Great job! You are really onto something there. I love belts and pulleys. They are so quiet. Try a link belt. A link belt grips the pulley with low tension and has adjustable length.

ok i will integrate that idea for my next generation of drive system this summer

That’s pretty awesome speed even at low rpm, seems like your prop pitch and ratios are perfect for the motor. I wonder if you could get two of those adjustable sheave pulleys (the ones where one half of pulley is on threads for belt tightening) so both pulleys could be adjusted either big or small to fine tune the gear ratio?

Hello yes i will have to play with it more. All outboard engines are geared 2:1 so this is probably the ratio i should use.
I have a 7hp engine and a propeller from a 4hp yamaha so i try to spin it faster at 1.5:1 but i dont know if it made a difference

Now with this technique of the belt drive system i can use right turning propeller like every outboard engine in the world. Usually the longtail system uses a left turning propeller but they are hard to find unless you live in asia or if you want to pay 50$ each.
My new propellers are 20$ and have a lot more sizes available and i can use any propeller from a normal engine like yamaha mercury honda.
I will be using the right turning propellers from now on

Reduce the length of the deadwood - what could be easier... Well done

hello, what are your experiences with otboard propellers?... did you find some good replacement for long tail prop? are you able to reach the same speed with outboard prop like you use to with long tail prop? I saw your video where you reached 31 km/h .... but I think you achieved it with long tail style propeller. I am happy that I found your channel... In future I would like to build my own tiny boat...so I hope you will add some helpfull content. Best regards.

Hello i have not been able to test the max speed because i only finished the invention at the end of the summer so the water was too cold to use my small boat. But i have used the same 4hp propeller on a yamaha 4hp outboard and reached 32km/hr. I think on a longtail it will reach the same speeds.
I can make another video of building a small boat for you.
From now on i will only use right hand propellers because its more common for most people that watch my videos and want to try it and i already have a variety of 4,10,20hp propellers

@@boatfabricationchannel2991 did you have time to test that propellers already?

@@janzahoran9868 no i have not tested my invention again this summer because i live in canada and this invention is not very useful to me because i can only use it 3 months of the year or else the water is too cold or frozen and its dangerous hopefully someone else will pick up on my research. also the driveshaft snapped right between the pulley and the bearing probably because the driveshaft was too small at 3/8 inch.
i would use a 3/4 inch driveshaft next time because this is what the professional kits use and get some splines machined at the end for the propeller. I am on a streak of inventions that dont work for a year now.

Keep the t shirt out of that belt and she is slick

Yes this was more a test to understand how to make a system with the belt drive. I think the engine would be better if it was installed in front of the user as an inboard because the controls and the recoil start are inverted but i dont really want to have the fumes coming at me all day long
