That's how I came to know most of ABBA's songs.
Same, it's the nightly funky vibe, the 70s instruments and the chords used for me. It's really nostalgic and sometimes sad
Maddona hung up song used the same beat
That keyboard riff is a clear message from God.
Honestly! I am not religious, but I 100% believe it is a rare instance of artistic perfection. No wonder madonna used it for her own song and it sounded just as solid.

@@jackismname may i ask which song?
@@littlecock118 Hung up
yeah seriously
They do not make music like this anymore. We are diminished.
Can't go wrong with that funky bass.
When that chorus hits, it’s unstoppable. It’s like Agnetha and Frida create a sonic boom vocally. Also I love sort of the church choir vocals in the background. It’s crazy to think that those vocals are also coming out of the same two women.
It’s legendary
"Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)"
Half past twelve
And I'm watching the late show in my flat all alone
How I hate to spend the evening on my own
Autumn winds
Blowing outside the window as I look around the room
And it makes me so depressed to see the gloom
There's not a soul out there
No one to hear my prayer
Gimme, gimme, gimme a man after midnight
Won't somebody help me chase the shadows away?
Gimme, gimme, gimme a man after midnight
Take me through the darkness to the break of the day
Movie stars
Find the end of the rainbow, with a fortune to win
It's so different from the world I'm living in
Tired of T.V.
I open the window and I gaze into the night
But there's nothing there to see, no one in sight
There's not a soul out there
No one to hear my prayer

Of all the incredible songs ABBA did, this is probably the most melodic and rhythmic in terms of overall harmony. Loving it in 2021.
Agreed that break is funky !!!!
It's so melodic Benny and Bjorn borrowed parts/elements of this song and used it in Murray Head's "One Night in Bangkok" (Chess). I've never read anything "official"...but I can definitely hear the influence. :-)

But I do see you point

This song is gonna be played like...forever. It's one of the greatest dance songs ever created, it's timeless, and the melody is SO ADDICTIVE! The harmonies are also out of this world, especially at the instrumental part which they sadly cut out of the video.
You can't dance to this... this is just folk bullshit.

Just the heart can make the right direction about ABBA.
