The man who next got in the cab found it and contacted Billy and set up a place to meet so the man could give him his wallet back. I'm not proclaiming to be an expert in Astrology but I do know a few things about it. Aquarius is a beautiful song that ushers in the age of Aquarius. Previously, we have been in the age of Pisces. An age in which a lot was unknown to mankind. The age of Aquarius opened eyes to what was hidden by the age of Pisces. Unfortunately, tho, the words to the Age of Aquarius are all wrong. "When Jupiter aligns with Mars(the angry red planet), that means an all out war because Jupiter is a planet of expansion and abundance. With the moon in the 7th house means no cooperation between the rulers of the world. But it's just a song and a beautiful one at that.
I was born in 1955, and gotta say what a blessing it has been to live through this particular portion of history. We had so many miraculous things going on from radio, television, computers, to world connection becoming a modern convenience. Imagine going from a radio on the shelf listening to The Shadow, Paul Harvey: the rest of the story, to a square black tv watching Ed Sullivan, to color tv, to having a remote control, to the 'brick', to 8 tracks in our car...to NOW. All of that available on a phone... stunning!!

If you saw 'The 40 year old virgin' starring Steve Carell, Seth Rogan and Paul Rudd; this is the song that the cast sings at the end. I am an Aquarius (Born in early Feb) and it is a water sign (Water carrier). The Age of Aquarius is a time for rebirth and renewal for human kind and calls for a better way of life. Hugs from Oz
It IS NOT a water sign. Many make this mistake because of Aquarius being the water bearer, but those waters are representative of the waters of knowledge, which should be free and flowing to all. Aqua is an air sign--heady and thinking and often stereotyped as weird, but I think mostly misunderstood. Water signs (pisces, cancer, scorpio) are often described as deep in the feels, which some accuse Aquarians of not having feelings--largely untrue accusation but isn't usually the forefront for us. Aquarians want justice and understanding for all. Love, a January Aquarian
The last 2000 years, we were in theAge of Pisces, which was typified by Belief, Faith and Superstition and harsh judgement. We have just, since 2020, 3ntered the Age of Aquarius, a time when people will become more rational, tolerant and humanity will experience a new Enlightenment and work toward Peace. Pisces is kicking and screaming on her way out, but the Universe is demanding that we live up to the promise of Humanity.
The 5th Dimension were a hugely popular from the 60s and early 70s. Marilyn McCoo lead singer and Billy Davis Jr are married and for over 50 years. Their sound was mainly a smooth harmonious pop sound, there were criticisms that they didn't sound black enough. Yes Marilyn is stunning in the looks department. They have won many Grammy awards
Separate songs done for a musical, but it's basically become one song on the radio airwaves. It's been played like this forever, so it's really become one song.
They were excellent in person, too! Not at all disappointing, great voices, not dependent upon studio hijinks. Super stage presentation, so much fun & artistry.
as others have mentioned, these 2 songs are from the broadway musical, 'hair'. on the radio, however, it was played as 'aquarious/let the sunshine in'.
We grew up with increasing prosperity and hope for our country, it's so sad to see so many of our fellow Americans so filled with hate and anger towards anyone who doesn't agree with them. My philosophy is 'my opinion is not more important than yours and yours is not more important than mine'!
"Aquarius" was the opening song in the musical HAIR, which was a HUGE hit because it was basically hippie kids smoking pot and talking about love and peace, and the songs were great. "Let the Sunshine In" was the closing number in the show. The Fifth Dimension put them together into one; they're not otherwise connected. Great song, great group. Love them!
Marilyn McCoo is one of the women you thought was good looking. She’s still pretty into her 80s. She and Billy DavisJr. have been married since 1969. The two had a really good song from the 70s called You Don’t Have To Be A Star. I caught myself singing it recently. You should check it out.
I was a teenager when this song was released and it was and still is one of my favorites! Thank you so much for reacting to it. It is so fun for me to see people enjoy the songs from 50 years ago……so much timeless music from that era.
The musical ‘Hair’ gave us so much great music!! I think it was the 1st Broadway musical where everyone on stage was naked. This was all a part of the age of peace&love-the Woodstock generation.Sunshine was metaphoric for love&kindness. It’s all one song-remember it was written for a musical& they were dancing&acting.(If you’re an Aquarius you’re water not fire.)
There is nothing in the world like those tight harmonies over the bass going berserk in "Let the sun shine..." Your ear to ear grin was perfectly appropriate.
The 5th Dimension were known as California soul. Aquarius/ Let The Sunshine in was their biggest hit. It stayed at the top of the Billboard pop chart in America for 6 straight weeks and was a huge hit worldwide
Song came out in 1969. I was twelve, and this song was played on FM radio so often, and they made so many appearances on everything from American Bandstand to Soul Train, and also on every variety show, I had all the words memorized. And I just discovered that I still remember them, after not hearing this song in many decades. I LOVED the 5th Dimension!! LOVE this song~ talk about uplifting!! 😍🔥♒♒♒(Aquarius sign). I'm also an Aries ♈♈♈!!!
I was born in Feb. 1962 when the Age of Aquarius began. And I am an Aqua. This song has always been one of my favorites. I rrmember dancing around the house to it as a child. It was MY theme song. 😂 I'm now 62 and was grooving during this entire video.
The 5th Dimension have some of the best vocal harmonies ever. Lots of great songs from them. Backed up by the Wrecking Crew, a legendary group of studio musicians.
This song was electrifying when it came out. I remember my friends and I turning it up on the stereo downstairs in the living room until our parents complained. After that, we purchased some headphones so we could *turn it up again!* :D
Pluto has now moved into Aquarius 11/19. Hopefully will leave the negativity behind in Capricorn where it was for the last 16 years. Pluto was upset it was demoted as a planet 😂
They won a Grammy for this song in 1969!!! The 2 you spoke of in the picture are married and were in Vegas touring last year...she's still beautiful. This song was #1 for 6 weeks in the US in 1969
The mythical Age of Aquarius! Harmony and understanding, sympathy and trust abounding. It was inspirational and aspirational for us young and hopeful folks in the 60s. Maybe, just maybe, all humankind could live together in harmony. Sigh....
The Fifth Dimention legendary group with many hit songs 🙂This is my favorite song moves my soul, from the Broadway show,Hair, it was a very big hit with the hippie movement ☮
Another "shinning" example of the incredible music produced in the 60's, no matter the genre rock, soul. folk or blues they all showed tremendous creatively and messaging.
Exactly... being positive for a future after a decade (the 1960s) that had great change and turmoil and finally, to have the Vietnam war to end into the early 70s. Hippy vibe still here and colors and hopeful and uplifing and coming together was a theme vs neutral, common and subdued as best not to stand out or labeled especially for men in rural/conservative America and a heavy hand if one does not conform. Also the fast rise of color TV gave shows a reason to go full spectrum.
This spent 6 weeks at #1 on the charts in 1969 and won a Grammy in 1970 for both Record of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Performance by a Group. Billboard's #66 Greatest Songs of all Time.
The Fifth Dimension made numerous appearances on “The Ed Sullivan Show” on CBS. Ed Sullivan LOVED The Fifth Dimension. He liked the vocal group so much, that he dedicated an entire episode of the show in celebration of The Fifth Dimension’s Fifth Anniversary in 1971, during the show’s final season.
Always loved the 5th Dimension and especially this song. As to astrological meaning of the Age of Aquarius - we are currently at the end of the Age of Pisces, the fish. I have heard that that is the reason the fish symbol is used to represent Jesus, as the "dawning" of the Age of Pisces is associated with his birth. We are now moving into the Age of Aquarius, which is supposed to be the dawning of the golden age of man, a thousand years of peace and prosperity. An age is determined by where in the sky the sun rises on the vernal equinox. Each age of the zodiac lasts approximately 2156 years. I'm not an astrologer, so don't take this as gospel, just what I've learned over the years.
Marilyn McCoo has one of the greatest voices in any genre of music. She is right up there with artists like Karen Carpenter, Gladys Knight, and Aretha Franklin. Peace out brother! ✌😎
The anthem of the hippie era. Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr went on to have good solo careers. You should react to the The Seekers. Georgie Girl is a good song. The Zombies would be another good reaction
The Age of Aquarius is a time of peace, harmony, and spirituality. Billy Davis lost his wallet, and it was found by a producer of the musical HAIR. Billy and Marilyn went to see HAIR and liked the song, but it was too short, so he put Aquarius and Let the Sunshine In together and it became a #1 hit! It won Record-of-the Year and Song-of-the Year for 1969. Just two years after winning Record-of-the-Year for Up, Up and Away!

The 5th Dimension are so very awesome! Love this song so very much! Love your reaction!
You said the two things that come to mind every time I've heard this song. It's uplifting and it takes you to church every time you hear it.
Someone needs to give props to the bass player. So-props to the bass player.
Separate songs done for a musical, but it's basically become one song on the radio airwaves. It's been played like this forever, so it's really become one song.
Love their song "Wedding Bell Blues" and "One Less Bell To Answer"
Pure talent. Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr.
Love them!
You nearly went down the wrecking Crew rabbit hole! Give the wrecking Crew documentary a go it's brilliant!
Wrecking crew documentary is awesome
And Muscle Shoals.
One of my All-Time Favorite songs!!! The 5th Dimension are one of the greatest vocal harmony groups to ever grace our ears.
Great group !! Marilyn McCoo !!
Marilyn McCoo is one of the women you thought was good looking. She’s still pretty into her 80s. She and Billy DavisJr. have been married since 1969. The two had a really good song from the 70s called You Don’t Have To Be A Star. I caught myself singing it recently. You should check it out.
Yes!!! Great song!
We’re actually in the Age of Aquarius right now! And I’m Aquarius! Aquarius rule!!! 😂
Technically, this is a "show tune". Hair was a Broadway show. Thank you for what you do.
70's massive hit, & great memories 😊
This is one of the 1st songs that I remember as a child. Always loved it. Thank you
Me too! This song was always playing on the radio.
So true. Remember this as a 10 year old. 65 year old right now. Great music.
I was a teenager when this song was released and it was and still is one of my favorites! Thank you so much for reacting to it. It is so fun for me to see people enjoy the songs from 50 years ago……so much timeless music from that era.
When I was in elementary school and this song would come on the radio, I used to love it every time.
Originally from the Broadway play HAIR. They did a cover of Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In from the play, and it was a huge commercial hit!!!
This song won some Grammies and I think song of the year ! Great reaction...
There's your bridge and your generation giving you hope PEGASUS.
Hippies, the Summer of Love, Woodstock, it was the 60's baby!
It was fun being a young kid when this was released. Had so much fun singing it!!
One of the best songs ever! Very popular back in the day. Will always hold up in time.
Classic 60’s song. A great group with a number of hits. This is one of my favorite songs from them!
I wouldn't be surprised if your parents enjoyed the 5th Dimension. They were wholesome & upbeat.
I was born in Feb. 1962 when the Age of Aquarius began. And I am an Aqua. This song has always been one of my favorites. I rrmember dancing around the house to it as a child. It was MY theme song. 😂 I'm now 62 and was grooving during this entire video.
Cool story. No truth to the age of Aquarius beginning in 1962, but cool story.
The 5th Dimension have some of the best vocal harmonies ever. Lots of great songs from them. Backed up by the Wrecking Crew, a legendary group of studio musicians.
My graduation song from elementary school to junior high back in 1970 Brooklyn, NYC. Wow! How time flies.
I was around 5 to7 years old when they were on TV. I really loved there music! Great to hear there music again.
Such a great sing to drive to. Love when Billy brings it to church!
This song was #1 for 6 weeks in the US in 1969
Billy Davis and Marilyn McCoy are married. They have been for over fifty years.
Yes, they also have Gospel albums. Great couple still performing.
The mythical Age of Aquarius! Harmony and understanding, sympathy and trust abounding. It was inspirational and aspirational for us young and hopeful folks in the 60s. Maybe, just maybe, all humankind could live together in harmony. Sigh....
I grew up listening to this awesome group. It will always be a classic.
So much music is dark today, its nice to relive songs that open you up and expose your soul to fun, hapiness, and love.
Exactly... being positive for a future after a decade (the 1960s) that had great change and turmoil and finally, to have the Vietnam war to end into the early 70s.
Marilyn McCoo, one of the great voices of all time
Marilyn McCoo has one of the greatest voices in any genre of music. She is right up there with artists like Karen Carpenter, Gladys Knight, and Aretha Franklin. Peace out brother! ✌😎
Billy Davis and Marilyn were a duet loved their music even after they went on their own
The anthem of the hippie era.
Hair is one of the best musicals ever made. Aquarius is a reference to the hippie generation and their ideals for humanity.
Marilyn McCoo the one on the right all yellow is one of the most beautiful singers of all time!!!
