Blessed I got to see them open for Ozzy in April of 1986 with Cliff still on Bass. One of My MOST Memorable Concerts of my life. And I've been to Many Many shows, festivals and Concerts.
❤❤❤❤❤ I love their instrumentals I don't know if you've reacted to them already but "the call of Ktulu" "to live is to die" and "anesthesia pulling teeth" are amazing Cliff would be proud, young man
Dude!!! Wicked good pick!!! It always reminds me of driving along the central Oregon coast watching the waves crash against the rocks and beach. Beautiful tune!!!
AY MAN THIS WAS A PHENOMENAL REACTION. Orion is one of my favorite songs; Ima probably name my kid after this song. It's one of my favorite to watch people react to, and this is amongst the better ones, good shit bruh!
This album has a whole is really insane when you think about it. Recorded in just 3 months It's the ONLY heavy metal album in the Library of Congress: National Recording Archives In it's first 3 weeks, it sold over 300,00 copies - 500,000 over the course of the first year. All of that done with very little radio play and NO videos. And written by a group of 22/23 year old's The story goes with Orion that Ray Burton {RIP} told Cliff that while he and his mother were proud of him, he didn't write anything that they could Waltz to. So Cliff's love and understanding of classical came to light. His study of classical music was very much brought to the forefront on this album. A damn shame that it was his last. If you want another incredible instrumental; "To Live Is To Die" from the ...And Justice For All album. It's a great tribute and eulogy to their fallen brother.
@@kylec1411 right?? I'm so mad at my 35-year Prince obsession now! I got into heavy metal back in 03... And I got into Metallica while on sick leave two years ago... I've been obsessed ever since... I'm also obsessed with Lovecraft and Antarctica 🤷🏿♀️
@@mztweety1374 nice. im more into japanese metal now. But yes i became a metal fan in the mid 90's. im 38. You should check out: Babymetal, Maximum the hormone/ lovebites/ hanabie/ asterism/ opeth/ the hu. All amazing bands. Bloodywood is good too.
They used to do an instrumental without any lyrics in their early albums, they stopped for a while, and restarted their tradition on death magnetic in 2008. Always liked it. Listen to the call of Ktulu (from ride the lightning), or to live is to die (from and justice for all).
Fun fact: There are at least two lead sections of this song that are played fully by the bass. One directly before the transition to the final guitar solo, and one right at the beginning of the song before the main riff kicks in.
I still say that the Ultimate Thunderous Riff Metallica ever did was done with an Orchestra Collab on the Song "No Leaf Clover" ....its a Freight Train Coming Your Way!
Holy crap 20 seconds in and I got to be the first to catch this…..rock on
R.I.P. Cliff Burton

When that commercial came in, your reaction was what we were all feeling too. Like how you let it fade out to the very end as well.

I’m in love with all of them. I need a time machine so I can go back and Fangirl over them.

Lit asf upload 👍
7:43 Stax said "man, that guitar is so nasty! My goodness..." then at 7:48 Cliff says "let me show you how nasty a bass can be!"
CRASH! Mate you gotta do 'WHIPLASH' by these guys, pure energy! ❤🇬🇧

Same! Will always be one of my favorite instrumentals!

maaan that ad was diabolical
‼️‼️🔥🔥
I was eight when this dropped
I bought this album when it hit the stores, and Orion was what I put on to go to sleep. 😂
Awesome🔥

They were all basically "children" when they wrote these classical pieces of music. R.I.P. Cliff Burton.🤘
The best thing Metallica ever put out was Dave Mustaine.
The first 4/5 albums of this band are timless metal classics for me.
This was cool, man. Def Leppard 'Photograph' next? 😎
Metallica - The Call Of Ktulu is another instrumental only song they did.. Check it out when you get the chance!
Betttt
Cliff's swan song
Extra chunky, just like I like my peanut butter
💙🔥🙏
I love this song and already know you will too judging on how you appreciate music. Any chance we can get RZA ‘A day to God is a thousand years’?
‼️🙏‼️
Gas! Please do a bunch of songs from first 4 albums please.
🙏🙏🙏
Orion=Oh Ryan

Cliff Burton rules! But then, I'm also in the 'It should have been Lars' camp. 😊
