It's the best 20 minutes of football I've ever seen any team play. Suarez was at the centre of everything, even though he didn't score, as he was for most of that season. He's a player you hate unless he's on your team.
I have been to Anfield many times and he is still the best player I've seen live. I was at the 5-0 one man demolition of Norwich, where every goal was world class. One of his last goals in that game was a 30 yard+ free kick, and compared to the other goals it was bang average. He was fantastic for Liverpool, I wish he could've stayed much longer.
The Suarez at Liverpool street highlight reel is UNBELIEVABLE! It is like the Ronaldo (de Lima) at Barcelona in 96-97. Similarly, if Ronaldo is a Barcelona legend - then Suarez is a Liverpool legend.
Yes, but individually Suarez in Barcelona (omitting prizes) was much better than Ronaldo, in my opinion he is a very underrated player, you just have to see the statistics
Bruh he is a monster at front. I remember when he’s starting I always knew that he would score or assist. He is the key factor for Liverpool get in title race. Miles better than Torres. After he left Brendan’s squad collapsed. He carried us and we failed at the end. It’s a pain to see him leave but when he join MSN trio he gave us a lot of joy as a football fan. He is a Liverpool legend for me. What a player.
Words do not even exist to describe how talented this guy was. The most outrageous winning mentality combined with skill and an eye for goal. Flawless and unplayable on his day. It was like watching a cat toy with mice. I already know I’ll never witness anything like it again. I’m a Liverpool fan and salah couldn’t even lace his boots. Best premier league player ever? Possibly not, that requires trophies, consistency and less controversy for me. Most talented? Without a doubt.
Hunger: 100 Passion: 100 Skill: 100 Vision: 100 Class: 0 Best Liverpool player I've ever seen. Made every player around him play much better. A born winner and a natural leader. But a flawed individual. You would love him on your team but hate him if he played for an opponent. From a Liverpol fan.
Many of the goals he scored in his first season for FC Groningen where winning goals. He was subbed in often with like 20 mins to play. Then score the 4-3 for the win. He also helped us qualify for europe, he was a beast already at a young age scoring VERY VERY important goals. His dribbling was insane, it still puts a smile on my face. Always twisting and turning and doing the impossible. Sure, it failed often too, but holy shit man he made some great moves and scored some great goals ;)
One of the most instinctive footballers I've ever had the pleasure to watch, he could turn the slightest chance into a certain goal without even looking like he meant to do it. He played some of his most engaging football at Liverpool but I'm not sure I'd consider him a legend because I don't think the club ever meant that much to him, just another stepping stone on the route to personal success
He many times has said he is a Liverpool fan. He recently congratulated Núñez for his first goal in Anfield and said something along the lines of "I am happy that you are now living the Anfield magic atmosphere".
Liked the video. Perfect answer, legendary player who played for Liverpool. That said he is the entire reason I became a Liverpool fan, the one reason I became a fan of the Premier league. Fabulous talent.
The fact that he was still loved after the first biting incident shows the absolutely ludicrous amount of talent he had. In the end his exit was heartbreakingly inevitable and necessary but my goodness what I would have given to see him play under Klopp. I really believe he would have become the perfect player on and off the pitch, I’d take him back tomorrow in a heartbeat even after THAT game against Barca!
as a anfield season ticket holder this man will always be the best player we ever has in the PL, like the man said he was a twat and a biter but he was one of us and he probably had the single best season in the PL with a 7 match ban
Many times we only consider title winners as legends but if you compare Luis Suarez contribution to the club with some players, he has done much more. He is a legend, he did absolutely everything to single handedly give us a win in every single game. He is a die hard type of person
I remember a disallowed free kick goal where he just stuck his foot under the ball flung it in the air and dropped in the goal was unbelievable and they didn't give him it. Cheeky outrageous and just a legend. Favourite guy I've seen grace the grass legend for sure
Luis's journey has been one of numerous detours everything from his own mistakes leading to FIFA's extensive (and excessive) 9 international matches and 4 month ban on him playing any football! Yet through it all he's become a better player, teammate, father, husband, and human being. Therefore he may not be a Liverpool legend but he's a legend regardless for me.
Prime Suarez was the best striker in the world from 2009-10 to 2016-17. He was also the most complete striker of the 21st Century if you consider Ibrahimovic started in 1999 but even if you include Ibra then he is either second or tied in first place for best striker since Ronaldo Nazario retired. He could score any kind of goal, anyway he wanted basically from anywhere. Suarez run against United for Kuyt's goal in 06/03/2011, the same can be said about his 01/02/2017 goal against Atletico or his 17/03/2019 goal against Betis which couldn't be replicated by any of the top10 strikers in the world during his prime are proof of this. And its not just his numbers but his technique and his drive to win only matched by Ibra. And his goal+assists per game record before his injury in 2014 was superb considering he was drive force in all of his teams up to that point. His achievements consist of being the youngest foreign captain of Ajax at the time he earned the Captain's armbrand, being part of the selected few who scored more than 100 goals for Ajax alongside Cruijff and other legends, scored 6 goals in a single game, scored 30 hattricks in his career, scored 4 goals in a single qualifier game against Chile, Club World Cup top scorer of all time - in only two games - in 2015, top scorer of every Europan league he played so far (including 2 golden shoes eith two different teams), came out of the bench after a 29 day rest from knee suegery to beat a European elite team at a World Cup, a 4th and a 5th player at the World Cup, 1 Copa America title (and mvp) and 1 Champions League title (scoring the winning gosl in the final), 1 UEFA Supercup, the infamous triplete of Luis Enrrique, managed to lift mid table Liverpool 2 games short of winning the league, won a League Cup and 4 Copa del Rey, 1 Eredivisie and 5 La Ligas. He's been losing form since the second half of 2017 and to this day he has 512 goals and 242 assists in 814 games, a 0.95 goals plus assists per game ratio. To me he is amongst the top5 strikers of the last 50 years.
Not only top 5 strikers; perhaps the greatest attacker ever in terms of peak ability in recent years. And yes, I’m also counting in Ronaldo and Messi when I say that.
Absolute legend of football. Amazing stats im every league he played. Not only goals but also assistance. Best striker (number 9) of history or at least top 3. Depends on tastes
Suarez is the probably the best player I've seen live. A particular hatrick performance against WBA were he scored an header from the edge of the box and scored another after a mazy run involving a nutmeg had me in awe. Shout to Sturridge that day with a great lob goal as well.
I love how in these videos the title of the video says "is he a Liverpool legend?" But the video actually contains alot more than that, it contains the full backstory and life of the player on top, its a good quality this channel has.
He was the most talented player I have ever seen play for Liverpool ,and I saw Kenny (although I missed Kenny's prime) There are 3 players I have seen in the prem that have destroyed an opposing teams body language simply by picking up the ball in a breaking attack situation, pretty much every time they do, because the opposing team are that scared. Thiery Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo, ......and Luis Suarez. Even Aguero, as good as he is, and as lethal as he is,does not quite have that effect (although I will say Aguero is probably the best finisher English football has seen). Suarez was a playmaker, goal scorer, dribbler, passer, set piece taker and out shone even the like of Gerrard and IMO was even better than prime Torres. Shame he's a bit of a c*nt, but as an LFC fan I can't help but love him, some of the goals this guy scored were just obscene Legend? yes purely on his ability, are Gerrard or Kenny bigger legends because of their connections to the club , ability and what they achieved? yes for sure.
@@Nick-AngelpeodSeaxisc actually I'm half scouse and my grandfather is a diehard fan of the reds and even to him suarez is a legend and best player lfc ever had

After 12 games that season, he had something like 19 goals and a bundle of assists as well. Utterly unbelievable, he ran that team, he made everyone play better.

As a Liverpool fan, I see him as legend, every Liverpool fan will remember him magnificence for life. The best player I have seen wearing the Liverpool Shirt, Salah is awesome but he has a way better team to play with.
The guy became so good that every time he got the ball, you somehow knew he was gonna create a chance - and also score that chance himself. People talk about Messi. Ronaldo. But none of them could have dominated the PL as much as Suarez did with that Liverpool team. The fact that he also managed to score 50+ goals for Barca after his transfer really helped me make the following conclusion: his season for Liverpool was perhaps the greatest individual performance by a player over an entire season in a league division ever. Even surpassing the performances in La Liga of Ronaldo and Messi in their primes.
You have to understand, there are people who transform when they are playing football. They get so competitive that they do bad stuff. Out of the pitch, they are great people. So I would understand if the other Liverpool players liked him.
I don't think he's a Liverpool legend. Sure he had some great seasons as top scorer but he just wasn't there long enough or won enough things with Liverpool. I don't think every great player that plays for a team during a a few seasons can be considered an iconic legend for that team.

I am a Liverpool fan and although Suarez was unbelievable particularly in the 13/14 season I don’t consider him to be a Liverpool legend. However he is a Barcelona legend
Yep. And no matter how big of a genius he is, titles cannot be won by individual performances. Look at Barcelona the last couple of years... Awful team results, yet Messi was still pretty much unbelievable
@@xinavswok4607 the comment is from 10 months when messi was still world class. Now he is at PSG, he is old and he could not score more than 2 goals or be decisive in the UCL. Now he is finished. That’s just the truth
Probably most gifted player to wear the shirt, the skill of Luis Garcia, the shot of Gerard, the vision of dalglish and the shithouserry of Robertson on steroids. He had some moments of disgrace that have cast a shadow on how great he truly was. But then again some of these moments are testement to how much he wanted to win and that he would do anything for the W. He suffered for his handball against Ghana as he never achieved greatness at anfield by winning the league or champions league that the true legends of Liverpool have. As someone who has no recollection of those players, my era would probably consider him a legend, but won't be remembered in the same way as a Gerrard or a carragher. I'd put him just above Torres in my view. Two players with incredible talent but they had no serious connection to the club to want to stay when something 'better' came up.
one thing you forgot to mention is Saurez got all those goals while not taking any Penalties...becasue Gerrard took them all then. Just imagine if Suarez would have taken the pentalites like the typical striker on most teams, his 1.3 per game would have been even higher. And no he's not a racist. That was not the only time Evra pulled he race card on an opponent. O'll add, that the word "Negro" in Spanish from the river plate (Uruguay & Buenos Aires area of Argentina) does not carry the same meaning is it does in English. Besides Luis Suarez has a black grandmother, and has numerous black national team mates that came quickly to his defense when the allegations were brought by Evra.
I'm a FC Groningen fan by heart, he played for us before moving to Ajax. He came in late in many of the games at first, but you could see his relentlessness and unbelievable determination right away. He's a legendary player, and i'm glad he played for us, even if it was so short.
So... England has a huge problem with racism but... because what England did before a long time ago and that still pursues their minds, that's why they are so sensitive about this issue, Edison Cavanni had a similar problem, here in Uruguay we use a term not to describe or be racist to the skin color of a person, I'm a white guy and my auntie, my mom, my sisters they always called me "negrito" it's a term we use in the most tender way to someone we appreciate a lot or someone else who we don't have anything against, an example will be "hola negrito cómo estás?" that is how my uncle used to greet me everytime I visit him, Suárez said to Evra "negrito no te enojes" and England made the rest... if England did wrong in the past with the racism is their problem, we are not racists in Uruguay that's why we can use a word like that to someone who we care about or we like / love / care, etc knowing there is not a bad intention behind and without any kind of racism, but oh well I guess that story will always pursue England and they need someone to play the bad guy, so they can say "we are vindictive and we don't tolerate racism" yeah sure... back track some years folks... England is still ashame of how racists they used to be... How can he be racist when he played in our national team with a lot of black skin players, we don't care about skin colors, we love people for what they are, if they are good people we don't care about anything else, color, sex, way of thinking, nothing, but England is traumatized by their own faults in the past, just saying.
He was that good during 13/14 they were comparing his goals scored to teams. The stuff he did with the ball was unbelievable. It was a gift to watch him play that season. If he hadn't of been banned for the first five games Liverpool would of easily won that year
The best bit of Suarez's naughtiness for me was the moment he did a celebration diver in front of David Moyes then Everton boss who earlier had accused him of being a diver
He's the best striker I've seen in more than a decade following closely the sport and a legend of it in itself, but he's not a Liverpool legend, he didn't gave the club enough moments for that, he might be on the tier just below that status tho.
I’d say no because Suarez is a football legend. When he played for us, he made our team look like title challengers when in reality, Dwight Gayle would hand us our own arses. The reasoning behind him not being a Liverpool legend is this - Could he have done what he did at another place? Was there anything specific about that club that affected their ability or not? For Suarez, he definitely could’ve done what he did at any other club. He probably could’ve gone to Sunderland and had them battling for 1st. And he very easily chose to leave for Barcelona, because it’s where he wanted to be. Whereas someone like Gerrard owes a lot to Liverpool FC. It’s the club that took a chance on him and set him up with those who’d motivate him to take his ability to the next level. He loved playing for Liverpool more than any club. And the kicker - He never played better or even at the same level for any other side than he did for Liverpool whereas Suarez somehow improved at Barca and became, for a time, the greatest player on the planet. That is why Gerrard is a Liverpool legend and coincidentally Suarez is not a Liverpool legend, but a football legend instead.
How does a player equal the record number of goals scored in a season in the prem whilst also being banned for the first part of the season with a bang average squad and he didn’t even take a pen
by being ridiculously good. I watched every Liverpool match in 13/14 season. He's easily the best player I've seen play for Liverpool. Everytime he got the ball I got excited because I knew something special would happen. And when you have someone like that, it elevates the rest of the team. He was more intense in training than a lot of players are in actual matches and that attitude translated to rest of the team.
I watched Suarez in his prime with Liverpool, then onto Barcelona. Maybe not a Liverpool legend, but he'll be remembered next to Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar, Ramos, Lewandowski, Robben, Henry, Rooney and Drogba. One of the best to play the game
Liverpool had no business almost winning the league that season and it was all thanks to Suarez. They hadn't been contenders for years even with Torres and Suarez goes and has the goat epl individual season. Liverpool also made a 50m pound profit off him so honestly, even if he doesn't care about the club like others he still seems like a legend in my book.

Ronaldo is definitely not a Barca legend, not only was he only there for 1 season but he went on to play for Real Madrid for a while

Many of the goals he scored in his first season for FC Groningen where winning goals. He was subbed in often with like 20 mins to play. Then score the 4-3 for the win. He also helped us qualify for europe, he was a beast already at a young age scoring VERY VERY important goals. His dribbling was insane, it still puts a smile on my face. Always twisting and turning and doing the impossible. Sure, it failed often too, but holy shit man he made some great moves and scored some great goals ;)
The goals he scored when he played for Liverpool were unreal still watch the highlights for that season it’s just Insane.

"They slipped down the table" you're wrong for that 😭😂
I remember a disallowed free kick goal where he just stuck his foot under the ball flung it in the air and dropped in the goal was unbelievable and they didn't give him it.

I love how in these videos the title of the video says "is he a Liverpool legend?" But the video actually contains alot more than that, it contains the full backstory and life of the player on top, its a good quality this channel has.
He was the most talented player I have ever seen play for Liverpool ,and I saw Kenny (although I missed Kenny's prime)
There are 3 players I have seen in the prem that have destroyed an opposing teams body language simply by picking up the ball in a breaking attack situation, pretty much every time they do, because the opposing team are that scared.

Yeah he won't be considered a Liverpool legend, however most Liverpool fans will say that he is one of, if not the best, to play for the club, in terms of peak level.
I honestly loved the intro. It caught me off guard and made me laugh way harder than I should have 😂

He suffered for his handball against Ghana as he never achieved greatness at anfield by winning the league or champions league that the true legends of Liverpool have. one thing you forgot to mention is Saurez got all those goals while not taking any Penalties...becasue Gerrard took them all then.

He's the best striker I've seen in more than a decade following closely the sport and a legend of it in itself, but he's not a Liverpool legend, he didn't gave the club enough moments for that, he might be on the tier just below that status tho.
As a Liverpool fan, Luis is a legend, 100%. He was my hero growing up, and i idolized him, despite his crazy antics
Imo the only forward to challenge Messi and Ronaldo's greatness at their respective peaks.
