Joe Osborn play's bass in this . He is infamous for not changing his strings for 20 years . He was also part of "the wrecking crew."

The lead female singer is Marilyn McCoo, who has a beautiful voice and is gorgeous. When I first saw this group on TV 1967 singing the song “Up, Up and Away,” I had a crush on her at 8 years old. This song, Aquarius/Let The Sunshine In was recorded in 1968 and released in March 1969.
The instrumental track was set to tape at Wally Heider's Studio 3 in Hollywood by the Wrecking Crew members including Hal Blaine on drums, Joe Osborn on bass, Larry Knechtel on keyboards, Tommy Tedesco and Dennis Budimir on guitars and Tony Terran on trumpet.

❤❤❤ Truly enjoyed your reaction. How can this song not lift one's spirit? The message and the positive energy just flow. Love the Fifth Dimension. Their first hit was released in 1966, "Up Up and Away". Many call it sunshine pop, and it is. "Stone Soul Picnic", "Wedding Bell Blues", "Last Night I Didn't Get to Sleep", "Working on a Groovy Thing", and "California Soul" are some of their best of hits worth checking out. ✌️ ☮️

YES, YES, YES! This was one of our FAVORITE songs to sing, when we three young ladies were making music together! -- even after we got out of high school. I first heard it back when it was released in -- 1969 -- and I had flown over (from Alaska) to Hawaii for a brief time (a full week) with my (now ex-) husband during his R&R time away from Viet Nam. We also were introduced to a slightly OLDER song (and band) (from 1968) at the same time (no, I don't know how I missed it until a year later)..."In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida". Both of those songs became HUGE favorites for me.
Interestingly, when I met (and married) David, in 1983, those were also two of HIS favorites, and he, also, had the long-play "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" record (the single song took up both sides of the record), which was good, since my brother Frank SOLD mine, along with all of my Elvis records and the rest of my huge LP collection, before he left Alaska to move to where I was living in California, in 1979!!! (GRRR). David still listens to that one, on Spotify, on his phone.
I occasionally still hear THIS one, and (of course) I MUST sing along, even though I can't QUITE hit that very top note (in The Age of Aquarius) yet...it's the only one, though...I'm so stoked! 😀
I couldn't get up to the very highest note in Sunshine, either...sigh. But...I'm only one tone away. The next three tones down are light, and not full voice yet, but I'm getting there!
THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME ANOTHER SONG WITH WHICH TO WORK OUT MY VOICE!!! The other one I've been working with a LOT, is Dan Vasc's "Amazing Grace."
OK...you can find out more about The Fifth Dimension, FROM THEM...at:
    5th dimension live . com
(Put it back together, no spaces, to make it work -- you don't need to add anything else -- just put it together, copy it, and paste it, and it works.) 😀
It looks as if they were still doing tours in 2020, but nothing since then, but they are still making music, I think...not sure. They did NOT play instruments. I'm sure there will be something in their articles there, about that.

Hair was the first Broadway play that had a nude scene. The year was 1967 and the VietNam War was in full swing.
