This video reminds me of fond memories. When I was young, I really love guppies and I managed to finish the whole game using guppies only, it took me a whole week, but the sight of tank(s) full of king guppies made me felt very satisfied.

i didnt know how to play so i just spamed guppies and spammed the click feed button to the point where they were dropping like a thousand coins a second and every time i clicked away to do an upgrade like 10 guppies would starve 😂
Ah remember when i was still a young teen playing this. Took me three whole days to finish the last lvl before the boss. Only used breeders n guppies to do it. Took a while cuz i needed to make alot of kings to get alot of diamonds. Maxed out food type and number lead to alot of finger pain when trying to feed many dosens of fish. Gumbo, gash and meril is what i used for that lvl. Weird how i still remember all this

I did the same thing! Ultravores are scary to manage because they have to eat the carnivores who eat the guppies. But what you can do is just have 0 carnivores, and buy them only when the ultravores are starving, which makes it much simpler.
king guppy as a strat is probably one of the SLOWEST in the game since he's too slow to appear (around 10-15 min mark if you play normally) + not too rewarding. But seeing my Guppies turn into King & keeping him alive feels so worth it

Honestly I don't want to go through the trouble of testing it 😅 We did some math in the insaniquarium discord: compared to food2, food3 is 1.5x as nutritious, but you have to wait 1.57x to 1.8x as long to feed again (depending on how early you feed), so food2 should be better. For a king guppy the difference is over 1 min if you're frame perfect.
When you start a level, both of the starting fish have a set growth rate that is determined by RNG. Growing in 1 Zorf food means it's the fastest possible growth rate, which means 2 foods to grow again and 30 more to become King. When you relaunch the game, the RNG seed is reset to a specific value, and starting the level with the same pets guarantees the exact same spawn locations and fish growth. By clicking the mermaid or moving through the menus, you can manually advanced the RNG seed, which changes what RNG you get in the tank you enter. There's more detail in the Insaniquarium discord, but basically I use trial and error to see what menu actions force fast fish growth. With this level and this pet combo, it's 2 mermaid clicks. Not sure about the virtual aquarium, but it's unlikely that this would work.

Each food item is different in 2 ways: amount of "growth" given to the fish, and amount of time the fish stays full for. The pill makes the fish grow more than the green food, BUT it makes the fish stay full for so long that I can't feed it again for a while. Doing the math, the green one leads to faster growth overall.

What does King Guppy do?
They drop diamonds, which are worth 200 each. When I was a kid I used to get a tank full of king guppies before finishing the level
