Dodge needs this car, but done right. Use the platform but with a non-turbo ICE engine. Remove all the complicated electronics, all the options and lower the price accordingly. There is a 2.4 with multi-air that is affordable and reliable. Use what you have on the shelf but you can't make an overpriced car more tempting by adding on more and more costs.
yes indeed the TigerShark 2.4 Liter MultiAir is a good overall quality naturally aspirated engine that is in my 2014 Dodge Dart SXT! It has been a very good engine as I keep the oil changed regularly with 0W-20 Full Synthetic.
The reason dodge customers don’t like the Hornet is the stupid price. That fully loaded rt is 65 k 🇨🇦 plus 13 % tax. So even if you get it for 60k +7800 tax you’re still paying 680000 for something that should be around 35-40 I can buy a Pacifica or Pacifica based caravan for that. Stellantis pricing is insane. Also who wants to own anything stellantis once the warranty has expired. The cost to keep this thing running after warranty is going to be insane
A 35k rear biased awd dodge neon SRT would be better than this, but SUV trends and emissions regulations won’t allow it. So we end up with a vehicle trying to check a box for every demographic. Trying to impress everyone while impressing no one.
Americans are having smaller families sums are becoming a thing of the past and us over 50s are empty nester only need to move our selves 4 door sedans come in mid 20k and nicer
The new Charger is due any day now. That statement alone, is reason enough to run away from this Alfa Romeo. If you want to get a real review of this vehicle, there are better unbiased places to go.
Agreed Dodge needs basic people movers. They need simple reliable, and affordable. So maybe copies of Italian cars aren't the bast route to reliability. Most would be happier without fancy technology, and want reliability. We're in America, so a 1.3 is way too small of an engine. The Hornet has too much of that "jammed down our throats" vibe.

I like my 2014 Dodge Dart SXT ! It like the Hornet was also made by Alfa Romeo! The Dart has much more room in its cabin than the Hornet!

There are hornets listed over 70k in Canada. It’s not even funny anymore more. Stellantis is going to get what it deserves.
