Hi Russ, Watching this video brought back great childhood memories. I grew up in Quartzsite in the 70s & 80s. We used to climb "Q" mountain all the time and explore those mines. Thank you for showing this and reminding me of those childhood golden days!!

Being at the mining site probably wasn't all that great when miners had to pour out their sweat to work it, but we really enjoyed the way it looks today. Love that arid kinda' territory!
We drove our 2wd suburban out by Q mountain and the intaglio when we were there last year. Pretty cool. The trail around it was closed off though. No Quartzsite this year. Our employers will be most harsh if we leave So. Cal. Thanks for showing us around.
🙋♀️ Hello Russ! Really was a wonderful day to explore around "Q" mountain. The mining process is interesting to see what all is involved. The Intaglios' are fascinating. The Blythe are the oldest, (450-2000 years old) with the "1" figure measuring 171' (longest). If these mountains could talk, sure would be interesting to hear comparison of then vs now. I waved back at you in the rear view mirror. 👍 hehe
I made a gas run in my SxS yesterday to Loves, then I went up to those same mines. I was wondering if that was you up on top of the mine, when I took the lower road to it yesterday.

Just went on Google Maps and measured the "Q". It's 70 feet high. Man that's a lot of paint.
Would bring my mountain bike in cooler weather when I drive my van down.
