Class 43s on Network Rail Test Train.

A warm day at Carlisle where I spent a short time - over two periods - recording mainly freight plus the Test Train.
Avanti trains were absent due to that day's ASLEF Strike. It did actually feel quiet as a result!
So we have Class 43s, Class 66, Class 68 and Class 70!
The times shown on clips are for guidance only and shouldn't be taken as definitive.

I guess Chelsea Flower show must be soon. Ciitadel greening up well, even some nice yellow daisies to add splash of colour. Maybe track recorder noted weeds .

Absolutely. There are already fields ready for a good silage crop adjacent to the train shed. I think a coupole of Gnom,es in Newtork Rail Orange would look good!

Okay Leslie where were you hiding on the station last Wednesday. I was on platform 3 with five work colleagues on the way back from Newcastle. We got the 15:17 Trans Pennine service back up the road. We had a 35 min wait between arriving on the Northern service and the TPE one leaving. Pumpkin Cafe was shut so we sat in the sunshine on P3. I went looking for you but you clearly hid yourself well 😂
I'd be in the Border MRC room chatting otherwise I'd have been there for a chat,. Gets quiet in an afternoon! Pumpkin seems to shut for any reason!
The tast train was in wick from Inverness on Sunday
So I heard. They do get around. The routes seem to be fixed for monthly (or near) runs around the country.

Well the latest test units based on 153s just have a driver. I think the 950 is the same - just records and sends pictures to Derby where someone centrally controls and decides.

A lot of the 397s seem to have new or replacement nose cones, what do they keep hitting anyone?
I don't know what they hit. 397004 was one of the first with a grey unpainted nose. I suspect they hit something solid occasionally at depots or termini. Buffers maybe,
007 also has replacement valance panels under the nose cone. I bet you’ll notice them all now 😂
