Being that I am 51 and just getting into the AR platform 3-4yrs ago. I have zero experience with Geissele outside of what I have learned off social media and guntubers. I just know that I like the feel of a flat trigger. Would lovto have a Geissele S3G but with a flat bow especially if its anything like the S3G you just showed. Personally I have a Bull moose tactical straight bow and SS Anderson bobbed/speed hammer, light sprigs it pulls roughly about 3-3.5lbs 1mm travel/ creep before pull. The reset is super short similar to the S3G. However I don't know if it is just in my head, from seeing everybody brag about Geissele, but I still want the Geissele ,whichever one that would be that's the S3G but with a straight bow, either that or one of those fancy super triggers the like the gen 2 Tac- Ton 3MR or FRT triggers. Anyways Great content
I run the s3g with 4.5 spring on my 10.5 and ssa on my 20 inch ar10. I prefer the heavy springs for no negligent discharges that I experienced with the light springs. Also always curved over straight for consistent finger placement.
Beautiful builds man...geiessle is my gas gun trigger of choice....I normally run the national match..... You make me want to try the ss3g....the main reason I stopped running triggertech diamonds was the anemic reset...... For something new try the national match you can tune them to feel by the way you like I might have to try setting one to see if I can get the same rolling break....without the first stage...if no I think you just made me want another geiessle lmao
I really thought about trying a National Match, but I'm a bit wary of adjustable triggers. No reason other than not having any experience with them and being a chicken to commit to dropping the coin on one
I have several SD-E triggers and I love them. I also have a Blackout Defense with their Zero trigger (single stage) and it is amazing as well. Just ordered a SSP for a build, hoping it’s similar to that Zero trigger.
You're going to love it. You'll never be able to go back to a milspec trigger again. When you feel one again you'll think there's something wrong with the FCG. Lol
I’ve only shot with an m4a1 with what I think was an 8lbs trigger. So all these new ones were foreign to me. Wondering if this will be too light for precision shooting
Nothing is ever too light for precision shooting. But once you get a Geissele trigger, and then try going back to a standard milspec trigger, you all think there's something broken with the FCG. Lol
I've run ssa's and mbt-2s's as well as a bcm pnt and g2s I currently run the MBT as I sold the g2s with a rifle, I still have a lower with the ssa and while I've never done a detailed comparison neither gives me a feel that's noticeably better in regular use. Most people say the MBT is between an SSA and SSA-E being better that the first but not quite as good as the last. For the price, even with the raised one, that's amazing, not to mention it's fully machined and features a wide shoe. That said, the only difference I have noticed between the two is the first stage of the SSA is much stiffer, but both are smooth. Haven't tested the break and reset but defintly need to.
It depends on use case, the SSA and SSA-E are meant for different things, and the MTB2S is a competitor to the former. So saying it’s between them in “goodness” doesn’t really make sense. People are generally referring to the lightness, and lighter isn’t always better. You don’t want a super light trigger for Duty/HD.
SSAEX that comes factory on the super duty is one of the best, only ones I have not tried are SSP, Super Tricon and S3G. I am going to grab an SSP soon, With that being said you should try the Q trigger, its said to be a 2 stage but feels like a single stage and extremely crisp. In my opinion the cleanest break out of all of them
I'll get my hands on an SSA-E X eventually. I won't be able to resist with all the good things I hear about it. I had never heard of the Q trigger until now. Looking at it on their website it looks like a cassette type trigger?
Great video! How strong is the reset on the s3g trigger? Is it strong enough to move your finger or do you have to remove it completely to reset it? I have a competitive triggertech 2stg trigger and the reset is too weak to catch the reset. You must release the trigger completely to reset it…
No conventional tigger will "push" the reset. On any trigger, the reset force is exactly equal to the pull force. Newton's third law... (for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction). If it takes you 3 pounds to pull it, the "reset" is applying the same 3 pound force to return it. Change the springs to a 5 pound pull, and you will then have a 5 pound reset. You have to let off any of them unless you get a forced reset trigger that is physically built with a different design that mechanically pushes the trigger forward, which are now considered a machine gun by the ATF. I've used the exact Trigger Tech Competitive trigger you have for years in my 3-gun rifle. The reset is low because the pull weight is low. I got a Geisselle SSA-E X a while back for another build, but realized how fast I could run with it, and now have it in my 3-gun rifle. My dad was a competition shooter and had me out shooting as a kid back in 1977 lol I also played National level paintball tournaments, where you average 4 to 8,000 shots a day, from 1988 to 2004. So I'm an extreme trigger snob. I Myself like a little longer trigger pull with more reset force, hence why I have moved from Elftman and Trigger Techs in my comp rifle. I also prefer a 2 stage because I don't like my finger breaking contact with the trigger face between shots. The Trigger Tech has an AMAZING break for sure. And for a lightning fast split time on a double tap it's hard to beat. I can easily hit a .11 or better split with 2 shots. But for a consistently fast, longer string of fire like 5 to 10 rounds, it's just too short and too light to me. Try bumping up to a slightly heavier pull but a good quality trigger that's smooth with a crisp break and moderate reset range and you may like it more. BTW OP... Try the Lightning Bow trigger form Geisselle.... This SSA-E X has it and I LOVE it. Totally best of both worlds. I have not tried the tricon yet either, but it has an interesting trigger bow profile I'd love to check out.
The MBT2S is a direct competitor to the SSA/SD-C, none of the others. And IMO it’s superior. That being said I own all G triggers because they look cool.
Hey man question I see that you have a magwell from hrf concepts, I put an orden with them like a week ago and they haven’t shipped yet or even answer my email asking about it , did you have the same issue with them when you order ? Thank you
@@regulardudegungearreviewsh3132 thank you man , they finally send it lol , but it took almost 3 weeks, like is still on usps supposed to get here Saturday
It's made by Vltor. They have a compact version (IMOD) and one designed for the A5 system (EMOD). And they also offer both on a club foot version, though I don't have any of those.
I honestly can’t tell much difference from the SSA vs SSA-E. I’m sure it’s there but it’s pretty negligible on such a good FCG. The larue trigger guys like to cope that the MBT2s is as good as a SSA-E. They definitely aren’t. They are ok triggers but nowhere near as good as a SSA-E
I feel like they were a decent enough trigger that was worth the upgrade from milspec when they were $80. Now that they're $120; no way. And they are nowhere near as nice as a Geissele
……never mind, just saw the duck sauce when it was flipped over, nice builds though. Upgrading to the SD-C was a total game changer, definitely worth the money if you get them on sale.
I got the Geissele G2S and the Larue MBT2S on sale just to try the hype and my God Geissele is definitely on another level. Good triggers the Larue's but I'd go Geissele everytime if I had to choose. Just bought a CMC 3.5lb trigger, can't wait to see how that goes.🤙
Never understood why people prefer a 2 stage. First thing every1 does when lining up a shot is take out the slack and find the wall on a trigger. In a single stage you get to totally skip that step. Not to mention on follow up shots on a 2 stage most people use the trigger reset to start right at the wall on the next shots. Point being most people are going to be already at the wall when they are about to pull the trigger. So why not go with a 1 stage and skip that whole taking out the slack process?
I feel the benefits is having an even lighter final stage. So with precision rifles you may get your reticle over your target and take up the first stage slack. Then after you regulate your breathing it's just a very light squeeze to release the hammer.
