    Big fan of anything weed eater powered! Do you know how many cc's? That thing is moving pretty fast with the extra weight being a 3 wheeler. My most fun and reliable build is a 16" kids bike with a 23cc engine that goes 41-42km/h topped out, very happy at 38. I put a cheap digital tach on it and it cruises at 7800rmp and topped out is just about 1000rpm. it's also friction drive but I lift the engine using a hand lever on the bars like a traditional motorcycle clutch. On the first engine I put about 1800km's before switching it out with one that was a little fresher and it gained 4-5km/h. I've got a more recent vid of it on my channel plus some older ones where it would do about 30km/h before a put a more tuneable carb on it. I've had a lot of fun adventure on it over the years. Cheers.

      Hello it is a 27cc engine. Now i have a 50cc engine from a 4 stroke weed eater that i want to use next time. If we want it to last a long time we will have to make a use a bearing for the two ends of the roller so it reduces the pressure on the crankshaft

      Thanks it is still a prototype in progress but all the parts are there. I would get a real driveshaft made from one piece of 3/4in steel with both ends machined at a machine shop and bushings or bearings instead of wood pieces. Look at my belt driven version that uses normal boat propellers and not rare propellers from vietnam. If i was to do it again i think i would install the whole thing through the floor of the boat (canoe) and run the exhaust so the end is underwater because it makes a lot of noise. The summers where i live are very short so i dont have much time to test it so i lost interest, hopefully you will continue my research

    So this was a good invention i used it for 1500km (1000miles) but i ended up stripping the flywheel key because of the way the drive roller (bicycle peg 1.5") tightens up against it. The real way to do it is to make sure your drive roller doesnt touch the flywheel and also you are supposed to have another bearing at the end of the roller so it spreads the force!

      @boatfabricationchannel2991 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have come to the conclusion that if you want to go super fast just buy a 20hp outboard. This invention is more for trolling around at 10km/hr unless you are an expert that have built probably 100s and live in a place where you can test it every day. Its hard to go fast because you need a boat that is extremely lightweight and narrow (24inch wide) so you have to build it yourself but going slow is easy. I dont want to demotivate you so good luck with your invention

    • @boatfabricationchannel2991
      @boatfabricationchannel2991 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No i dont use the u joint anymore it was from one of the first versions you can see how clean my garage used to be. I would definitly recommend you go to a machine shop and buy a 10 feet long 3/4in rod and get threads machined at both the ends (one for connecting into the engine and one for the propeller to screw on). My homemade driveshafts end up breaking after 1 to 40 hours probably because they are not aligned properly because i made them from welding 1/2" rod together. Look at my version that uses the belt drive in my other videos thats the way i will make them from now on because i have more choice of propellers. I kinda lost interest because i can only test this invention 4 months of the year because of the cold temperature so now i make motorized bikes instead

      @@janzahoran9868 hello the real professional kits use a 3/4 in (20-22mm) shaft with the ends that are 5/16in (10mm) or 3/8in (12mm) to thread into the engine. We will have to copy this size if we want it to work good and not break. If you use a m8 threaded rod it will be too small and break because of the force, also the threaded part will wear out the wood bearings, sorry i have tought about it before. Maybe you could have an adapter that goes outside the shaft of the engine instead of threading into the end. That adapter would then connect to the 3/4in shaft without the need for threads. After 16 prototypes i have come to the conclusion you need a 3/4in driveshaft there is no other options

      Thanks the design i copied from a guy called hien thich che on youtube. If you do it make sure to use a driveshaft that is 5/8” large because the end tends to snap off close to the engine on my 3/8 driveshaft. If you can the best way would be to make the driveshaft from a single piece a 5/8 rod around 100” long and machine the threads at both end. I cant do it because the price would be astronomical at a machine shop.
