I think why you are The Knife Guy for so many of us is that you obviously use the hell out of your knives. So many of us, myself included, have knives strictly as "pocket jewelry" and/or "sharp fidget toy". Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it makes your perspective valuable.

Ya for sure I personally love seeing worn used knives and love using mine I feel like it tells a story but I still use them as pocket jewelry just used and worn pocket jewelry but ppl thst don’t use them and keep them pristine I like looking at the difference and being able to see and remember what my knife looked like new

When I'm at home, and need a knife I use a box cutter, kitchen knife, or junk drawer knife. When I'm out and about, if I need to cut something, I usually reach for my small Leatherman instead of the Benchmade, or whatever good knife I have in my other pocket.

After all of the "best budget knife ever" reviews on the QSP Penguin when it came out, it was your review when you were moving houses that actually convinced me to buy one. Since then, it's been my go-to knife for prying, box cutting, and drywall...and I've got to say, even after a day of drywall, a light sharpen and a good stropping brings the D2 back to razor sharp. It's my favorite hard use (folding) knife.

This may be an odd comment but I appreciate that your collection doesn’t consist of the almost predictable progression from budget to mid range to the super steel and titanium/carbon fiber knives that you see so many people fall into line over time. That said, I also knew that wasn’t going to be the case anyways since I’ve watched your collection grow over the years through reviews etc but it’s still refreshing. When it comes to “modern folders” so many people out there seem to move slowly, or even quickly these days, to a point where if the materials aren’t titanium and latest PM steel then they won’t even consider buying a knife. Which is also why I think it’s good to experience fixed blades (as you’ve certainly showcased over the years) and more specifically large ones with simple carbon steels to really put them to work (if you can) because it really lets you see how hard you can use a blade and it still be perfectly fine. In reality that kinda applies to folders as well because I think a lot of people are really nervous or afraid to push their “premium” knives when in reality many of them are actually made for performance and relatively hard use. Also in the same vein but for someone who maybe lives in a city and can’t just go outdoors to hack up wood, then brands like GEC can give you a similar appreciation of simple steel and more traditional materials yet still are excellent knives even though they don’t have titanium and PM steel. In the end though and as always I’m all for people spending their money on what they want and like.

Opinel "interesting piece" in there is a mushroom cutter, to pick them up 😂
As a french, from south when this is from north and cultural, i will defend it as much as i can: Opinel is the most simple you can make, cheap, light, allowed by the law here for it's manual blade locker, best ever for "saucisson" (best cutting blade for food, try it!), extremely weak edge for anything else. Perfect for a baguette, cheese, and saucisson.
And you can loose it, again, it's cheap 😊 But this one is just for herbs ans mushrooms, like a druid would use for his medicinal potions.
Thanks for your videos! I discovered it with the ones testing edge retention

Every elaboration, in retrospect, seemed warranted. What I really like is they all look USED. That tells me you've really experienced every one. I hate the reviewers that do a 'long term use' review that consists of 4hr/day carry for a week or two and think that's 'long term' and the knives look like they just came out of the box. Thanks for the honest look into your collection.

I loved watching through your knife collection. Saw some that I would love to have in my own collection, saw some that I'd pass up in a heartbeat, but the whole time I enjoyed the watch. Thanks!

Excuse me please, if you have such a collection of knives as they have, no matter if expensive or cheap, you should also take care of them. It doesn't matter whether you use the knives or not, you should take care of them. Your knives are totally rocked ! Rust, dust and dirt is not how you should present your knife collection. greetings from Germany Walter

ALL of my knives are users. I don't have the money or the space to just collect anything, unfortunately. I am beyond jealous of your fixed blades, as I don't have one yet.

I keep making the same mistake but it's "8Cr14MoV" , not "8Cr13MoV". At least in the Cold Steel SR1 Lite in my hand.

I love videos like this because I can turn to my wonderful and patient wife and say "see?!? it could be so much worse!" 😆Seriously though, it's great to see the collection and to get your thoughts. Taking stock of things is important to do now and again.

Was honestly expecting a fair few more "upscale" knives. Not that there weren't a few in there, I just thought there would be more.

Still checking Ebay, Blade Forums, and Arizona Custom's religiously for a Creely Mako to pop up for sale. Should have just got in line directly with Creely a year ago. Maybe one day I'll find that thing people call patience lol. Great vid 👌

So much knife and so little useless trash! A very nice collection indeed. Regarding your mental condition, Sir, it may or may not have a name, but anyway the important part is "please don't get well ".

Nice collection, you do have some really cool knives right there. To me it's also somewhat of an anthology and a trip down memory lane of your previous videos and testing. I remember you used to have a Terava Skrama too. I was interested in getting one. May I ask you if It did keep performing good, or it gave you in use problems later on? Thank you
