It's funny, where I live we have some of the best winter weather in the country... And I LONG to go to Quartzite in the winter.. not so much for the weather, but I hear it's a lot of fun... ( I live in SE Louisiana, yesterday it was almost 80f..and I had to run the AC🤣)

I got my bearings in the beginning of the video by going to Google maps and starting at the Quartzsite Fire Department. From there, it was easy to follow along the roads and trails you were mentioning. I've had a lot of good camping trips over the years in Quartzsite... last trip a couple of weeks ago I stopped at Silly Al's for some delicious pizza. Nice to see you were able to get the drone flying a few times for different perspectives around town. Looking to return again soon. Cheers! Pete in Phoenix - KI7LIL

P.S. Ever thought of going south to Yuma, cross the border into Mexico and show us the Sea of Cortez ? Of course you would need Mexican car insurance for a couple of days but you could bring back swell images. RICHARD

The wife and I travel up to Quartzsite from Yuma regularly to offroad in our sxs. It is absolutely amazing at all the trails available fairly close to town. Just a friendly reminder that an off road permit is required for all vehicles that travel off road in Arizona. Law enforcement is starting to enforce that as well as the 2 week stay limit on BLM land. Nice tour Russ!

I've been looking through the available histories of Quartzsite because I'm interested in the quartz mines and what the quartz was used for. I would imagine it was for the war effort and production of radios and such but haven't been able to trace any specific information. Quartz is what was and is used to create the frequencies for tuning a radio.

Very very nice. I feel like you gave an excellent tour and orientation. The drone footage really helped. I plan on visiting soon from the frozen north (Spokane Valley, WA) :) I noticed you were driving on paved roads. I have a Pioneer 700-4 Deluxe and it is registered for both on road and off road (Washington). Is it legal to drive it there?
