    Combining all of the below comments seem not enough to express how well have you done this Video! So brilliant so meticulous so careful step by step of the procedures moreover you repeat the second process to ensure the machine is thoroughly flush the remain residue of the tablet if there was any. Thanks so much. Enjoy your life I am most certain you will take care of yourself as well as the machine. I honestly think Breville should pay you or hire you to promote their products. You are genuine the winner. So long!!!

    Your videos are so clear and precise. I appreciate that. I have had my machine since September and clean it every Friday, except no tablet and I use the provided brush and canned air to dislodge and blow out the grinder of all residue. I use purified water in the machine so the descale light has never come on. But I followed this video and used the provided tablet today. My question is it necessary to use the tablet if the descale light doesn’t come on or is using the tablet just a good preventative every 3 months or so?

    • @AjusCafe
      @AjusCafe  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you.
      Descale is different cycle compared to Clean cycle. And tablet is used for Clean cycle or Backflush.
      Assuming you are referring to Clean cycle, then Yes you need to Clean using tablet in Portafilter every 3 months atleast, in order to avoid coffee stain buildup. Even if the light blinks or not, you need to run clean cycle. Same applies to Descale cycle as well, where u use Descale power in the water tank.

    • @jeanpowell981
      @jeanpowell981 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AjusCafe I run the clean cycle every Friday plus thoroughly clean the grinder, filter head and froth wand. But I’ve never gotten the descale message I guess since I use filtered water always. But as you suggested, I’ll continue using the descale tablet every 3 months. Thanks again.

    • @AjusCafe
      @AjusCafe  หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's normal. Your cleaning disk has a hole in the middle. Right? Some version doesn't have a hole and it blocks all water. Both will bring water up and into the tray to clean. All good.

    • @AjusCafe

      Not necessary, but its always good to clean group head mesh filter if you can, as there could be lot of deposits hiding there too.

  • @DavidCJConroy
    @DavidCJConroy ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great explanation and very succinct. My machine startled me yesterday as I was making coffee the steam wand pressure dropped and I noticed a foul burning smell coming from the group head which had the unbrewed coffee holder in place. I stopped steaming and removed the coffee holder which came away explosively with a POP and spread the coffee grounds everywhere. I couldn’t find anything about this except a few people on a forum who experienced it and said a descale seemed to fix the problem. Do you have experience of this?

    • @AjusCafe
      @AjusCafe  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't experienced this issue. If you dial to steam (all the way), it shouldn't generate any pressure on the Grouphead. I suspect the steam wand unit may be failing. Anyway do a Descale and Clean cycle to rule out the calcium buildup as the culprit

    • @DavidCJConroy

      I guess you’ve never bought a bad apple before. You must have extremely good luck. It doesn’t matter who made a product, there’s ALWAYS a chance something could go wrong with it. After 2 years, maybe you got a defective part or maybe it was user error not properly cleaning/descaling. When you purchase an item that’s expensive like this, you might want to consider getting an extended warranty.
      The Breville brand is amazing and seriously is the absolute best espresso machine for the money. Maybe you should contact Breville instead of TH-camrs for more info. I’m sure they’d be happy to help 🤷‍♂️

    Aju, regardless which basket I use, the rubber cleaning disk the water drains straight though the portafilter defeating the back pressure clean. Thoughts?

    • @AjusCafe
      @AjusCafe  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Some cleaning disk has a whole, but there is enough pressure to clean backflush anyway. Either use cling wrap on your cleaning disk and use OR use it with pressurized basket. Its all normal.

      I don't have experience with that. But i read its organic. It should be safe to clean the GroupHead backwash. Not sure about descaling use as it goes through all plumbing systems including boiler.

    • @AjusCafe
      @AjusCafe  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Once you remove the hopper,, there is a little cut just above the burrs facing towards you. That switch is not engaging. That's why the filter size is flashing. You can use something like a toothpick and press i to the little cut and see if it engages. Maybe just vaccum the top area and see if a broken bean is stuck.

    Hi. Do you know what might be the reason that then I do descaling the water comes out only the group head not the water component or steam wand? Like as soon as I switch to any of them water comes the same second from group head? I tried descaling and cleaning cycle.a.few times. Water only comes out the group head. Will appreciate your input

    • @AjusCafe
      @AjusCafe  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There could be 2 reasons I can think of.
      1. The steam wand is clogged. You need to clean that thoroughly th-cam.com/video/DWivoLznT8Y/w-d-xo.html
      2. It could be more complicated, the seal that switches between the steam and water is broken, which will need to be fixed.
      Does this happen only during descale mode or even while trying to froth milk?

    • @AjusCafe
      @AjusCafe  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Does your blind disk have a hole in the middle and water slowly dripping though the Portafilter? Because some model of BBE has hole ans what you see half pressure is normal.

    • @AjusCafe
      @AjusCafe  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lalaland8881 Answer is NO. No Descale products should be used for Clean cycle. Either use Breville tablet OR Cafiza powder which is the highly recommended. In Clean Cycle you are cleaning only the coffee oils, old grinds stuck in backflush plumbing etc only. Descale is different and Descale cycle is for cleaning boiler and other components in your coffee machine.

    • @AjusCafe
      @AjusCafe  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Cleaning Tablets are used for cleaning GroupHead and backwash area only. When its time to clean the Clean/Descale light will be BLINKING.
      Descaling Powder is for descaling the whole machine, i.e. all plumbing inside the machine. When its time to Descale, the Clean/Descale will be solid ON.
