2023 i relapsed ..
But as of today im 25 days opiate free!!
Your videos help me so much an one day i wanna travel in an RV of some sort and camp all over America..
Congrats !! Lose your old friends and habits and you'll be successful. Best of luck 🙏✌️
I enjoy your show. I'm 78 yr old and can't get out much. Your show is one I look forward to. Keep putting out videos
For me, I am grateful to be up and running.
This time last year the tumor in my head quietly upgraded itself from a decade old grade 2;to an honest to goodness grade 3. But I’m still here, fighting the good fight.🤙
Dearest Luke...I always look forward to you’re adventures..thank you soo much..🏴
The ice and snow on the trees makes a beautiful scene. But the wind wouldn't be so nice. Another great adventure
I’m going on a 3 day hike with friends tomorrow. Will also have freezing temperatures. This vid got me in the mood! 🔥
Thanks Luke for the wonderful videos on both channels, they have been very beneficial for my healing process from my recent surgery on Monday. As silly as it sounds your videos really do help me to relax and just chill while I'm recovering.
Hope your surgery went well
Luke, I didn't know you had another channel. You should tell people and list it in the description. 💖🌞🌵😷
Frozen rain / ice is so beautiful. Id never get camp set up because of all of the photography...
Good evening Luke, you were just speaking about your mess up of 2023. I had a good one myself! Just started running along the sea front where I live, must have run about half a kilometre, when I caught my trainers on the cobbles and went flying. Managed to break my right shoulder, plus a few minor injuries, out of action for nearly 4 months, had to cancel a couple of road races, not able to work, and all my own fault 😔 and kept beating myself up about it. Best wishes to you and your family for 2024.
Diana, you are just human -please don’t feel bad when a true accident happens. Instead think of how long you’ve gone without one! What a blessing! We all trip, stumble, get knocked off balance by a pet, etc. sorry your accident was so impactful, but glad you ultimately healed and can look forward to new adventures.
I feel your pain. Literally, though it is my ankle. I'm beating myself up too, for going outside wearing sneakers with no tread in the winder.
@@deekelley891 I thank you for your very kind words, very much appreciated 😊
@@workingfolkthank you for your reply and I hope you recover soon, I’ve heard broken ankles are extremely painful, 🥺
I figured out another suggestion for those TEMU heating pads. Cut the toe out of a pair of socks. Pull one of the socks over your water bottle, then pull the other sock over the first sock and slide the heaters in at the bottom. Voila….an emergency water bottle defrost and you can still use the heaters for other purposes.
Very good idea
The morning snow scenes were fantastic, thanks for taking us along
Yes equipment costs are way beyond a lot of us, nice to see it tested though
I like that tent, and I like that company. It IS made well, and it IS the right color.
Enjoying this so much !
I love these adventures. For one thing I've spent the last year recovering from brain surgery. Surgery full of good news and for a grandma whodjust retired, I love much about my new life---except my sense of balance, which is returning so slow. Love to see you moving so freely.
Thing that is great is seeing new gear, too. I'm temporarily "camping" out in my recliner. Fireplace in case of New England ice storm.. basically I prepare a checklist as if I'm camping out each week, which gives me some self-sufficiency. And I'm getting better. My goal is to camp out for at least 1 night this summer.
The icing on the top of everything is the beauty of the nature videography you share. Thank you so much!
Love it, love it, love it
Life will go on indeed, the quality is another story
I love when you put this calm music in the start of your video it adds alot to the whole vibe.
Some of the most favorite part of these are the mixing of the Coffees. I always expect some special reaction to them mixing.
Hello Luke,, you always set up the best camps and camping spots.. the snow is awesome and thank you so much for sharing...
Such beautiful photography. I love the beauty of the white snow on the black trees - such a contrast. Such detail - it's amazing. Thank you for doing such a great job for us to enjoy.
So glad that Luke tests out all the hiking gadgets because I am a hiking gadget freak, although I don’t backpack anymore, just day hikes. Hang in there Luke and keep testing.
? Why do you put your tent so far from the tarp wind break? Really enjoy your videos. Have you seen the three second tent? Wonder how long it really takes looks nice & easy.
@@karenjohnson3832 was wondering that myself. i get the whole dnt cook where you sleep and dnt store your food there either if your in bear country. but why wouldnt he park it closer for a wind break. i get sometimes the terrain isnt perfect and you just cant. i would try to put the opening on one side of the tarp and inward so the rain or snow stays out.
@@erichartwell1899 : Ditto!
Absolutely love the snow! And of course cold goes along with it. Thanks for taking us along love your solo hikes!
Nicely edited video. That's a lot of extra work for one man. Nice one
I miss camping, thank you for sharing brings back a lot of great memories
enjoyed as usual miss the blue ridge
Luke has so much experience downrange and he has truly tested and vetted all of his gear to the point he can easily survive conditions that would be the end of most of us. Luke is a 110% percenter. I wish he was training our light Infantry.
I like that that backpack opens all the way up
Lol. I had an inch of snow yesterday. Tomorrow, more snow. I love winter.
Love your videos The way you pronounced Bolognese had me dying😂
Agree!
The trusty Stanley Cookset!!!
Legendary
Excellent video! I bought the Stanley pot n cup at Walmart for 10 bucks 10 years ago and it's still my "go-to" coffee maker
It's another "adventure" where we once again watch someone make instant coffee and then pour hot water into a bag. Good thing the "storm" turned out to be only a dusting of snow and the wind didn't devastate acres and acres of forest.
You didn’t have to watch it-we chose to. I enjoyed it very much-because I like Luke, backpacking, camping, gear and snow. Just because it’s not a hurricane doesn’t mean it’s not a storm-just ask the Weather Channel.
😂
Luke.. love how you say 20 is breezy 😂😊😅. In my book that is darn right ❄️🥶!!The scenery today with the light snow ❄️ on the trees is so pretty..
Hlo Luke, my wife and i really enjoy your videos, my wife and i make sure to have a cup of coffee, it's our way of drinking coffee with you
Love the hoar frost! So beautiful!
Enjoy your videos. I can't imagine myself intentionally camping in the snow, but then you're doing it for me. 😂 stay safe and stay warm. BTW, just an fyi, its pronounced "bolo-nays". 😊
The woods look so beautiful with ice all over!
Great content with honest reviews, if its junk its junk.
Never enough BACON!!
Hi everyone!! I rarely post, but couldn’t help it this time. I’m by no means any type of backpacker or camper albeit would luv to be.
My only skill with anything similar was my enlistment in US Army.
So, here’s my thought regarding some comments about a frozen water bottle. As long as it didn’t burst you can still melt the ice inside it by suspending it over the heat above the fire. As close to BUT without burning or melting the water bottle. But as someone suggested, melting snow and placing the the water bottle in boiling snow water is prob the easiest.
Luke, love your channel. Keep doing what you’re doing. Sorry about your truck but there are worse things that can happen. (I was in a motorcycle accident years ago. Had a nice touring bike BUT was overloaded and had to come to a really quick stop. Got down to slow enough speed but lost traction & lost control of the bike. Totaled it. Result: wife fractured a wrist, knee. I fractured a thumb and a toe. No one else hurt thank God. No one to blame but myself. Hard lesson learned. )
Be safe everyone
God Bless.
Hoar frost on the way in was pretty. We have all had those whoops or more precise, Oh Crap moments. Thanks for taking us along. Stay safe and God bless.
I’m thinking since it’s 20 degrees while you’re eating that it makes more sense to not blow warmer air from your mouth to cool down the food on the spoon. 😂. Old habits die hard.
Love your video. Wishing for some eastern snow. I know you're enjoying that scenery and weather, look sooooo peaceful.
Luke, in the south, it's Breakfast, dinner and supper. Enjoy your videos .
Always appreciate the videos. The thumbnail on this one reminded me of Fiddler on the Roof. "If I were a rich man..🎶🎶.".
Brilliantly done as always 😊
Genial 👍😃👌
Great stuff. Ryan really did a great job on that jacket
He made me ski back to base camp totally dehydrated! He was a Dutch Marine officer. Hard Corps learning!
Glade to see the Stanley 2 cup cook set get some love , one of my most favorite pieces of kit .
I love your outlook on the election, cause you are very right. It doesn't matter life will go on! ❤
I appreciate your observation of the snowflake, they are beautiful!
Those Real Turmat foods are the best! Especially the kebab one
I love real turmat
Very relaxing video. Everyone has one of those days. I usually know mine when I keep dropping stuff. As soon as I get up I’m dropping something than I know how my day will be. My husband will say well that makes three times you dropped something. I just laugh because I know it’s going to get better.
Love some coffee 😮
Happy New Year to you and yours. Thank you for all you have done and going to do. Love your videos. Blessings
When is it ever not a 'storm'? Lol
The weather hyperbole is really strange and I find it insulting to the viewer.
@@johngalt6929 I know right? It's a joke I can't help but laugh at haha, that includes the added "rain" and whatever on the thumbnails. Good lawd. They're everywhere too, which adds to the hilarity
😂
You’ve always had a good eye for camera angles and transitions. I’m not sure if you’re studying or just getting better, but I have noticed that the production skills on this video is top notch. Kudos my friend.
Been there, done that with my truck, but a quality aftermarket bumper with a Warn winch & a couple of auxiliary lights would add to both the value and the utility of the Tundra. You never know when a good winch can really save the day, and it looks good too!
Hi Luke i wish you a Great day,and God Bless you bro...Jadefox.
I chuckled when you said Spaghetti bolognese. Reminded me of my best friend. 🥰🤣😂
I dont think testing a tent in a couple inches of snow challenges its performance. You need at least a foot to see if it will hold up to snow loads.
We need a segment called “what’s in my chest rig” Luke!
G-19 (?)
Make sure you leave your water bottle upside down so it freezes from the bottom up. I learned this the hard way in Greenland with an unsympathetic Dutch major who did not share his water with me at the time! He said, you will know better next time, Vheels (my nickname)! Lol, now!
Liked seeing the Stanley kit and BCB being used. My go to kit., but of course I like old school too. I use the Firedragon tabs. I located some dirt cheap. They do put out some good heat.
Luke, I just tried something for the first time: making Taster's Nasty with cold water. I was shocked by how good it tasted. My guess is that the volatile compounds that usually evaporate when you make it hot remain in the brew when it's cold, adding flavor. You might try this while camping in warm weather, or try using just warm water when the temperature is lower. Cheers, buddy!
Lol...I'm 48 and only been in one accident that was my fault. I was having a really bad day. Know what you mean. I try to be a perfectionist especially at driving. That's the one thing I'm good at. The videos you post just keep getting better.
Have you ever considered tennis balls for the legs of your chair? Its a little added weight but it will now you save a tarp for other uses..
Thank u so much for ur videos, thoroughly enjoying the "tenting" and all the different gear. Love it! Just makes me want to get out there! 🙄❤
Nice camping trip and good talk. Beautiful snowy landscape in the morning 😎
Why didn't you show the hike in? I enjoy the backpacking.
Ive loved every one of your camping trips and all the cool camping gear you review and use, thank you for allowing to temporarily get away brother!!!
I always enjoy your comments at the very end of the video 😊
Awesome Video
Beautiful cold snowy camp trip. Happy New Year! 🎉🎉🎉
I totally enjoyed this adventure with you.
Lukes content keeps getting better and better
A quality piece of work.
My old farmhouse property adjoins a state park and a trail head is a few hundred feet from my front porch. Right before Christmas, I went out to the mailbox and when I was there, thought I'd just take a quick check to see how muddy the trail was since I planned a Christmas day hike. Took just a step or two on the trail wearing sneakers with no tread, slipped on a bit of frost, twisted my foot and broke my fibula right at the ankle joint. Otherwise it was a great year!
That would have been a good night for a hot tent. Great video
Fair play looks cols az !!! ❄️
I noticed your water bottle. Thanks to a gear review you did, I know have my own Hardside Nalgene bottle system. I have the insulated sleeve as well. No more bladders that can get gross. Thank you!
Coffee time!
Much braver than I, I have zero tolerance to cold and snow....all those Michigan winters....taught me to hibernate lol..... another video I've enjoyed...living semi-wild through you ! Stay safe , stay healthy, stay happy, stay warm !
Realy like the swedish theme in this video 😀
HI Luke thanks for the video And be safe
I enjoy watching these videos. I was never a camping camper. My body was built for comfort. I’ll just stay in the RV.
What about an old-fashioned hot water bottle? You could just recycle the water back-and-forth. Heat it use the bottle then reheat the water again.
Always enjoy your outstanding videos
The snow on the needles looks fine.
Love it Luke. If I had snow near me I would do the same. That place looks great for sleeping in a hammock.
FYI A ruff calculation of cost for the equipment for this little outing is $4,769 per the listing in video description. That's not including filming equipment.
I did the same, a rough tallying up...lol
I think he has a pistol in the chest pack too. Another ~$500+
This guy relies a little too much on equipment.
@@ass2mouthallday a lot of it is gear testing to give reviews later, I think.
I think he once said that he didn't do bushcraft...that was for others to promote. I didn't see much tech in this one except for the lighter.
.
The amount of kit haha! I love it! Bring whatever you can carry, and obviously you can carry more leisure items on shorter trips. But man, you have a whatchamacallit for every occasion 😂 Keep it up!
I liked your camping.🏕️
I enjoy camping in Japan, too.🇯🇵
Your video gave me a hint!
I appreciate splendid camping.☺️
Always good to see the Stanley Cup come out.
Cool music.
Luke for president!
My biggest messup, like you, involved my 2008 Toyota Tacoma Offroad(my baby). On 101 just inside LA, towing my Scamp 13’. To avoid merging cars who don’t merge but speed up. I reacted badly and scuffled with a car in the other lane. My fault but thank thr Good Lord no one was
hurt. Off to the repair it goes. Stay safe out there Great video🤙
Thanks!
nice to see you using the common man stanley adventure cookset
HAPPY NEW YEAR to Mr. LUKE and his FAMILY❤😊
great job Luke
