      My question is also why need the NDA. I mean it isn't like LTT et al won't be taking it apart as soon as it goes to retail. Like you, as soon as Linus said "NDA" then I called snake-oil. Cooling the underside of the PCB (assuming that is what it is doing, and that is all we can do, assume) is going to do little to cool the transistors doing all the switching. The water needs to be going through a block attached to them in order to cool them with any efficiency.

    • @xxxdroidmonkeyxxx
      @xxxdroidmonkeyxxx 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      To be fair, any high wattage component, especially in a powerful computer can kill you or at the very least, seriously injure you and even burn down the house if it's touched or has a serious malfunction.
      Plus, if you have a bottom mounted PSU and the fan faces upwards while running a water-cooling loop, any leak above the PSU grill can pose the same danger. Just sayin'.

    • @enhydralutra
      @enhydralutra 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I mean, if water comes into contact with any part of your PC, it can cause voltages to jump rails and destroy virtually everything. It's a trade off compared to air cooling; put your PC at a (hopefully insignificant) risk of catastrophic failure and, in turn, get better and quieter performance. That said, the point of water cooling should be to get rid of almost all fans in a system, and the product featured in this video fails miserably at that.

    • @zacharytaylor8523
      @zacharytaylor8523 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Anything out of a PSU is a relatively safe 12v DC at the most, you would have a very hard time injuring yourself on anything inside a PC electrically even with a 1200w system. More likely to suffer small burns from hot components if you touch anything but it won't fail or catch on fire just from you touching it unless you have some really wet fingers.
      The only time you can injure yourself is from the mains voltage side of the power supply which is the reason your never supposed to take one apart or have a water block inside of it.

      Nuclear reactors are not watercooled LOL! they used some supercharged plutonium or whatever it is and have it so it reacts in such away it produces so much heat that it can boil enough water to drive huge turbines.

    • @geriger1
      @geriger1 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      actually, using the nuclear fuel to boil wter and spin turbines is a stone age method to utilize this kind of power. But its like 500% cheaper than any other type of reactor to build, so we are stuck with it.
