I watched that Christmas movie the other night with the wife. I told her the Pentatonix were a real group. She was stunned, so beautiful. All the best from Western Australia.
I listened to their music video directly before this and her voice has so much power now. that's 3 years of improvement, 2019-2022. I never stop being impressed by any of them.
This is probably my favorite group. I saw them in Knoxville, Tennessee on their Christmas tour. What a fantastic night. They can arrange nearly any song and give me chills.
My favorite one of theirs with this song. You can really see and hear how much Mitch contributes to this song which you can’t really from the official video. His voice really is something.
The intro with Kevin's cello is extremely beautiful. He twisted it a little bit. I just love his creativity. What about Kirstie ? Words aren't enough to say how much she is magnificent. If she was a Pokemon I'd say she reached her mega evolution. I won't be surprised if she reaches another mega evolution. Beautiful piece.
I love this song so much when they do it live, because Matt sounds so much like a cello due to his ability to use vibrato in the low notes, and they mixed it so that he stood out in front of the cello (cellos in this one), if anyone hasn't yet, check out the cover of this song he did with Resound, it's short like 2 min long, but it's so good, or just pay attencion to Matt in this video around when Kirstin starts singing until the end, it's a whole journey!!
You’re taking about this one? He sounds great and I was like, that resonance! :0 th-cam.com/video/ZEuSXxAx6Ag/w-d-xo.html Have you heard of his performance of the song Landslide,
That's a tough song to cover, but they more than nailed it!!! They have evolved from uniquely good to popular good to really good to just truly iconic great. Just when you begin to wonder how they could possibly up their game, they do it again and blow us away. So. Much. Talent!!!!
Woah! Even better than I could've imagined. Kirstie absolutely nailed the lows and highs. I wish Mitch's mic was a bit louder during his bit but it did mean he was well balanced for the rest of the song. Matt was insanely clear as well. Thank you so much for uploading these :)
I too wished Mitch’s volume was louder, after listening to it again, I think the issue wasn’t Mitch’s volume, but more of a snowball affect, Scott singing low too loud, Kirstie raising her volume over Scotts as her part was the prominent one and then Mitch was kind of fighting a losing battle in the background. It is all good, I have noticed this before on other live performances, Scott gets really into it lol.
So, knowing that this was Kirstie’s first show since returning from having her baby, I listened again. At first, she was so close to the studio version that I was afraid she was using a track but when she, Mitch and Scott started their trio section, her voice wavered just a touch and she adjusted her earpiece monitor and came back strong. I’m re-re-re convinced.
What an absolute stellar performance of that song…I think it was even better than the “official”!!! It was really the first time that I had noticed how instrumental ( no pun intended ) Mitch was to making the whole song come together….
Almost in my 80's now. When in my 20's and 30's I was the only female in a band of 4 members. We played night clubs and dinner houses and military clubs. I played bass and was a lead singer and made our matching outfits. We toured for a couple years until our children got school age and the wives of the men of our group started complaining about their husband's absences. That was when it got tough on us as a group, always having to replace a member. We only lasted on the road for a couple of years and had to give up due to not finding replacements while traveling. It was a hard life, dragging our 3 preschoolers with us. When they became school age we had to leave the road and go back to week end performances. It was the most difficult time of my life and the most fun and satisfying time. For me, there was nothing like making music and entertaining. But, when I see these Accapella groups, I'm so amazed and wonder how anyone can enjoy a musical group as much. What talent, what enjoyment, how awesome of a way to spend one's time listening. It sure beats dragging concert PA systems and band equipment around. Oh to be young in this time and have the opportunity to create new forms of music. I've never enjoyed it so much. As time goes on humans continue to grow and find new ways to present joy in their lives and share it with others.
I agree that her range is impressive (I’d specify though that I mean the range of notes that she can belt like sing with her chest fully), but concretely here it’s not more than 2 octaves actually (she finishes the phrase “or do you need more” with G and the highest note “meet” in “I’ll never MEET the ground” is D)
Hadn't heard PTX doing this before, musta been under a rock. BTW I was saying "why bring in drums and bass" then realized it was Kevin and Matt. And that little bit of Bad Romance tossed in...
Such as talented group of singers. Each one has their own uniqueness. I am, however, a bit more partial to Kevin, being a violinist myself, but "beatboxing" AND playing the cello at the same damn time is next level. Kudos!!
These guys continually impress me. Mary did you know will always be my favorite by them . First because it was the first song I ever heard from them and secondly because it’s a beautiful song. Having said that, I love everything they do! They are just so talented!
Amazing as always!! This group just gets better and better. Lol I'm sorry but, I can't help it, I'm chuckling because it looks like Mitch and Scott grabbed the other's outfit!
would love to hear them sing some songs from the movie "jesus christ superstar." there are a few songs that i can envision where they would do very well with.
This group is extremely underrated
For anyone who’s not in the know, Kevin is beatboxing WHILE playing cello….I can’t cook two things separately without burning them. Insanity.
Go check out their cover of Radioactive. Not only is Kevin beatboxing, he is in a string duet with Lindsey Sterling.
Omg that needed a laugh button
amazing.
Almost like singing and playing the guitar
Exactly! I was astounded!
He's beatboxing and playing the cello..amazing ❤❤❤❤❤
Kirsties voice is absolutely magical! I love when she has longer parts in songs.
She has clearly been taking lessons and learning from them!
This was my first PTX concert at the Hollywood Bowl. They didn’t disappoint. It was an amazing experience.
I’m sure Gaga and Bradley loved this cover. PTX puts a special flavor on everything they touch.
And when Kevin brings in his cello…….masterpiece 💜
日本でコンサートをされないのでしょうか?
是非行きたいです♪
Kevin’s talent just blows me away. Amazing

Kristens voice is so incredible now it has improved so much since the early days

This group is so talent. It’s super crazy how good they all are!!!
Hello Kathy, how are you doing
И не только они.))
The trio always pop off in this number
Hi Lucy, how are you doing
My favorite one of theirs with this song. You can really see and hear how much Mitch contributes to this song which you can’t really from the official video. His voice really is something.
Music is a gift from heaven……just like these five incredible individuals. Gratitude for experiencing their talent does even cover it. 🤯
The intro with Kevin's cello is extremely beautiful. He twisted it a little bit. I just love his creativity.

I like the variations in this version vs their "Shallow" video. Especially Scott. Kirstie was amazing.
Hi Celia, how are you doing

❤😂I t
What are you talking about. This is perfectly in balance. You just prefer Mitch to be louder, but balance wise... This is spot on.

Definitely during this performance there are a few moments where a track is playing. For Mitch high chest note climax too
What an absolute stellar performance of that song…I think it was even better than the “official”!!!

Absolutely beautiful!
I am truelly addicted to them. Cannot stop listening. Over and over again. It's truelly amazing. 💗
Kristen you knocked it out of the park on this one !
1. This is the best live sound. 2. I’ve listened again and again and missed Matt’s bass line, especially in the harmony section: smooth as honey.

amazingly beautiful version of an amazingly beautiful song!

Я заплакала, когда впервые услышала эту песню. Когда вступил Кевин
Love y'all so much. You always my heart happy. Thank you❤👏👏❤
Love Matt’s bass in this song. Gives a nice contrast to a vocal bass and a cello.
I just can't get enough of this concert! 💖💖💖💖💖
Kirstie doesn't get to show off to this extent often. Glad to see her show she is the guys equal
Just stumbled upon these guys guys are awesome. Keep it up.
