You awoke a memory I didn’t know I had. I had completely forgotten about this game. I also only had the demo version so I finally get to see the full game over a decade later 😅 as soon as I saw the fish in the thumbnail the memory partially awoke. I knew I recognised that fish from some game I played but couldn’t remember what until I watched the video
This video punched me in the face with sudden memories of the windows XP we had that somehow glitched the demo so I could just play it normally. I never got very far but I suddenly miss it so much.
I used to see my parents play this when I was in elementary school, I think I played it some myself as well, but im not sure. The aliens showing up was always harrowing as a kid, though, lol. This game and Spore literally altered my brain chemistry as a child i played them so much. I feel like the weirdness of both of those games is eternally part of me to this day.
There's a new game like this called Fishlets. You should try it. Same sorta thing. You progress through tanks, beat the enemies, earn money, buy more fish and critters to help. Except it's a little more realistic, where the enemies are things that actually affect fish irl. And there's a different mode too where your goal is to breed rare colours and earn money to unlock all fish.
This was my entire childhood lol. I still play it every now and then. I grew up in the 20’s and during mainly modern computers but we played in the basement on one of them BULK BLOCK COMPUTERS! The fat alien has always been my favorite XD

As a child I was so dumb I couldn’t get past the first tank because I couldn’t figure out how to feed the carnivores.
