    I love the hatchback/fastback. Looks faster, still has ton of space. IMO way better looking and basically the "same space" - there is probably very few people that fill the trunk completely to its HEIGHT. Mostly just width, depth. And ofc, new orange color is so nice... I'm kinda sick of 50 shades of black/white/gray cars.
    Also!, "sedans" with big hatch are so rare nowadays... this facelifted Octavia will probably replace my "hatchback/fastback" Mondeo.

    Very nice clean lines inside-out. Looks amazing from every angle outside and this makes it attractive. Skoda cars in late years have improved so much with the Octavia being my favorite! I like the new headlights with Matrix LED what a difference in night driving! Inside my favortie part is the rocker DSG switch on the centre console adds so much to the sporty look specially the VRS with the 3 spoke steering wheel and red stiching.
    I will remain with VW group and I'll admnit that Skoda won me against stonger competitors such as BMW and Merc.
    Merc if you're reading this a gear selector belongs on the centre console not on the steering wheel. How can you keep one hand on the steering wheel during parking and switch between D and R with your other hand if the lever is on the steering column? Some of us drive with one hand on the steering wheel whilst resting the other on the arm rest making it easy to reach the rocker switch.
    Well done Skoda!
    Thx for reading my post.

    • @SajjieSajj
      @SajjieSajj 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'd agree, however in my experience, the Škoda lights were always on the dimmer side. I drove the pre-facelift Škoda Superb 3rd gen with the upgraded headlights and when I then sat back to my Audi SQ8 to compare, the Audi's regular light at night (without high beams) were probably as bright as the high beams in the Superb. Also with the high beams, Audi did much better job with dimming parts of its lights to not blind oncomming cars, it was snapier, came back to full high beam quicker and overall gave me more confidence. Of course this can be mostly given due to SQ8 being a class higher and way more expensive and luxurious car, but still lights is not something I want to cheap out on.

    • @djalienro
      @djalienro 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    As a mk4 VRS owner I would advise extreme caution with regard to any VW group car / software. For 9 months I had almost daily software crashes and black screening. Took 4 trips to the dealer to eventually get it in a half decent state. It totally ruined my “new car” ownership experience. This coming from a mk3 VRS owner which was an amazing car. My last 5 cars have all been Skodas but my current will be the last, which is a shame.

    Combi looks better to me. The problem I'm having is the pice. My lease goes out this year and am looking what to buy next; 1.5 TSI DSG with Sport line and few extras is 38 800eur here while for 7500 less you can get a Ceed with 160hp, also dual clutch gearbox and GT Line equipment which actually has more that Octavia. I wish it was 4K eur cheaper, would have been an easier choice. If I'd really put all the extras that I actually want, price would go a bit over 40 000eur which is too much for Octavia 1.5 tsi. And that's money for which you can get something nicer 1y old with very low kilometers on the clock.
    Again kudos for your approach, I like to hear how doors sound and all the measurements.

      It is not a decision. It is an unavoidable consequence of the relative shortage of talent, hard work, and pragmatic and meritocratic approach in the VW team. Be sure that the decision in the group communicated to VW is the order to make better cars than Škodas. It is just hard to fulfill the order 😂.

    A nice review. The liftback is prettier, chic. I hate that almost all cars on Czech streets are estates or SUVs, boring group think of a sort. The four eyes in headlamps may be provocative but I think that they will be much less hated than four eyes in a previous generation. But I am really disappointed that there are no Smart Dials. Maybe they wanted to keep space for octavia 5 but these headlights looks broken. 2 part headlights where angles does not match each other looks like lights from 2 different cars, same as octavia 3 facelift. Actually they could start with these and do facelift with original and it would be improvement.

    I'd go for the estate/combi/station-wagon, though i think if the rear was more squared-off it'd be more practical, i do wish manfactureres would get away from this trend of coupé styling spoiling practicality. However i would also be interested in the the lift-back/hatch sedan/saloon, much more useful than the traditional boot. Just a shame about still not enough buttons on the dash but at least real buttons on the steering wheel. Like the seats too unlike, say BMW, with too much stitching on the seat base compromising comfort - seriously i'm fed-up with the "premium" brands as they just want to make designer goods for the Chinese market, these Skoda are very appealing cars, maybe i should drop getting a 1-Series and get one of these, i mean, who can resist a snow brush? ;-)
