Joey Carbstrong hi, i really like these type of stuffs. You did an amazing job up there. In my opinion you should start a franchise of these and make more youtube videos. (I know these are not for money. ) So you guys should spread this message world wide. Dont go towards the terrorist organizations who kill humans for fun, cause when they kill humans most of the dead are gonna be meat lovers. So it will definitely help your goal( one non vegan dead will help thousands of animals, right?). After accomplishing your goal with human, go with your mission to each and every forest and kill all the carnivores animals including lion, tiger, cheetah, panther, hyena, leopard, mosquito, cat, dog, lizard, cockroach, fox, wolves, bear, raccoon, coatis, wolverine, minks etc. that will help millions of animals to grow up.

The nutrients that are found in meat are nutrients that were before in plants. Animals eat the plants and get nutrients from them.

Nice how meat eaters pretend we do live in a "perfect world" when rationalizing their choices. The vast majority of the meat people consume in developed countries comes from hellish factory farms. And the meat not produced on factory farms is actually _less_ sustainable since it takes so much longer for animals to mature. Even if 100% lived well, is it okay to murder a human once they reach a certain weight just because they were treated okay earlier?

Not true. There are regenerative farms that only use compost instead of animal fertilizers. The soil is so healthy that compost is only added once every few years.

If you really care to make an argument, first lookup the amount of 1. Deforestation done in the name of raising animals 2. Produce grown to feed animals 3. Water consumed for raising animals.

You missed the point, the job isn't to stop inflicting pain completely and entirely, it's to mitigate pain and reduce it substantially, albeit there will be pain in an ecosystem.
And by the way, the suffering we inflict upon these animals is way worse than when they're in the wild getting hunted down, and the numbers and statistics of their deaths in farms are way more, your logic is fallacious.

@@Benjamin-hp8mw Meat eating in itself is not wrong. We are built to eat meat, we're omnivores. The problem is how the industry treats the animals. My family hunts our own meat to avoid contributing to it. This is okay in my book because I know the animal lived a happy life the way it was meant to, in the wild. Plus, we know none of the meat goes to waste and that its death was painless. We kill far less animals too, considering that a good sized buck lasts over a month. So yeah. I think meat eating is ok as long as you're not endorsing the industry.

I'm going vegan for health reasons mainly. If humans are meant to eat meat why don't we have the sharp teeth of other meat eaters? Why do we have to cook our meat, and we don't chase our prey and bite into their flesh while they live, like other carnivores/omnivores? People started eating animals (and other humans) due to starvation but we're not starving anymore.
But I agree with non-vegans who pointed out animals are violent with each other. I don't think farmers are causing MORE violence than is natural already.

The fertility of the soil would dry up fast if livestock wasn't being kept on it and we'd still have to butcher species like cows into extinction anyways otherwise we'd have roaming herds eating everything in sight.

I just watched a really good documentary on the history of the Amazon and how most of it is a big garden. In the Amazon the people that inhabited it had to resort to "black dirt" (which is still kind of a mystery how it is made) to fertilize. I also agree on the farming of pigs. I do watch all of these documentaries that come out and also have farming in the family. Pig farming can be cruel, and it is as you said the amount of mass production needed that creates these situations. As well as greed and lack of empathy of course. Unfortunately people don't really understand one of us has to die. People have to decrease or animals need to be killed and consumed.

The same stuff that has been linked to increased oestrogen levels in males which leads to reduced testosterone levels, loss of sex drive, erectile dysfunction and also sees levels of blood DHEA and DHT levels plummet significantly. Animal studies also linked the isoflavones in soy to breast cancer. The correlation between increased breast cancer in men and an increase in unfermented soy consumption is shocking to say the least... The truth is we need a balanced diet which includes meat, admittedly in lower volumes, but to say we can stop eating meat altogether is not realistic at present.

2. "The cows are happy until death"
This sidesteps the entire issue surrounding their torturous death but even if we grant you it, all dairy cows must be forcefully impregnated by farmers to get them to produce milk, and their babies are taken away from them hours after birth and the cows mourn for their lost kids. If that is happy to you then I don't know what kind of life you are living.
Additionally, they are given growth hormones to make them more profitable which cause them a number of health problems and pain during their short time alive. It is anything but happy.
3. "Life is cruel"
This is not a justification to do a different, also cruel, action. Again, just because nazis would treat jews worse than the prison system - this obviously doesn't justify imprisoning jews for being jews.
4. "You only look at the abuse in their death instead of their entire life"
There are 2 majors issues in this argument:
A) You are again trying to just ignore the torturous death they undergo as if it doesn't exist.
B) You are completely neglecting all of the pain and abuse they go through during their lives. Especially when 99% of meat in america comes from factory farming, it is abuse the entire time.
You clearly haven't discussed these issues with any vegans before watching this short video so I don't blame you for not knowing about it, but ignorance only holds when you are unaware. You do not need animal products to be healthy. Animal proteins are bad for your health. Everything else that could be good for you can be found in fruits, veggies and nuts. Obviously a "vegan" eating only fries, chips and salads dripping with oil and vinegar will have poor health though.
What ecosystem are you talking about these animals never saw nature, they shouldn't exist the only reason they live is to be killed. If you stopped producing meat these animals would cease to exist period.

People that really love animals do not eat meat.
As a former plant-based advocate, I got caught up in the ideology trying to prove my point of humans thriving on a vegan diet. I asked myself honestly, What if a great famine happened? I wonder how vegans can survive on a plant-based diet. They can't live on grass and wild berries long term, and most are poisonous eaten raw, and sometimes even cooked. We just don't have the right digestive system to absorb nutrients like herbivores. Our bodies are designed to eat meat because millions of years ago, we've evolved to become omnivorous hunters. Look at the comparison of a human digestive system vs a cow's digestive system. A cow's first chamber of the digestive system is called the rumen, the largest part that plays a role in fermentation, filled with billions of microorganisms that help break down the grass and other vegetation, which humans, chickens, and pigs cannot.
[ est. 300,000 years of being homo sapien vs a century of full access to plant varieties is an amazing human achievement indeed but does not change our biology. ]
If you really want to change the world, change your ideologies into something more logical and mindful. I'm an advocate of "you are what you eat", Don't eat from factory farms, and avoid or lessen processed foods, eat locally raised animals with no antibiotics, treated well, they eat an adequate meal [not grains but grass!!], and aren't abused during their lifetime. If you think about how cruel life can be living out in the wild, cows, chickens, and pigs won't last in harsh weather conditions and would be food for the wolves within the season or shorter. The benefit of free-roam farm animals is that they help land flourish and renew. Without them, we wouldn't be able to keep up with the demands of crops because there's nothing to feed the soil [note there's a reason why cows, especially, are viewed as sacred animals in some parts of the world].
Food for thought: Think about the massive amount of pesticide involved with keeping crops from being eaten by animals and insects. Think about monocropping becoming a norm because of our demand for crops. These are also impacting our planet's soil and ecosystem. When crop demand increases, more wild animals will die because of our demands to protecting these crops, burning the land for more space for monocropping which causes scarcity of food for the wild...Think about the impact this has on our planet as a whole. Nothing humans do is perfectly ethical and with one action there's a reaction. Again be mindful of your food source.
Yes, it's sad that ending a life is involved so you can nourish your body but It's the circle of life we're apart of and very much aware of but some want to detach because of ethical reasons. [which is their god-given right to do whatever so.]
My point is, don't get wrapped up in the ideology, be mindful and grateful for the food you consume. Your dollar is your vote on how we treat the planet but do not force ideologies, especially when you don't know the ancestral history, biology, let alone the individuals' genetics. If the plant-based diet works for you, great! However, please understand that EVERYONE is different and the human body is just too complex to just switch to an incomplete diet that takes a lot of preparation to get the adequate amount of nutrients that your body needs to thrive.

Yes, very good explanation! I'm considering to go plant based myself but I don't want to associate myself with veganism. Yes, I understand why they don't eat meat not only for health reasons but for how the animals are treated and I understand why they tell others to stop eating meat but if I need to kill an animal and eat it to survive I'm gonna do it and not care about the animal feelings! I might have to muster up some courage to actually kill it but I'll still do it at the end of the day. Also, if family members or friends offer you meat whether they're aware of your lifestyle or not, unless if you're allergic to meat it's very rude of you to not eat what is given to you!
We do have the correct digestive system to eat plants though, it’s right there in our biology. I would argue humans are more adapted to eat a plant based diet than a meat based one.

You're missing out of several nutrition like zinc, b12, heme iron which are all vital for not only brain and organ function but super vital to your fertility, that's supplement will not suffice because it has no energy and life to it and most of the time they're placebos with fillers. Plants are for cleansing the body while animal based foods are for building and repair.
Yes, you're body will be fine on this diet for a while and I do recommend people trying it for a short period of time for cleansing but you're biology go through a cannibalization process if it doesn't have adequate nutrients; first taking nutrients from your muscles because the body doesn't see it has priority over vital organs, causing atrophy, then to other parts of the body like you're liver and kidneys, then lowing your brain and other organ function, and then when your immune system become compromise, there's a problem. Might feel great right now but your body is under a fasting / cleansing process and depending on how long you've been in this lifestyle, possibly can be in "survival mode". I didn't feel the effects until 6 years later in my plant based journey. If you're starting to get sick often, brain fog, or sex drive is going down. You should stop and listen to your body and see a doctor. It wasn't until I became Nutritionist, I understood what the body wants. I needed to get my life back.
Side note, If you're supplementing to get the missing nutrients, there's something wrong with your diet.
