if some dumbass uses a 20m 2$ chinese extension and something catches fire/melts/sparks.
      As long as it's a good enough extension (the included cable is rated at 230v 10A in Europe) you will be fine

      @@basilem7909 good evening to you. So I havent driven the 330i but have had several previous BMWs. As you will be aware they pride themselves on having 50/50 weight distribution and the 330e is no different. Battery pack is under the floor and the petrol tank is smaller and repositioned so the car remains 50/50. It is still heavier than a 330i and I imagine you would notice the difference if driven back to back but I've no complaints. It handles better than my Audi S3 so I'm very happy.

    Rocket science is merely thrust over weight. It's not that complicated.

    • @DamoDrives
      @DamoDrives  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Normally, the magnitude of the pressure-area term is small relative to the m dot-V terms. The nozzle of a jet engine is usually designed to make the exit pressure equal to free stream. In that case, the pressure term in the general equation is equal to zero and we can use the previous thrust equation. The force (thrust) is equal to the exit mass flow rate times the exit velocity minus the free stream mass flow rate times the free stream velocity. Since the exit mass flow rate is nearly equal to the free stream mass flow rate, and the free stream is all air, we can call the mass flow rate through the engine the engine airflow rate.

      John Hill they are generally really reliable cars which is not a great thing for you. The only issue from BMW is they can not guarantee the work done by the other garage or they did all of the things required for a B service. I know if a car does not have the services at the correct time and at BMW they cannot sell it as an approved BMW car either. does not help you I know 😳
