Mamma Mia I've been cheated by you since I don't know when So I made up my mind, it must come to an end Look at me now, will I ever learn I don't know how but I suddenly lose control There's a fire within my soul Just one look and I can hear a bell ring One more look and I forget everything Mamma mia, here I go again My my, how can I resist you Mamma mia, does it show again My my, just how much I've missed you Yes, I've been brokenhearted Blue since the day we parted Why, why did I ever let you go Mamma mia, now I really know My my, I could never let you go I've been angry and sad about things that you do I can't count all the times that I've told you we're through And when you go, when you slam the door I think you know that you won't be away too long You know that I'm not that strong Just one look and I can hear a bell ring One more look and I forget everything Mamma mia, here I go again My my, how can I resist you Mamma mia, does it show again My my, just how much I've missed you Yes, I've been brokenhearted Blue since the day we parted Why, why did I ever let you go Mamma mia, even if I say Bye bye, leave me now or never Mamma mia, it's a game we play Bye bye doesn't mean forever Mamma mia, here I go again My my, how can I resist you Mamma mia, does it show again My my, just how much I've missed you Yes, I've been brokenhearted Blue since the day we parted Why, why did I ever let you go Mamma mia, now I really know My my, I could never let you go
Fun fact: This song ended Bohemian Rhapsody's 9 week long reign as UK nr1, and stayed there for 2 weeks. It means "mamma mia" was the most popular phrase in songs in the UK for about 2.5 months, from 29/Nov/1975 until 14/Feb/1976.
I love the counterpoint between Bennie's classically oriented piano theme and Bjorn's pop guitar riff. Who knew something like that would work so well? That is the magic of ABBA in my opinion.
Exactly Alwa. People would be surprised how much Benny took from the classical era into Abbas pop music. But again, it would be hard to understand for the casual listener never aquinted to our grand classical period. I know exactly what you mean. Counterpoint = Bach . Abba = High Baroque best of arias. Few know that Benny is an avid classical listerner. Abba is classical composition with a fixed timescale 4/4,. And the Girls got all this, Frida with her background as a Jazz singer and Agneta with a swedish folk/pop singer from the early teens. ALL the members of Abba have had a long apprentice before they became Abba. And this synergy is on legendary level. There is nothing comparable

The 4 members of ABBA were very often remarked upon as having the best harmony over all. They are still huge in Europe
I love heavy metal music
But Abba has just as much energy! They are soooo good.
Same here, they slaaaap ❣️
Same here! 🤘
Why, yes!
I don't see what there is to enjoy about "music" that is just senseless screaming. I think metal is just noise, not music. But I agree with what you said about Abba having energy.
I like all kinds of music metal, rock, kpop, pop and that's nothing wrong :)
This is the type of song that you just don't get tired of hearing. It's probably my favorite. So happy for them that they are back with new music after 40 years!

ABBA is the best band in the world. Love, admire and greetings from Aleksandra, Zagreb, Croatia🇭🇷❤️😊

Heard the song for the first time in 1975. Decades later, it remains as one of just a handful that can impart a cheerful, uplifing and get-up-and-dance vibe, anywhere, anytime. As long as people still sing and remember this epochal song, there will always, always be ABBA.

this song reminds me of working as a dishwasher in a Massachusetts restaurant in summer 1976. It was always on the FM radio we had on loud in the back, was 16 years old , worked hard, had fun.
I remember 680 WRKO played Abba alot, but that was AM. What FM channel was it?

Mamma Mia
I've been cheated by you since I don't know when
So I made up my mind, it must come to an end
Look at me now, will I ever learn
I don't know how but I suddenly lose control
There's a fire within my soul
Just one look and I can hear a bell ring
One more look and I forget everything
Mamma mia, here I go again
My my, how can I resist you
Mamma mia, does it show again
My my, just how much I've missed you
Yes, I've been brokenhearted
Blue since the day we parted
Why, why did I ever let you go
Mamma mia, now I really know
My my, I could never let you go
I've been angry and sad about things that you do
I can't count all the times that I've told you we're through
And when you go, when you slam the door
I think you know that you won't be away too long
You know that I'm not that strong
Just one look and I can hear a bell ring
One more look and I forget everything
Mamma mia, here I go again
My my, how can I resist you
Mamma mia, does it show again
My my, just how much I've missed you
Yes, I've been brokenhearted
Blue since the day we parted
Why, why did I ever let you go
Mamma mia, even if I say
Bye bye, leave me now or never
Mamma mia, it's a game we play
Bye bye doesn't mean forever

Fun fact: This song ended Bohemian Rhapsody's 9 week long reign as UK nr1, and stayed there for 2 weeks. It means "mamma mia" was the most popular phrase in songs in the UK for about 2.5 months, from 29/Nov/1975 until 14/Feb/1976.

I love the counterpoint between Bennie's classically oriented piano theme and Bjorn's pop guitar riff. Who knew something like that would work so well? That is the magic of ABBA in my opinion.
It doesn't sound that classical to me..
Cool
Contrast. Black and white is always good together
