I enjoyed your video. I'm a caregiver now. I'm 51. I've been a CNA years ago. I've worked in the field for awhile. I love the elderly and helping them. I work with all ages with this agency. I'm in CNA school now. I'll finish in October 2020. I want to be on my own with my own clients or client. Working hands on myself right now. I started to apply at a facility for stability until c19 hit. So instead of jumping from job to job working for someone else for$8! I want to be on my own and get paid what I'm worth.
Sounds like the beginning of a great plan. I hope you well!
Me2, minus being a cna.
Wow this is great! Such a creative way to get the information to the people. Thank you from Sacramento California, Starting my Homecare Business .

You ladies are so fun 😂. Can you do videos on how you, as an owner, structure your days? Almost like a “day in the life”? And how your staff structure their days with clients? Like do they time batch or how do they organize which clients to see and when, etc. thanks!
I enjoy watching you all😂
Am watching this video about two years down the line but the information is still up to date and on point. Great fun and informative video. 💖 Starting out (in Oaklahoma) how much should I charge a client (approximately) when I have 4 yrs experience but no certifications? I'm solo btw. And do I have to pick a name for my business, purchase an llc, get bonded (ect.), and register with the state if I only plan to have one client?
Thanks
You are welcome!

😂😂😂 love it!!
Omg Coach Michele I love you and I've been following your for years and I just got contracted with my state (Arizona). I've been trying to prepare myself. Your videos are awesome
Rhonnie yes!!! Congrats!!! What contract did you get? I’m so proud of you!!!!
@@IAMCOACHMICHELE Thank you I'm a Vendor with DDD to start servicing Developed Mentally Disabled but I also want to have private duty home care services as well. Eventually move up with Group Homes and An Awesome senior living Facility.
How were you able to get started in az?
Can you have the client get the assessment from the primary doctor?
❤
I loved your role play can we see an office setup of the home agency or daily routine
Great question...I will add to my list of video topics.
This was so helpful!!! I cant tell you how many homes I went in and "winged it" lol
Ashley Banks no longer winging it:)
That is so me when you switch rolls to be your mom I get into mommy mode real quick when I’m taking care of business I always pull my glasses down 😂😂😂😂🤷🏽♀️🥰
Dom Faithful lol
Ok I love this
So if it’s non medical
What’s the nurse for?
Can someone else do the assessment?
I’m just learning for the states that don’t require nurse.
Just wondering what would be the verbiage when it comes to the money part and how much should I be asking to cover ?
When she transferred onto mom 😂😂
You girls are too funny! Sharon did a fabulous job! Just curious, could the Nurse do the intake and the assessment, together? If not, could the intake person and the Nurse visit together, or overlap, so there’s only one visit to the Client? Love the energy you too have together..
Brian Melany yes the RN can do both if he/she understands the intake/business side. Most people hire RN as independent contractors so they may not know the business requirements. I don’t recommend doing at the same time for a few reasons: You are meeting with a potential client. If the potential client doesn’t sign up...you will be responsible for paying the RN. I hope this helps.
I appreciate your response. It does seem that the Intake visit should be separate, for the reasons that you mentioned. Thank you for pointing this out to me.
❤❤❤
Great role play - I noticed the Homecare rep is expecting payment/deposit (whats a recommended percentage?) before services are rendered. Is that standard practice on going throughout a service agreement or would it be on a case by case basis?
Thank you so much, I loved it!... FUNNY

I felt like I was watching a real enrollment. This was very informative & super helpful!!
Thank you for this education.
Yes, she did. I was so proud of her and thankful she allowed it to be recorded to help others.
okay 👌🏽
Hello. So, is it mandatory for a nurse to come out and evaluate before services can start? If so, how do you go about staffing nurses to do this?? Thank you.
Hi, I love all your videos. One question: What is the average hourly rate for a company to charge a client. A caregiver gets paid an average of $18 per hr. How much does a company have to charge to make a profit?
Hi, thank you! It varies based on your local market. Not all caregivers get paid $18 we hour.
I would recommend researching your local market then determine your fees and rates.

Love the role play video. I must say $18.00 an hour is VERY inexpensive where I'm from :). Now, wouldn't you need to complete an "assessment' and document it? And from the assessment create the Care Plan? Our state doesn't require a nurse to conduct this portion. Perhaps your state requires it. I'm new to this process and just received our license so I haven't met with a family just yet. Thank you!
Yes, an assessment and plan of care is required in most states. The hourly rate varies depending on where you live. Yes, $18 is low for many states. It was used in the role play as an example.
For payment can you ask for monthly pay and if so can you ask the client for a month in advance. 😊
Yes you can! I don’t recommend.

Also for holidays is it appropriate to ask the client to pay extra if we have caregivers working
1 1/2 should be noted in your agreement.

Hello Michelle , If I am RN and a home home care agency owner, Can I do comprehensive assessment on my clients?
Yes, only a Registered Nurse can do Comp Assessments in states that are regulated.
Both of you are so Awesome
$18 is not enough to pay CNA. How can we cover the costs? I am in PA. CNA gets pay $16-20 per hour.
Do you charge RN to assess the client? How much? Thank you for the fantastic video.
Correct, this is an old video. Yes, the RN Assessment isn’t free; however, not everyone charge for it.

Question: What is the typical payout amount for a contracted nurse to do a comprehensive assessment? Also, is it 100% necessary for the owner to do the initial visit or can it be an employee like an Executive Assistant or someone else who has the specific role of conducting intake assessments?
Starkey Roberson good morning. Great questions...it really depends on the R&Rs of your state. I would suggest printing them, reading them, creating your policies, if you are in a regulated state. If not then you can create your procedures on how you would like the business to operate.
The compensation you pay your staff needs to be developed based on your city/town’s pay scale at a minimum. Google “RN pay in abc county”. That may help.
Coach Michelle do you have an example of an intake form?
We will be introducing New Client & Employee Packets on out website soon.
@@IAMCOACHMICHELE Great! Thank you for this information. I appreciate it.
What about non-medical agencies? Can you do role play for a non-medical agencies. Thanks
I believe this video and all of her videos are for non-medical
Do you have to have a RN even. If you are private Duty Non- medical, I’m from Louisiana!!
Good question because im in Florida and I didn’t think it’s required either, but check with your state regulations.
No
Do they have to pay for the RN intake visit? If so how much is that visit
Yes, it depends on your fee schedule and area. We pay between $65 and $85.
I'm in FL starting up a hha..For non-skilled hha would we still need to do a rn assessment?
Absolutely!!
Hello,
I am opening my home care agency soon. It’s a non-skilled, non-medical agency. Do I need to hire a RN to do the comprehensive assessment as well? Or does that only apply to skilled agencies? I am located in Massachusetts.
Thank you.
Btw, I just discovered your videos a few hours ago and I’ve been binge watching them. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. God bless you!
How to manage a private pay client? How do you obtain a client intake along with the agreement?
All procedures and forms should be developed based on your state’s rules & regulations.
My problem is funding the employees before payment is provided from the clients, Where to get funding? is a loan a good idea?
collect a deposit...
So how much money is the client giving up front? Maybe I missed it…how do we come up with that initial payment figure?
It’s based on one week of service.
