You know what someone should do? An entire collection of shorts where you type in TH-cam any car brakes and it says “14 mil for caliper bolts, 18 mil for bracket bolts.” Then it would take me 10 seconds to know which tools to bring to someone’s house.
One of the better videos I have seen on the proper way to change pads. I've been doing my own brakes since I was 16 and I'm now 46. I've done a LOT of brakes. Thumbs up and thanks for the video.
Deno great video. I as you have done many of my own brake pad replacements over the years and you can always learn a new trick. You have yet again opened my eyes to a better way of doing something. I as like many unbolt the caliper and leave it dangling by the brake hose but not anymore. How stupid do I feel that it never crossed my mind to only take out the bottom bolt and pivot the caliper up and out of the way. Thanks for the much needed info. As always cant wait for the next video. Thanks for taking the time to make your videos.
When breaking loose lug nuts, I like to start the breaker bar in a position where I turn it by pushing down instead of lifting up. Helps put less stress on my back. :)
Great video Dino! Small tip: if you open the bleed valve while pushing back those pistons you will flush any excess fluid. That way you will flush the closest fluid to the caliper that suffers the most. Once done, you could always complete the level if needed.
Thanks for the video, I changed mine on my 2002 Santa Fe. I just used my jack that came with the car, bought brake pads for $20, now I know what is going on.
10:50 Yeah these pins have given me grief. Had a knocking suspension sound in the front end. Realised that the noise disappeared when the brakes were applied. Turned out to be these pins were rattling. A bit of grease on these pins fixed the noises. Nice vid
Great video brother. I'm going to get started on this in the morning. Thank you very much for your help. If you ever want to know anything about running long distance while managing type 1 diabetes give me a shout. LOL. Hope life is peaceful and balanced for you my friend. Namaste
hi.. it's nice video .. pls .. tell me more about torque wrench if use .. newton meter or M. Kgs .. what is the value for this unit by number .. and i say again thank u
It's better to open the bleeder screw on the caliper & let excess fluid go out of there. You then may need to add some new fluid to the master cylinder.
the only things I would have done different is I always change the hardware and also I always lube the guide pins also always start your lug nuts by hand so you do not cross thread. lug nut torque on this veh is 80 ft lbs i am a hyundai tech at a dealership. when pumping the brake pedal do it slow
Good vid, I probably would have tried to take off the top caliper bolt. Glad u skipped the torch wrench bc I don't have one.. autozone will rent for free a brake tool. Just not sure about where to put the jack in front. I only have siccors jack.
I guess the oil misconception comes from brake disks. Those have a layer of oil on them for storage, that you must clean before using them. Anyways, can't wait for the next CB750 video!
shot I just bought myself a 2nd hand lancer 2008 with 200'000km on the clock I wasn't looking for a video to do brakes bust came across tgis thanks ill give my brakes a cheak because they are making that annoying sound anf there is another like cracking sound coming from the front im looking into thanks for the video I Learn much quicker when I see it
It's good maintenance to flush the brake fluid annually. The only other time is when the hydraulic lines have been disconnected and air has gotten into the system.

Although not necessary, it does seem to allow for easier caliper compression to remove the reservoir cap.
Thank you. I have the same car and never did my brakes myself. With your video and step by step instructions I got it done.

+KSfixitman Not all calipers allow this but a lot do. Thanks for watching!
Good tip about the fluid leakage, that'd freak out a lot of people doing this for the first time!

i know I am pretty off topic but does anybody know of a good website to stream new series online?
@Keagan Dylan try flixzone. Just search on google for it :)

+Gonzalo Soto Good tip.
This. Forcing fluid back into the master cylinder in a reverse direction can be hard on the seals in the MC.
Handy tip about new brake pads to make them seat good so thanx for that and of course the good video !

Thanks for the video
You bet.
I thought u did a great job very knowledgeable . Keep up the good work great intro also
thank you for the video. I learned to change the pads by myself.

Great video man.
I'm sure you've done this many times..
Thanks!
VIDEO WAS SO WELL DONE, THANK YOU!
Did you open the resevoir cap when compressing the pistons?

Hyundai in South-Korea is what GE is in the U.S.A. or TATA in India.
This Group is a major competitor to the Japanese econonomy.

What else can be used to reset the caliper pistons
what about g6cu engine, is good or bad?
Thanks a lot! The video definitely helped me replaced the pads! Yay! )

Length on you torque wrench make it want to jump away when you turn it. But did not affect torque sure
I need to get information about the parts I need for my gear shifter 2003 hyundai Santa Fe front wheel drive 6 cylinder truck
I won't shift into drive
thank you excellent video
Do we need to bleed the brakes
When is it needed

Great video
MY NAME IS LISA AND I HAVE A 2003 HYANDIA SANTA FE, SAME COLOR...PRETTY COOOOOL...YOUR DAUGHTER AND I SHOULD PLAY THE LOTTO, HAHA
You say 14mm bolt, actually it's 14mm hex. The bolt is probably more like 10mm. Love your videos!!
Brake fluid is killing for the paint
That lube on the pads is unnecessary
cool thx
Hyundai is S Korean not Japanese
+Michael Jamison Oh yeah! Forgot! Thanks. :)
